Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for one night. We had rang to book a room but were told there was no vacancies however could book a room online. Hotel has nice old stone external but the interior is very dated. Rooms are small and very noisy from the street and cleaners the following morning who start at 8. We visited in August, the bar doesn't open until 5 and when we returned after food at 9 were told it was already closed again. Seemed like a hotel that isn't fully open or functional. Strange considering we visit in August, still summer season.

A country hotel n the centre of town. It was handy to be able to park on the premises though it times I guess it would be full as the parking lot is not very big. Room was clean and adequate for a one night stay. Though we had some very noisy neighbours, so the walls are not sound proof.

Charming Hotel. Nice owners and staff. I felt very welcomed. Good value for money. The building has a nice old interior. The bedroom was good and the mattress was excellent (first time i have ever pointed that out in a review) There was a gig on in their venue when i was there which was great. If your are staying in County Clare search this place out!

Great ovetnight stop on motorbike trip on Wild Atlantic Way. 5 stars for very comfortable bed and 5 stars for food being great for the price point. Would stay again if I was on a similar trip. I would recommend booking direct by phone. Rooms away from front are quieter. Motorcycle parking at rear

Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean and with great fresh food, Relaxed but professional place. The bed was super comfortable. The home backing and coffee were very good, a lovely place to relax and chill out. Ideal for trips to the Burren, Fanore, Doolin all round. I will be back !!

My wife, son and I stayed for two nights and were very pleased with the hotel considering the all restriction being imposed on it by the current Covid 19 pandemic. The bedroom was basic but clean and the breakfast, particularly the porridge was excellent. The hotel is a throw back to times gone by but that in itself, adds to its overall charm.

What can I say about Lisdoonvarna....where in the world would you get a month long Festival of great Music & Dance, in many venues from 12noon till the early hours of the morning ........ All for FREE??? It's old style Friendly Ireland & Nowhere better when the weather is good! Made a booking some months back & was delighted to get a room at the Royal Spa Hotel last week. It couldn't be more central! The Dining room was full but I was more than happy to be served in the Restaurant, which had an ever changing street view. Each morning my choice of Fruit with Yoghurt & Seeds, followed by a lovely tasty cooked Breakfast with Homemade Brown toast & a big pot of Tea was served with good humour & a smile. Yum yum! The restaurant is small & extremely busy from morning till night, especially during the Festival. Food is Fresh & portions are generous at reasonable prices. The Big window gives a modern look as well as an abundance of light, but more than that, its Superb for people watching. Believe me there is no better entertainment! My room was immaculately clean ..... Loved to see such crisp white bed linen & towels. Enjoyed a relaxed cup of Tea in my room too after a long day/night dancing ! Delighted to meet Anne, John & their lovely hardworking staff again this year. You're a great team...doing a Wonderful job!! Regarding the questions below.....Hotel is not Quiet All the time. There is a small TV ....sometimes with scrambling.

We were staying nearby for a few nights and by chance visited the bar of this lovely hotel. A lovely waiter, Gabriel, was serving and made us three of the best Irish Coffees we had ever had, and we have had a LOT of Irish Coffees in Ireland and all over the world. He explained that the owner took great pride in training him to make them perfectly for guests when he arrived from Venezuela. They clearly care very much about their guests at this hotel and we will be staying here the next time we are in the area and can't wait to go back for more Irish Coffees here! I should mention that some of our group had breakfast here also and said it was fantastic.
