Felt like I had broken into someone's home uninvited. Hostess was unfriendly and rude. The room had a kettle in it but no cups or milk. We were interrogated at the breakfast table as to whether or not we had come to the kitchen in the early morning, one of my party went down to get a cup to make...

I cant say anything good about this place. The rooms were old fashioned and dirty. If you like stuffed squirrels ,foxes and fake flowers this is the place for you! The breakfast was inedible and the dogs bowl under the table did not appeal. Our host felt it was ok to go through our personal belongings.

My Mum and I stayed for a night at Roncalli and I am so glad that this place was recommended to us. It was quaint, homely, and everything we could have asked for in a B&B. The location was also great - on a quiet street but only a few minutes walk from the main part of town. Breakfast was...

I had a lovely stay at Roncalli, the room was nice, ensuite, very quiet and a lovely breakfast with home made brown bread in the morning. There really isn't much to say other than it is a good honest place. I am annoyed at the two one star reviews here. Both are certainly from the same person as they mention...

From the moment we saw the exterior to the melancholic walk away the next morning our stay in Roncalli could not, quite literally, been improved. The garden out front is both gorgeous and homey, the building's facade evokes deliciously Irish emotions. We had not pre-booked and the time and manner of our arrival could be described as arbitrary, but this...

I had the pleasure of staying here during my trip to Athlone. I stayed in September and am looking forward to staying there again next year. I was tracing my ancestry and Ann was so kind and helpful. Her home was charming and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. I'd recommend this B&B to anyone.

I stayed at this bed and breakfast last weekend while visiting Athlone for a friend's 50th. I found the location to be excellent, within two minutes of the centre of town and in such a quiet location you wouldn't know you were in town. The proprietor Ann made me feel very welcome and was so friendly and courteous, making sure...

My husband and myself spent New Years Eve and New Years day in Athlone, staying 2 nights at the Roncalli B & B. Roncalli B & B has a great location, free parking and very close walking distance to the city center of Athlone. The owner is very knowledgeable of the area and is very helpful with directions and recommendations...

I was driving from to Dublin on my way back from Galway having made the same trip that morning and having had a working day in between and I felt my eyes start to close with the monotony of the motorway, so I took the next exit off it which led me to Athlone town. I decided to get some...
