Had a passing visit to the Wineport with a friend today from the lake. We were treated to wonderful service and chat from the infectious Jessica😉. Will definitely return for a wholesome dinner next time. She made us feel very welcome and of course the day which was absolutely fabulous at 26° gave us a few pleasant memories of the Wineport.

I was extremely disappointed with not only the room but the overall appearance of the place our room was very cramped not what was advertised on the web site the balcony was full of cobwebs …the hot tubs are badly positioned in front of the dining area with no privacy whatso ever.. you are charged to use the infinity pool 25 euro per person the food was just ok breakfast was tasteless but worst of all was when I complained nothing was offered or done about it .. the Views are lovely and it could have been a lovely get away but no we were very disappointed definitely not worth the money .

For a quiet getaway, lovely service and amazing food, look no further. The views are amazing, as are the staff. We made the most of the stay by booking massages and the hot tub experience, all worth every penny.

Visited the establishment this weekend after good feedback from relatives who had stayed there previously. First impressions are everything they say, well on arrival there was no welcome, no information on local area or hotel services available to guests. We requested an earlier dinner time as both my wife and myself were hungry after a long road trip on Friday evening which seemed to be problematic until we pointed out that walk-ins (none guests) were being seated without issue. Next, we were offered a glass of champion, which we were delighted with until the receptionist remarked " don’t get too excited as it is none alcoholic" also added to the fact the measure provided was the size you would serve a whiskey to someone. We were then brought around the hotel on a whistle stop tour carrying our bags and our empty glasses. We asked could we go direct to the room to drop our bags and then have the tour, but I was informed that it will be your final stop. With respect to dinner in the hotel, limited interaction with the multiple waiters, cramped seating, and long periods between courses. We did inquiry once if our mains were going to be served soon with a waiter, she said that she would check for us but never returned. We found the food to be ok but nothing special and certainly not worth the associated large price charged. We were surprised when the bill was requested to be informed that we would have to go to front desk to get the bill and pay. We enjoyed our time in the spa facilities but found the staff to be very business-like. Breakfast was served to the room and the food to be good. Room was nice and had a balcony but was overlooked by the room next door? The bath in the toilet had 3 large paint marks on it so we did not use it. After returning to the hotel for the 2nd night of our stay and after a lovely day out we decided to seat outside, drink some wine, and watch the sun go down over the lake. A waiter approached us when we sat down and asked us if we were eating tonight, I replied no that we already eaten but would like just to order some wine. We were then asked if we were guests and what was the name. I replied yes and provided my name, only then I was then provided with a wine list. Other guests in the area where we had sat were offered blankets as there was a slight chill in the air, but we were omitted for some reason? On departure from the establishment, I was asked if everything was ok with my bill and given a card machine to pay. No enquiry was made on how our stay was after spending 1300 euros for a 2-night stay. I was left feeling very disappointed and thinking should have stayed in some other establishment, where they know how to treat guests.

I stayed for 3 nights in July. The Lodge is a visually appealing structure perched lakeside offering great views. The benefits of staying in a smaller hotel like this, is the personal touch for sure. The staff went all out to make sure our stay was a good one, which is so refreshing in an era were Customer Service is on the decline. I need to give a shout out to Sara, our lovely yoga instructor and Restaurant/Bar manager. She is a gem and a fantastic asset to the Wineport. Likewise, Kash, the wonderful Maitre'D. Kash is friendly and exhuberant and another fabulous asset to the hotel. I am Vegetarian and struggle a lot for dinner choices, particularly when staying more than a couple of nights. Kash took it in hand himself and produced an amazing dinner on night 3, just for me. The hot tub guys were also great, so friendly and helpful; Also thanks to Glen who organised both of our boat trips on the lake. Hiring the whalley is great fun and costs €65 for 2 hours. The rooms are all clean, modern and very comfortable. The food was a bit hit and miss however, and this is definitely one thing the Wineport can improve upon, particularly when you consider the cost of a short stay. The floating hot tubs are a great recent addition, but pricey at €25 per person for 25 minutes. The Spa is small but does the job with competent therapists. I do think that the Lodge could do with a larger indoor comforable lounge area. When the sun is shinning, there are lots of nice places to sit outside, however when the weather isnt great, there is really nowhere to lounge comfortably and read a book; other than your room.

