Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped off during a cycle for coffee and a scone. As it was a hot day I also asked for two pints of miwadi cordial. I got an awful shock when I was handed the bill, I was charged €4 for two glasses of miwadi. The coffee was €3.50 for average tasting illy brand. Scones were also €3 each which gave rise to total bill of €17. The price of the scones and coffee would have been tolerable if it had not been for the extortionate cost of tap water and orange cordial.

We spent a very enjoyable evening in the bar listening to live music act "Ceolan". The staff are friendly and efficient. The Guinness is smooth and creamy. They serve good coffee too. The entire crowd in the bar had a good time

Room clean and spacious, restaurant food excellent, breakfast excellent. The owners and staff take note of your preferences and needs, and remember them. They provide many helpful services, including advice on hiking, getting taxis, and local restaurants. We had a wonderful experience.

We stayed at the Rathbaun Hotel for 2 nights in May. Such a lovely warm welcome, Lynn and John and all the staff couldn’t do enough for you, the breakfast was divine and also had the seafood with potatoes which was equally gorgeous. Our 2 dogs Buster and Ralf were with us and it was great to find a hotel which welcomed them so readily. We would definitely come back without hesitation. Thanks so much Shirley, Brenda, Buster and Ralf x

What a lovely place to visit. We passed through last week but had to revisit before travelling home. The hospitality is the best Ireland can give. Loved the banter. Bought a map to remind us of our visit to ireland. It was neatly wrapped in tomorrow's newspaper. If you don't believe me then visit and buy a map with your meal.

Hubby and I have just returned from a 3 day stay at the Rathbaun Hotel and we would both highly recommend it to anyone considering staying in the area. If you want a genuine friendly welcome to a family hotel where everything is spotlessly clean, where the rooms are so comfy, the food home cooked and tasty, the service exceptional, then you wont be disappointed in the Rathbaun. We had a lovely relaxing 3 nights, Lisdoonvarna is very handy for the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Aillwee Caves and loads of other things to do and see and we were so pleased that we chose the Rathbaun to stay in

Stayed in rathbaun hotel and will definitely be back. John Lynn family and staff were brilliant, the breakfast and evening meals were outstanding. Lynn and John so helpful with tips on things to do and it's a great base for liscanner, lachinch, Doolin and cliffs of mother. So close to everywhere. Highly recommend this family run hoter. 12/10.

Visited here for food and a few drinks on a Saturday a week or two ago. There was a great band playing and social distancing was in place with really attentive wait staff. I cant praise the food enough. I really wasn't expecting much from a hotel vegetarian option but was happy to see that they offered a separate vegetarian menu. I had the vegan burger and it was probably one of the best veggie burgers I've had and the best meal from my tip out west. You could tell there was actual thought that went into putting it together and selecting the dressings (tasted like homemade pickles) rather than just the usual attitude of offering one meat dish without the meat part for vegetarians. As for the meat options, my partner had the lamb stew and he was really impressed with it too.
