I've stayed here before more than once. Always a pleasure to arrive at this lovely spot on the water. This time I got the TILLINGHAST suite, w picture windows overlooking the garden/sea. Clean as a whistle, great breakfast. Was able to get a better tee time at Waterville through their connection. Just wonderful. Highly recommended.
We recently stayed at Waterville House while we were visiting golf courses in Ireland. It was by far the nicest place we stayed. It is a beautiful old country house (mansion) and Michael and Christine welcome you as if you are family. It was like staying in their home. They serve only breakfast (a fantastically tasty one) so only those staying in the hotel come in. It’s superbly quiet and private. There are beautiful sitting rooms well stocked with liquor and soft drinks. The views of the ocean are spectacular from every room. We will always remember the majesty of the waves and the peacefulness of the house. We stayed in other fancier golf resorts on our trip but only this hotel felt authentically Irish. Micheal and Christine are just old fashioned, good people and they went out of their way to help us get a last minute Covid test.…
Christine and Michael are great hosts. House is great place to stay for local golf. Breakfast was excellent and the house has its own driving range, short game area, and putting green. Bar and living room very relaxing.
We stayed here after playing Waterville and it was a treat. The hotel wonderfully complements the course. The hotel has a driving range, a par 3 hole with a golf cart and a chipping area. It also has a stream for fishing and some picturesque sheep. Staff is very warm and welcoming. Very gracious. Very pleasantly surprised, will return.
hard to describe the experience here until you stay here. amazingly friendly attentive helpful staff. Michael/Christine will give you a ride to golf, pick up your clubs, basically make your stay a no brainer. Each room is unique with a view of either the ocean , the river, or the driving range. most private driving range/practice facility you will ever use. The morning breakfast is amongst the best i have had. i recommend the full Irish.
Waterville Golf Links is one of the best golf courses (among many) in Ireland. And Waterville House is the perfect complement to the Links. The rooms, named for famous golf course architects, are comfortable and spacious with nice bathrooms. Their is a very comfortable lounge/tv room with a honor system bar overlooking a salmon stream & Atlantic Ocean...perfect for golfers. The staff was very helpful arranging dinner reservations for us in town. Breakfast each morning was excellent.
We were 6 golfers who were fortunate enough to stay here for 2 nights and play at nearby Waterville links. Wonderful hosts, excellent reception and staff with very nice clean comfortable accomodation in a beautiful secluded B&B resort. Christine the house manager went above and beyond she is top notch! The drying room for my wet clothing was a very nice touch... Steam room was a great way to relax after the game as was the fully stocked, wonderful upstairs lounge. The grounds were beautifully maintained and offered a good practise area and there were very good restaurants within a short drive. You could even fly fish right there if you were interested. The Irish breakfast was wholesome and delicious both mornings. What a great way to start your golf day. Would love to return some day. It just doesn't get any better!!…
Christine the House Manager is outstanding.. She continually went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and handled our reservations and needs. She and her team are superb and genuine to our needs and comfort. The property is spectacular with views that were memorable. Enjoyed golfing at the Waterville Golf Links, Hogs Head courses and also the fly fishing on property. This comfortable historic manor home has all the charm of staying somewhere you won't ever forget.
First time in Waterville and our 3-night stay at the Waterville House could not have been more special. From the bay views, the nearby golf at Waterville links and Hogs Head, the on-site practice facilities, backyard fly fishing and overall incredible hospitality, this authentic B&B was an amazing experience. The house holds a lot of history and its hosts will make you feel completely at home. - the McGinnis fam
Waterville House provides excellent accommodation, superb personalized service and top notch breakfasts with an ambiance of comfort and old world charm hard to find in today's world. Miriam and her staff are welcoming and go out of their way to make guests feel at home and cared for in a relaxed setting. The guest rooms are recently refurbished, large, tastefully furnished, carpeted; beds are fitted with excellent mattresses and the best of linens. The large en suite bathrooms are high-end and modern with lots of tile and glass, endless hot water and fluffy white towels. Common rooms abound - a large sitting room with a bar and a fireplace look out to the Atlantic - we were there when Hurricane Ophelia passed through so we had quite a show! There is a smaller lounge across from the dining room and downstairs is a gym and billiard table. There is a formal dining room for breakfast which is served on white linen with silver service and china and boasts everything you might want, hot or cold, to start your day. There is a den with a screen continuously displaying the view from an underwater cam positioned in the adjacent river - brown trout were in view every time I checked. Waterville House, sits on acreage just outside the town, facing the Atlantic and with the Currane River running alongside - so it is quiet and private. It was originally built as a private manor residence. It is now associated with the Waterville Links golf course and guests can book tee times through Miriam. You can even warm up by hitting a few balls at the practice facilities right beside the hotel. Anglers can fish in season and there are photos all around showing them with their catch. The town of Waterville is midway along the Ring of Kerry, the narrow, winding coastal road famous for its stunning scenery and ancient ruins. If southwestern Ireland is part of your itinerary, and you can afford a taste of luxury, stay at Waterville House!…
