Wineport Lodge boasts a tranquil lakeside setting that garners appreciation from many guests, who also celebrate the hotel's meticulous cleanliness and the scenic views from their comfortable rooms. Despite some concerns over room size, noise, and the presence of midges, the hotel's atmosphere is often described as welcoming, complete with thoughtful touches.
Travelers frequently commend the warm service and highlight the inviting amenities, such as the hot tubs and infinity pool. However, opinions on value are mixed, with some guests feeling the cost outweighs the benefits, particularly citing extra charges and meals that don't meet expectations.

Detailed Reviews
The location of this lodge style hotel is beautiful and from the moment you arrive the scenery speaks for itself. Our weather was fantastic so that did help. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly and made us feel like we were regulars from the moment we arrived. Lunch menu was good and food was good, all served in a relaxed fashion.
Our room was very nice and had everything you could want including a large flatscreen TV with all channel selection and Netflix etc if accompanied by children. Everything was spotlessly clean and overall we were impressed with the accommodation.
Spa treatments were great and staff again super friendly and attentive and the outdoor hot tub was great. We were very impressed by how seriously they took the cleaning and preparation before we were allowed in.
The evening meal was good quality, not a huge selection but adequate. My Steak was ordered medium but came out well done which was a disappointment but when mentioned to waiter it was immediately taken back and replaced as ordered. We thought the food was very good, if not altogether ‘memorable’. The wine choice is very expensive and sadly a bottle of wine costing €47 appears to be a bottle widely available for under €10. This was a disappointment and the selection just seems expensive in order to match the venue. Fine if it’s a good wine, but this was a let down.
Breakfast was lovely and relaxed and the restaurant itself is really atmospheric and lots of choice is available.
This is an expensive hotel so Everything needs to be top class, and on balance if it’s a relaxing 24hrs you seek, it’s probably just about worth the cost. Give it a go you won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I just returned from a very relaxing break away at the Wineport Lodge. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm reception from all staff. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch in the newly refurbished lounge area while overlooking the lake. The ladies over seeing reception / checkin (Liz and the General Manager Norma) ensured prompt check in to our room which included a complimentary birthday token for myself.
We utilised the hot tub and noted adherence to strict cleaning regime of same. Our meal in the restaurant was exceptional, the ambience and professionalism of all staff added to the occasion. We both found the food to be of very high standard and plenty to suit all taste requirements. Overall we feel that the Wineport Lodge is in a different league when it comes to delivering quality service/ food within a unique setting.

We treated ourselves to two nights in the champagne suite which was just the most amazing room!! We barely left the room it was that nice. It was so big and spacious, was great having two floors felt more like a small apartment, and those lake views were stunning.
Breakfast was included and was pretty okay, but you could only order the bare minimum compared to other hotels we’ve been to in the past where you could order as much as you want which was disappointing for my partner who was still quite hungry after.
Hot tubs were fab and were sanitised after each use, felt super safe during covid. Staff were all super helpful. Would definitely return and would recommend this room to anyone wanting an extra special stay.

So basically after a long few months in lockdown a real treat was needed so the wineport was our choice every thing upon arrival was beautiful the setting the bar the drinks until we were seated in the restaurant it was a set menu for €65 per person which if I got high quality food I don't mind paying so the starter was a cold chicken breast sliced with lettuce... That's it no sauce and it was ment to be a warm chicken salad. The risotto to share was OK but the steak was the biggest joke of all waited nearly an hour for a burnt taste less piece of meat.... The size of the palm of my hand with a mushroom a mushroom I might add and soggy burnt chips... To be honest we didn't eat it sent it back even the restaurant manger aggred it was a disgrace and didn't charge for it a serious staff meeting it needed with kitchen staff and who ever sourced that so called steak.

