Oh my goodness, what a delight to find the Ballinsheen House & Gardens after the day at Aran Islands and viewing the Cliffs of Mohr. Mary was a first-rate and gracious hostess and the room was beautifully adorned. Our breakfast could not have been more sumptuous and satisfying and was nicely cooked to order. The house itself is wonderfully and tastefully decorated and although we did not get to spend time in the gardens, they reflected a serene setting as seen from our bedroom window. Ballinsheen represents a destination point for those on that side of Ireland.
Stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was comfortable, spacious and airy. Breakfast was fantastic, great choice and excellent. quality. The amount of homemade breads, jams etc added to it. Mary was such a welcoming and helpful hostess. We plan to return!
My friends and I stayed in Ballinsheen House and Gardens last night. The house is absolutely gorgeous, gardens so spectacular a haven to sit out in and watch the world go by. The room was so clean, comfortable and we had an excellent night's sleep. Breakfast this morning was just gorgeous with great choice and so well presented. It was top class. I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough and Mary was so welcoming and kind. Definitely be back.
Excellent stay Mary our host was helpful and friendly, very good quality home cooked food with great choice for breakfast. Great acknowledgement to local producers. Fantastic gardens. Beautiful paintings done also by Mary ,talented women. Would recommend and stay again. Easy 3 minute walk to local restaurents
Description and pictures reflect the actual situation of the B&B. In walking distance to the center of Lisdoonvarna with good restaurants/pubs. Nicely decorated room, spacious bathroom, excellent breakfast. The landlady was very helpful and friendly and took time to chat with us when she found us in the living room after our return from the restaurant. PRI (Price(85) Relax Index) 5 = very good
This place was great. Mary has a wonderful house with beautiful gardens. The breakfast was beyond delicious and it’s location to twin was perfect. Would love to stay again! Maybe we’ll come back for next years festival.
Excellent location a few mins walk to the centre of Lisdoonvarna, which in itself is perfectly positioned for exploring Cliffs of Moher and the Burren (which we absolutely loved). The B&B itself is warm and welcoming and our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Lovely thoughtful touches such as a jar of cookies to have with a cup of tea and a bottle opener and wine glasses were excellent! Bathroom looked brand new and was also super clean, with lovely towels and shampoo etc. Mary’s breakfast was sensational - so lovingly crafted and considered. All fresh local produce, such as amazing cheeses, plus an amazing variety of spiced and stewed fruits to go with local fresh yogurt. Banana and soda breads, fruit and cold meats. This is before you’ve even chosen from the beautifully hand written menu of cooked options - from classic Irish cooked breakfast, or local goats cheese and smoked salmon bagel to organic porridge with a shot of Baileys! We were blown away. And enjoyed whilst sitting in the cosy conservatory looking at the beautiful garden. Would thoroughly recommend!…
This Bed and Breakfast far exceeded our expectations for accommodation. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing. There were lots of choices, and used locally sourced ingredients. The rhubarb compote was excellent. Mary also gave us an excellent recommendation for local dining and entertainment that did not disappoint.
Mary provided the loveliest hospitality a guest could ever hope for! We loved our stay at Ballinsheen House. The B&B was spacious and immaculate, and the breakfasts were simply amazing -- a five-star experience crafted lovingly with the finest ingredients. Our room was large and comfortable, with views of the gorgeous gardens. I'd gladly stay there again and recommend it highly!
The room was lovely with a beautiful view of Mary's gorgeous garden! Very hospitable, warm and friendly...we wished we had more time to spend here. The home was gorgeous with plenty of rooms to relax and pick up some wonderful books on Ireland. Mary made a fabulous recommendation for dinner at the Ballinalacken Castle for dinner, wonderful experience and delicious food. Highly recommend a visit here and stay more than 2-3 nights!
