We stayed here for one night to attend a funeral in the area. After a long drive from the East coast we found the hotel to be welcoming and even more importantly, warm. We asked for sandwiches on arrival to be told that it was too late for food. We brought our bags up to our room and upon our return to the bar we asked another girl if it were possible to have sandwiches as we hadn't eaten since lunch time and this was about 9pm. This particular girl said 'no problem' and we were served with delicious freshly made sandwiches and tea.

There is no lift in the hotel but the stairs are easy to climb and were not an issue. Our room was comfortable, warm, quiet and we slept extremely well. Bathroom was well appointed with a walk-in shower.

Breakfast was good, with the usual fresh fruit, yogurt, juice and cereals on display. We ordered porridge and poached eggs with toast all very tasty.

If I happened to be in this area again I would 100% recommend this nice comfortable hotel. We got a good rate too considering it was booked at short notice.

Stopped off here for a bite to eat mid week. Early bird menu was well priced and wide selections. Great place with lots of SD tables and very helpful. Food was tasty, cooked from scratch and not overly priced. Staff are really helpful and go out of their way to accommodate guests. No waiting for a table and the facilities were very clean. Highly recommend. Guinness is super.

I would say this is an hotel a little bit stuck in the past and probably would cost too much to modernize to better standards. There are lots of things you would slate a newer hotel for but have to accept at this level. Our room was very small. Only 1 bedside locker fitted in and the bed was very low for some reason. The 10 minute tap running time for hot water not ideal either and very wasteful. The staff were friendly and very hardworking. Breakfast was very good. We did have an evening meal which was fine. I noticed a lot of locals eating in that evening which is always a vote of confidence in the food.
Evening meals are only available 3 nights at the weekends. At €190 per room the hotel is not great value and reflects demand locally rather than the value offered.

We stopped for breakfast to break a long car journey. It was one of the worst breakfasts I have ever had. It arrived out cold at first so was sent back to be reheated. The whole fry was a right off & was blatantly not freshly cooked despite the waitress insisting it was. It was tired, soggy and undercooked. The only edible part was the toast. The orange juice poured for a carton was wait for it €3.50! Never felt so ripped off for such an unpleasant meal. I left three quarters of my fry behind after sampling a few bits and feeling genuinely repulsed by it. We complained and yet all the waitress deducted from the bill was a side order of scrambled egg which I’d ordered for the kids (big wow!) She was less than efficient in dealing with our complaint which we really should have taken further. Her manner was awful and it was like it was a big inconvenience. The hotel should brief their staff properly on how to deal with an a complaint in a more compassionate way. Don’t stop here for breakfast!

Went here today for dinner , had 3 small children with us the youngest been 7 months . We ordered soup for starters and the waiter approach the table and didn't even give my daughter a chance to move the baby out of the way and the baby put his hand into the hot soup and was bawling, the waiter didn't even apologise , she had to stick the baby's hand into a glass of water. Then the mains came and my daughter got a hair in her dinner , i told her to complain but she was just so upset she left and went home. It was very off putting especially as we were trying to celebrate our grand daughters 5th birthday

Stayed here with partner and two children, two nights two rooms B&B costing 480e. Hotel is old fashioned with outdated decor. Rooms were upstairs and hotel had no lift. Rooms were a mismatch of furniture although bed and bedside tables did match, rooms were clean and both with view of concrete walls and roofs. Lingering smell both in hallway and in both rooms, smelled like harsh freshener possibly used for carpet (was not disinfect smell) which was off putting. Hotel did not seem fresh or airy. Breakfast both mornings was ok. Checking in was confusing. Have been in couple of hotels at this time, The Connemara Lake View Hotel did not provide value for money and I would not be inclined to stay there again.

Group of us were working in area for two weeks this September and stayed in Connemara Lake Hotel. Two of us are vegan and the staff, particularly kitchen staff, were unbelievable. They went out of their way to accommodate us, putting on dedicated vegan food both for breakfast and evening meal. Hotel very comfortable and very central, rooms nice, warm and cosy. Also gave us an excellent group rate that included breakfast and evening meal. Couldn't recommended staff and hotel highly enough.

While the staff were welcoming and the room was nice and spacious, we felt 190 euros was expensive for the facilities offered. The restaurant seemed very quiet and without atmosphere. It is well located in the middle of the town but has no nice views.

I stayed here for three pre-booked nights recently. I was disappointed. They don't seem to make much of an effort.

The room was small with a low-lying bed and was barely adequate for one. The hot water in the morning took 10 minutes to heat up - but at least there was a notice to that effect. Rain was coming through the roof in the corridor outside my room. They serve food only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings only, from 5pm to 8pm. I opted to take my evening measl at the Boat Inn across the road. They did, however, provide a decent breakfast.

Would I stay here again? No.

I stayed in the Connemara Lake Hotel with friends this weekend. Our rooms were spotless and very spacious, and decorated uniquely with beautiful furniture. We really enjoyed breakfast both mornings. Dinner was equally delicious. The smoked salmon starter and burger were particular hits. The staff were very friendly and gave us lots of local advice and tips. The hotel was a great base from which to explore Connemara and Galway City, Would highly recommend staying here.
