We spent a really pleasant stay in Ann' house. She's totally welcoming and helpful. The accomodation is surrounded by tremendous landscapes and many car or walk trips start from there. We made also a really nice boat trip on the lake just nearby and walk around its tiny island. We come back as soon as we can.
11/10. Very welcoming, hospitality second to none by far the best b&b we stayed in on the Kerry way. Also a very pretty spot just on the Currane Lough. We arrived after a very long walk from Cahersiveen (allow extra time for this walk it’s a long one) and although we had not booked it the host still made us a dinner(lasagne) which was very good (better than some I’ve had form Killarney restaurants!) normally you have to book in advance - be sure to do so the food is great! Rooms were perfect with a very generous and tasty breakfast left in a fridge in the room for the morning (covid adaptation). Very friendly hosts, very good food, great hospitality. Apologies for the delay with this review and thanks again! P.s The photo doesn’t do the place justice but the panoramic pictures I took of the view are too large (above 5mb)…
The host Anne made us feel very welcome and (Covid-) safe. She had a good suggestion for an activity for us to do everyday and although we normally like to choose our own path, we followed all the suggestions since they made at lot of sense :) We saw a lot of the Iveragh peninsula, it was all so beautiful. But the location of the lodge itself is scenic as well. We tried to have breakfast outside everyday - it is a pity the breakfast room was not open yet, hopefully it will be soon. The views of the lake and surroundings hills are just stunning, and it is a very quiet place. Our toddler had a lot of space to run around, outside as well as in our spacious and spotless room. One of the highlights of our stay was the fresh and home made breakfast every day. Delicious!
this place needs visiting when covid has gone i saw the breakfast in a pick and thought i want to be there and have that -sadly due to covid restrictions the full irish Breakfast was off that was very sad to me as we had full irish Breakfasts in the other 2 B and Bs. - instead there was a fridge with nice goodies and home made quiche all very nice - and a tiny pack parma style ham fruit etc it was all nice The evening meal was lovely nice view and happy days The place is very clean the family an old family nice good folks got on well and if it had not been 24 degrees at 7.30 i was going to go sea trout and salmon fishing on loch Currane - The whole area is magical a time warp and unspoilt nature all around you very bonny place - we look forward to going back soon im gasping for that full Irish Breakfast she is famous for thankyou symon brown…
Beautiful scenic location on Lake Curran. Family run and very friendly. The view is breathtaking. Breakfast was excellent. It’s a five minute drive to Waterville and ten minutes from two championship courses if you are looking for a top class links coarse.I will definitely go back.
