Thank you to Ann and Eamon for their gracious hospitality. What an outstanding B & B, Ann is a chef and you can certainly tell! Wonderful meals, warm fire, cosy rooms. Just a delight. Near Waterville in Ireland, gorgeous location. Highly recommend Currane Lodge - the most beautiful surroundings with the most lovely hosts. Thank you!
Excellent location - Very friendly host - choice of different menus as breakfast, no matter what you choose, All very good - fantastic view over the lake and church island - walking distance 3 min from the lake - Ann give fantastic trip information (cliffs of Kerry, lighthouse, Dino footprint, beaches ...)parking, wifi, room, bedroom excellent. Wish we could stay longer.
The B&B is in a quaint rural location outside of Waterville overlooking Lough Currane. Our hostess, Ann, was extremely friendly and welcoming, and we felt right at home. Our room was tidy and neat, and breakfast was wonderful. Ann really went above and beyond by helping us with some arrangements for a local excursion. The view from the front--toward the lake--is marvelous.
We came in after a long cycle from Glenbeigh. Thankfully upon arrival, we were greeted immediately by Ann who showed us into our room and offered us dinner even though we did not pre-order. We were extremely grateful for this as we were so exhausted from our cycle and did not want to go out for food. The room that we were given was very quaint and clean. The dinner was delicious and priced at a very reasonable 25€ for a starter, main, dessert and tea! Would like to add that the view outside while eating is amazing, facing the sea and mountains definitely made the meal more enjoyable than it already was! The next morning we were greeted with a delicious homemade breakfast by Ann. Pancakes with bacon and porridge with fruit and honey! As we were still tired out from our cycle the day before, we checked with Ann if she knew of a taxi service that could take us and our bikes to Sneem. Ann was unable to recommend us a service as most of the taxi places did not offer bicycle transport. However, her husband very kindly offered to take us there at a very reasonable rate along with our bikes. Overall, our stay at the Currane Lodge was very pleasant and the hosts were very kind. Recommend this place to everyone who would like to stay at Waterville.…
This is a lovely location outside of Waterville. We went as through hikers on the Kerry Way and we required pickup as its about 4km outside town. It has an unparalleled view of Lough Currane and a World Heritage monastery on an island in the lake. What stood out and motivated us to write a review, was the attention to small details. Ann and her staff do a lovely job with the rooms. Things like a stamp on the toilet paper, fancy extras that one expects from a five star hotel. The breakfast was likewise very lovely, same Irish breakfast but with extra touches. If we had to do it over again, I would have Ann arrange for a bout tour to the monastery, built by the same monks that inhabited Skellig Michael.