Absolutrely loved the Wineport Lodge. We had a blue book voucher and wanted a classy place to stay .We were looking ofor a hotel for coupleas as opppose to a family hotel withkids running riot. The drive into the hotel is disappointing however they have no option considering the front of the hotel is on the lake. When we entered we met with Carol who gave us a glass of bubly and showed us to our lakeview room. What a beautiful room .Lovely treats awaited for us .We booked the hottub and as we the last guest we had slightly longer as no one was coming in after us. Rian was our assistant and he was so pleasant courteous and kind. Having had a good hour in the hot tub we then prepared for dinner. Had drink in the bar as the sun shone on the lake. The we have our 4 course meal which was divine. The beautiful view of the lake as we ate was sublime. The following day we sat out the front in glorious sunshine and enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the area. The staff were absolutely fab on both days. Friendly and we definitely felt that we were important people .Well done Wineport ad thank you for a fantastic experience.

Like the Tardis, this is bigger on the inside than it looks. Every room has a lake view, and our 1st floor suite (208) had a great balcony too. Staff were truly outstanding, so so friendly and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. A lot of thought has gone into the way things are run here, and it shows. From the welcoming glass of non-alcoholic Prosecco, to the little gift of some nibbles in the room, and the (unusual) thoughtfullness of providing not just tea and coffee, but a proper teapot and cafetiere in the room, and the fact that room service is a no-cost option, everything set the tone. There is a spa (which we didn't use), and outdoor hot tubs (also didn't use). The hot tubs cost € 25 per person for 25 mins, with a glass of Prosecco, which we thought was pushing it a bit. Breakfast was possibly the best hotel breakfast I have ever had, superb ingredients, beautifully cooked to order, and served faultlessly. The only let down, unfortunately, was the rest of the food, which was a mixed bag in terms of quality. For lunch we had a bowl of soup (fine) and a really nice salad bowl. However, the salad bowl was supposed to have smoked salmon, and instead it had poached salmon. No big deal, as I liked both, but this was a schoolboy error. The evening menu was basically their barfood menu served in the restaurant, and it was pretty mediocre. I ordered "fish'n'chips", and I got a large but thin slice of unidentified and tasteless white fish, overcooked, and with soggy batter. My wife's Rhubarb and Raspberry crumble had no hint of rhubarb, and it was a filo pastry case filled with what tasted like half a jar of raspberry jam. Not good at all. I struck lucky with possibly the nicest cheesboard I have got in years. Great cheeses, nice crackers, some grapes, but no cookery skill required of course. I'd be giving this place an absolute rave review and definitely saying I'd go back, but unfortunately they let themselves down badly in the food department, and as a result I wouldn't be rushing back. A real shame, because apart from that, it was fantastic.

This place is essentially a spa but we visited just for dinner: we did not stay. It is pricey but smart and elegant. The restaurant offer a small but adequate menu. Service was lovely ... although not coordinated very well. Most food was thoroughly enjoyed but some items were just too salty. Presentation was excellent. Lovely views over the lough. Would happily return

Amid a calm and beautiful setting the staff's friendly and personal attention make this Lodge truly a destination in itself. Rent a boat for a spin around the lakes, enjoy a scenic pre-dinner cocktail in the bar and order the lamb for dinner. It's halfway between Galway and the airport so we just stayed the night. We wish we had a few more days to ride the bikes, spend longer on the lake, and older kids (to enjoy the lakeside hot tubs and spa). This part of Ireland doesn't seem to be popular with Americans, but if it's on your way to other vacation spots, a few days here will be time well spent.
