This great B&B is a quiet country home only minutes from Doolin & easy day trips to the Burren, the Cliffs of Moher and other must see locations. Hosts Kris & Irene are great hosts. They offer so much more than a full Irish breakfast. They make their jams, spreads, granola & even homebrew some great beers. Everything is set up so you can minimize your travel impact which we really appreciate. I highly recommend this B&B for your trip.
Just home from my stay in Slieve Elva bnb. Wonderful base for exploring co clare. The hosts are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. My single room had two single beds, tv, hairdryer extra pillows even a hotwater bottle if you wanted one. The bathroom was beautiful and spotlessly clean and fabulous shower. I also had use of kettle and fridge and microwave in the breakfast room. I felt so welcome and really safe. The hosts do a fantastic job. The whole place was spotless. Because of its location it was so beautiful and quiet and I got great nights sleep. I cant wait to go back again. A real home away from home. I would highly recommend
The family that runs this B&B are wonderful hosts and provide a great home away from home while visiting this area. Rooms are small and perhaps not as luxurious as other B&Bs but the friendly service, excellent food, and breathtaking surroundings are worth the stay. Definitely feels more like you are staying in a family's home than at a commercial hotel, which was the break we were looking for. The homemade bread at breakfast was delicious!
Really good location and nice owners, the breakfast was amazing, all the home made stuff... yoghurt, breads, jams. Great selection of everything. Me and my friend enjoyed our 2 night stay. Highly recommended
Wonderful welcoming hosts, clean comfortable rooms, and an incredible breakfast. Quiet country setting, but an easy drive to multiple restaurants. Wish we could have spent more time here. Smoked salmon and egg breakfast was fantastic!
This B&B is situated in The Burren National Park. The breakfast is perfect, freshly baked and made with organic ingredients. The rooms are very nice furnished and perfectly clean. The friendly owners give you every advise you need to explore this wonderful site of Ireland.
Very good location, fantastic breakfast. Ice room and good bed. We appreciated the hostess that she took a lot of time to explain what we should visit and how we should drive there. Great experience... we surely will come back...
Beautiful setting on a quite rural lane (definitely NOT in the thick of it). Comfortable beds and homemade breakfast. The environments felt overbearing, a bit like being watched at every turn which could have been them wanting to make sure they were helpful. The are numerous rules such as no shoes in the bathroom and the heat is on a timer, spent the time there very cold. Price was good.
My wife and I enjoyed two nights at Slieve Elva in mid September. Their B&B is located a couple minutes outside Lisdoonvarna in the middle of farm country. We immediately were welcomed into their home by the owners and their very cute and well mannered two boys. Our room was upstairs with a view of farm fields where you could see the weather move in over the hill. The room was a bit cramped but I found that at four of the five B&Bs we stayed at in Ireland. At Slieve Elva, the breakfast was the star of our stay. With their breakfast room with windows on three sides, we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast including homemade breads and homemade jams looking over a great view of the countryside. Ireen and Chris were great hosts providing updates on the Aran Island ferries and a great tip on where to eat dinner. Instead of the typical tourist pub in Lisdoonvarna they pointed us to a pub in a nearby smaller town. There we had an enjoyable meal. But that is only half the story. We met a local older couple as we both entered the pub and exchanged small talk. At the end of our meal as we were preparing to pay, the gentleman came over to us and started to tell us about some of the musicians that were pictured on the walls. Then he proceeded to tell us a story about one of them involving the Cliffs of Mohar. Needless to say, we were delighted with the story. Whether it’s true or not doesn’t matter. Having a local tell you a story is priceless. The next time we visit Ireland, the Slieve Elva is on our ‘must stay’ list. …
We stayed there only one night but we would have liked to stay more. The house is in the middle of nowhere, with a 360° view on the Burren. We received a warm welcome from Kris and Irene, two Belgians who enjoyed Ireland so much that they decided to open a B&B in the country. The rooms are very good and quiet, our hosts know the region very well and could advise us for the best places. Breakfast was excellent, changed from all the other B&B, the Belgian pancakes and the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon were particularly noticed.
