Detailed Reviews
When you look out over the ocean from Peter's Place in Waterville its easy to understand how time could stand still as you contemplate the world from that vantage point. Peter run's a top quality, quaint establishment with home made cakes he learned how to make as a child in his Aunt's/Mother's bakery in Sneem (hope I remember that correctly :)) ... Peter is a wonderful host, as he welcomes you into his eclectically decorated home. If the weather is fine you can take your tea and cake across the road up onto the grass lawn and sit at the coffee tables look out over the ocean, truly spectacular! My permanent screen saver is of this view. Every trip to the Ring of Kerry should include a stop for refreshment at Peter's Place.

Danke, Peter.

Petes place was a perfect pit stop! Very friendly service and a beautiful view! Quirky interior and homemade kakes! Well worth a stop! Sitting on the gras verge over looking the sun set was fab and great value! Do not pass by!

sad to say Peter's place left a lot to be desired. worst toasted sandwich ive ever had. Peter paid more attention to his lovely turf fire than to us. chipped China cups. coffee was terrible. place was smelly and musty. sink in loo was out off order. not a nice experience

Little cosy place, authentic experience, friendly staff and a cute dog. The food was simple but homemade and delicious and I loved their cakes! They have outdoor seating overlooking the ocean, a great place to have lunch.

Peter's was a very nice place to stop by and have a coffee in Waterville with a good atmosphere and kind owner. The interior was very interesting and unique, and Peter took the time to speak with us about the history of the shop and a little extra about his own family history. Myself and my partner had an almond tart after the coffee that was delicious and we would definitely recommend a pit stop at this small, local coffee shop whenever passing through Waterville.

Having driven for hours out to Ballinaskelligs and found nowhere where we could have a cup of tea and a sandwich (it was Sunday and most places just did carvery lunch' we were on our way back thru Waterville and we spotted Peters Place on the seafront so in we went and boy were we glad we did…a small sitting room like from 30 yrs ago, cute chairs and a sofa….delicious food….teas and coffees, cakes, sandwiches made fresh behind the counter…tea is served in lovely old teapots…..on bokety tables..but its utterly charming…and Peter is a friendly kerry man who chatted to everyone..our toasted ham and cheese sandwiches were fresh and the tea was delicious….rhubarb crumble and cream was very good too…..do try this place…its as 'Irish' as you will get, and for that its worth visiting…a charming place…where you step back in time.

The homemade sweets and Irish stories from Peter were the highlight of the day in Waterville while on the Ring of Kerry trip. We shared the lovely Whiskey cake and an almond cake, with tea! Peter is an amazing storyteller when he feels connected to his visitors. Recommended to stop by and get some authentic Irish cake and atmosphere
