Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent stay, the highlight was definitely our dinner … Martin our waiter and his team was so attentive and made a special effort to mark my friend’s birthday with dessert. Hotel is lovely with spacious rooms, beautiful bathrooms and lovely views.

Had a great night away with a group of friends. We were made feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The ladies on reception were so helpful and James offered to help us with our bags. We had drinks in the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere there. I highly recommend the 3 course dinner in the restaurant. We were given an excellent choice of food and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The waiting staff were so attentive and friendly, especially Timi who couldn't have been more helpful. Our group had booked 3 double rooms, all of which were really spacious and beautifully decorated. 1 of the rooms had a horrible musty / smokey smell however, which was disappointing.

The place is stunning, On arrival the reception staff wore lovely and so welcoming. The room was beautiful and the view was stunning. Michael who brought us to our table was the friendliest man i have ever met, he said nothing is ever any trouble if you need anything to just ask. Enda was another fella who was a bundle of joy, biggest smile and very nice. Rachel served us food and was so lovely. The food was delicious. Nicest Nachos i have ever had. We stayed 3 nights and everything was perfect, cannot fault anything

Wow, talk about a little break! I'm in a wheelchair so don't like fuss but I couldn't be happier with the service, James who stood our among the rest helped us with everything we needed and more. Also all of the staff were so friendly and immediately made us feel relaxed. Food was exceptional, facilities were unbelievable and the hotel is beautiful and a high standard of cleanliness. We cannot wait to come back, thank you

Called in here for coffee and something to eat with family. From the start of our visit we encountered problems. I had to be dropped off at the door as disabled parking was back down the drive and across the road approx 100metres away. Bar was very nice, but when looking for a disabled toilet there was no sign where it was. I asked at reception and was told to go out the main door and go through the conservatory? to the very end and there was a toilet there. Overall from the bar to the WC was about 150 metres approx. This is very poor for a highly rated hotel. I think signage is a basic thing to provide.

Stayed Friday and Saturday night for a wedding on the 16th, had food in the bar Friday evening, very tasty fish and chips, felt very comfortable in the bar on my own, staff really friendly and attentive. Breakfast on both mornings plentiful and really nice, again staff very friendly and attentive. My room was fabulous overlooking the lake. Food at the wedding was outstanding. Lovely hotel, will definitely be back.

This was our third visit . We booked the deluxe retreat Lakeview room ,as before . We were on the top floor, and views were fabulous , as was the weather . There were signs on the wall when we came out of the lift , they advised us of renovation work taking place on the floor . This was not a problem , and , in all honesty,we were glad to see it as the room , though clean , is beginning to look very dated, and tired. The food in the restaurant , was as good as ever , piping hot ,and plentiful. For two of our evenings, we were looked after by Aisling, a lovely young lady , friendly, informative , and will go far in her chosen career . Unfortunately, she was on days off when we left . Breakfast, was lovely , again , hot and plentiful , if somewhat noisy on one of the mornings , but ,sure that's not a big problem . The cocktails ,are great , the only thing that was a bit disappointing, was the cheeseboard , a little sparse, compared to what we are used to . We will come back again , hopefully, when the renovations are over .

We were celebrating our parents golden jubilee. James and William were so easy to plan with. No request was too much. Gabor and Aishling were super waiting on 28 of us for dinner and were incredibly accommodating.

We stayed for one night for a birthday celebration. Our deal included dinner (which was flawless), hydrotherapy suite at the spa (which we had all to ourselves) and afternoon tea. Everything from start to finish was amazing...the afternoon tea could do with perking up a little...a few items weren't great (pate, pureed salmon and sandwiches weren't as good as we had hoped for) However what that lacked in, was certainly made up for by the attentive manager Martin who was very professional, friendly and helpful. We spoke to him a few times over our short stay and I must say, this man deserves a pay rise...he goes above and beyond his managerial duties to ensure guests are well taken care of. We will definitely be back.
