Found by chance, this b&b proved to be well located for our trip and very nice. Great room, great host, great breakfast. This made our holiday very nice, spending a lovely time in Athlone while we toured the island.

Stayed overnight when attending a wedding & from the minute we stepped inside we were made feel very welcome by Niamh, our room was clean, bright & warm, tea & coffee making facilities were provided . Extra pillows were also in the room which was great, the wonderful host also dropped us to the wedding reception. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of cereals, fruit , yogurts & brown homemade bread, cooked full Irish & eggs anyway you wanted them, Niamh was friendly with all guests enquiring as to how their evenings went, would highly recommend the Alverna House B&B

Stayed one night and loved it. The room was spacious and comfortable and more importantly spotlessly clean. The breakfast the next morning was lovely with GF cereal and cooked breakfast. Niamh was friendly and accommodating and I felt very comfortable at Alverna House and would definitely stay again.

I stayed at Alverna House for two nights in November because I was attending a wedding at nearby at the Hudson Bay Hotel. It was a perfect location to the wedding venue. The room was modern, clean and a good size. The breakfast was fantastic, set me up for the day. I left my car at the hotel on the night of the wedding and Niamh kindly drove me to retrieve it the following morning. Will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.
