Booked this hotel because it is dog friendly, I called and spoke to CJ and asked could we have an early check-in, she said she would try and sort that for us, we arrived around noon Meghan was on reception she had our details and upgraded our room happy days what a great start, Meghan ask if we would like to include breakfast, we said no as we didn't want to leave my little dog, don't worry she said, order at the bar and go to the restaurant and bring him with you, someone will bring everything to you, I couldn't believe we could have breakfast with my little dog mo. everyone at the hotel loved mo, they took photos and made a fuss of him . Our room was lovely it was a twin room with a single and double bed, there was a kettle in the room and we got tea coffee milk and cups at reception, this was because of COVID 19 they were not placed in the room, everything was spotless and plenty of hand sanitizer everywhere , we had dinner the first night and our waitress brought a little bowl of turkey for mo and water, they look after and have so much time for your dog. The staff here are first class and make this hotel stand out, I would stay here again in a heartbeat .if you are looking for a dog-friendly hotel in Athlone this should be your first choice you will not regret it .many thanks to all the staff from Eileen my cousin Anne and a big thank you from mo.

To celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary our Daughter & Son booked a weekend for us all in the Creggan Court Hotel 3 rooms in total . They chose this hotel because it has pet friendly option so we could bring our dog with us .

On arrival to hotel it looks tired , the bin at front door was overflowing and there were cigarette butts littered everywhere, but once inside we received a very warm friendly welcome and we were checked in quickly, every member of staff we encountered were very polite and friendly during our stay .

In our room as requested by our children there was a bouquet of flowers and Prosecco for us and a welcome card from management congratulating us on 25 yrs of marriage easy mistake to make I guess .

Our room was at the back of the hotel it was spacious, comfy beds , it was very clean except for a few stains on carpet, the showers in all 3 room were impossible to regulate , the water was scalding. The walls are very thin and noisy people in room beside us were banging doors & screaming on Friday night but that’s no fault of the hotel however the fiddle playing in the early hours on Sunday morning (which is really taking the Mick) … and which was reported to reception twice now that is up to the hotel to sort out but nothing was done and it really wasn’t good enough !!!

Room was very warm to the point of being stuffy , so warm we thought radiator was on but it wasn’t even with windows open it was very stuffy however we had to close the windows because of the boy racers racing up & down a road nearby until well after 3am , now this is no fault of the hotel but handy to know before you book.

Food in hotel is lovely & great value for money and great choice however if you are coeliac you’ve a very limited choice the starters you can choose chicken wings or Cesar salad and from the mains options you can have steak or salmon. The Restaurant staff are fantastic , warm , welcoming & really friendly.

Over all despite lack of sleep we made the most of our stay but alas we won’t return due to the issues we encountered which is a pity as it’s ideally located outskirts of Athlone .

The Staff are the highlight of this hotel well done guys !!!!

I recently stayed here for business, back to some sort of normality. First all the location is excellent, easy to locate

I was greeted by a lovely girl, Grace, who couldn’t do enough for me. She is definitely the type of person every hotel needs on their front desk

The room was then spacious and spotless which is what people are looking for in the current climate.

Next time I hope to sample both dinner and breakfast. The parking situation isn’t the best but I don’t think there is much the hotel can do about that. Certainly nothing to get worked up over.

Looking forward to coming back

What's Good:

Friendly, helpful staff
Pet friendly
Rooms higher standard than outside of hotel suggests
Small grocers and cafe in front of hotel entrance
Double size shower tray
Free parking in front of hotel
Large screen TV with good station choice
Very reasonable nightly rate
Hotel phoned me 2 days before arrival to let me know no breakfast would be available on first morning of my stay. I was able to order at petrol station cafe instead.

Whats Bad:

Very early morning traffic noise experienced in room
(Hotel located near motorway entry/exit).

Very noisy carwash generator operates on/off 24 hours a day right in front of house bedrooms. We could not get a full night's sleep as a result. Reported to reception. Hotel owner has apparently asked forecourt landlord to fix this but landlord unwilling to so.

Vending machines on ground and second floors were out of service.

Room was very stuffy over night and could not open window to help as noise from trucks, cars and generator outside. We couldn't easily turn off radiator in room as the valve fell off when we tried. Reported to reception.

A nice-to-have would be air-conditioning in rooms.

Minor issue:
Wash hand basin tap was loose in room 208 but could still be used. Reported to reception.

If you decide to stay, be sure to ask for a room at back of hotel, away from forecourt/car wash.

We stayed in there he Creggan court hotel in athlone it was very good for the price we paid. The food was excellent and the staff were very help full, but when eating they could come to your table more often to see if your ok or do you need anything as at the moment not much stuff can be left on tables. But overall I could not fault this hotel and would stay there again

The Turkey was cold, the stuffing dry. No staff member came to ask was everything okay. Poor service overall. I won't be returning again.

We stopped enroute to the West for a meal in their bar . Unfortunately the food was of very poor quality . We were a party of three having 2 roast dinners and a chicken curry .
Overloaded with carbs and the gravy was , in my opinion. basically water with a “ Bistio” mix ! Tasteless
The chicken curry was inedible ! Sent it back
Asked for our constructive comments to be passed onto the chef
I was asked by staff , who were lovely , if I wanted something else but I politely declined
Won’t be back and will not recommend

Spent two nights in the Creggan court hotel while in Athlone cycling the greenway to Mullingar.Situated in a retail park just off the motorway.Clean basic rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff, hard to fault particularly for the very reasonable rate for our stay.
Had bar food one evening and it could have been better, fish was very soggy with frozen skinny chips.
Ideal base for exploring Athlone and its surrounds,we done the greenway, visited Portlick forest trails,Clonmacnoisse and enjoyed some shopping in Athlone itself
We would return if in the area again.

Room was small but clean and recently refurbished. Carvery in bar was average, bar was very open and lacking atmosphere and most diners were construction workers. Was woken at 2:30am by young guys retuning to their rooms. Noise continued for at least an hour. Wouldn't be rushing back.

We had dinner in the Creggan Court in Athlone yesterday the 12th November & we were very disappointed. The lamb I received was very fatty & also was the bacon my Mother ordered. The bacon also was very tough & my Mother got it very difficult to cut it. Also the vegetables were very under cooked. We paid a good price for the meal & it would be nice to have had it edible. We will not be back.