Myself and my fiance were so excited to go to the wine port lodge. We had saved up bluebook vouchers because had heard great things. When we arrived we were informed by the receptionist if we wanted to use the hot tubs we just needed to call the reception and they would make sure they were ready to use. We were informed to head down to the hot tubs in 10 minutes and they would be ready. When we got down the hot tubs were freezing. There was no staff around to inform so we had to leave and go back to our room unable to use them. We had dinner booked in the restaurant and choose the 5 part taster menu. The food was a really poor standard. The goats cheese starter was just lettuce leaves and the salmon smokies was just a repeat of the first chowder dish we got. we had to ask several times for our main course. In all it took 45-50mins to get our main course. Overnight the fire alarm went off twice and we could not get through to the reception to find out if there was an issue. The following morning before we checked out a member of staff walked into our room while we were still there and never even apologied. On check out I asked to speak to the manager who was unavailable. The receptionist later called me back and stated they would refund 200 euro due to the issues we had. A few days later when I checked my account they only refunded me 100 euro and when I rang back to clarify this i was told "she meant to say 100 euro and she was supposed to call back and tell me this". Obviously I was furious and asked to speak with the manager. To this day the manager has never called me back. They eventually refunded the further 100 euro after several days of back and forth. Really poor experience and impossible to get in contact with the manager. I would really not recommend this place and I strongly feel it does not warent the blue book.

My husband and I visited the Wineport yesterday for lunch. The setting is amazing. We had a gorgeous view of the lake from our table. The restaurant decor is fab also, a very Gatsby vibe. Our server Chris deserves a special mention. He was so friendly and attentive. He was also very funny and made our experience very enjoyable. The other staff were lovely too, very efficient and professional. The food was really tasty and fresh. I had the fried chicken sourdough ciabatta with spicy coleslaw and home made chips: divine! I would highly recommend the chocolate brownie. The Guinness is also top notch. This was our first time out for lunch since March and we felt very safe. Lots of hand sanitizer stations and also glass screens between each booth for added protection. We were very happy with the whole experience and we can’t wait to return soon.

Having spent the Christmas in bed with the flu, it was a much needed night away in the Wineport Lodge. On arrival we were welcomed with a warm fruit drink and told we had been upgraded. But this upgrade was one we certainly didn’t expect, we were escorted to the Champagne Suit, pure luxury. Despite the inclement weather, the view from the room was spectacular. The room is on two levels, with a lounge area with toilet downstairs and a massive bedroom with en-suite and walk in wardrobe upstairs. Everything you could possibly need for your stay was available in the room, coffee maker, robes, toiletries, iron, large curved TV, stereo system, WiFi.etc etc. Milk for tea and home made brownies for nibbles were also supplied.
This room is just amazing and I cannot thank Norma and staff for giving us such a great treat. The log fires were burning throughout the lodge making it so cosy and inviting.
The food in the Wineport was excellent as always and it continues to be one of my favourite destinations for a treat break, no matter what the weather.

We were lucky enough to squeeze in a one night break in the midst of the madness leading up to Christmas. As for most i am sure, this was one of very few items in our diary that we managed to keep this year and what a lovely way to end a strange year. The entire team were so lovely and friendly. We booked a suite which was so spacious and quiet, we had a beautiful dinner as part of our rate, enjoyed the hot tubs on the day or arrival and departure and had room service on our balcony the following morning to make the most of the gorgeous rooms and view we had. This was a perfect night away from the world, so peaceful and relaxing and i would recommend wineport lodge to anyone. To the team, i commend you. I work in hospitality also and can understand the hard work and challenges going on behind the scenes on what has been a difficult year for you. With that said, there was not a moment that we experienced anything but smiles and warmth form you all. We will be back, thank you!

As well as being a top class hotel with excellent food and atmosphere, the Wineport Lodge boasts top class staff who genuinely put the customer first. From the genuine, warm welcome to the final goodbye, I cannot rate the staff enough.
With a young family, we got a long-overdue night away last February. Unfortunately, due to a family medical emergency, we had to leave at 7am the next morning, leaving all our stuff all over the room. Not only were the staff utterly accommodating and understanding, they actually rang us later that day to confirm that we could leave our things in the room for the whole day and night if desired. Thankfully, it didn’t come to that but the genuine care for our family’s wellbeing and their assistance at a difficult time shone through. We hope to go back soon for a less-panicked stay and look extremely forward to the top class stay again.

Yes. We had breakfast to the room in the morning. Breakfast was ok at best little bit underwhelming compared to the rest.
I believe the infinity pool can be reserved for private use.
It's not complimentary. You pay to use alone, I think 25 or if you book a treatment you have the option to use it for no extra charge.
