Great 2 days in a charming house hotel hosted by Henry & Elaine. While it was a new experience for us the Hotel was clean and everything worked as it should. Food was great, met with other holiday makers where we shared our stories of the places we visited on the day. Great experience.

Henry and Elaine Reid, the owners of this country house hotel, do everything right for an enjoyable, relaxing stay. We had a comfortable room. Breakfast is excellent served by efficient friendly staff. A cosy bar is ideal for pre and post dinner drinks. Great wine list and very tasty food . Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for 3 nights and loved it! Our room was comfortable and clean, every meal was amazing and Henry and Elaine were wonderful hosts! It’s a very traditional set-up, drinks in the bar before dinner, which is served between 7pm and 8pm. Overall it felt really homely and I’d love to stay again, for the homemade brown bread if nothing else!

Faked by stunning photos and overweighted good reviews, I paid more than 300 euros for 2 nights. What I got was an unpleasant smelly old house! The room was a completely different room from the photo provided!! With broken wall paint... No heating! In the morning the dawn spores make the windows sweat like a pig! ( imagine how cold and humid it is) 1 bottle of 300ml water for 2 persons 2 days! No kettle no tea or coffee in the room ( it’s what a 4 star hotel should be like??) The breakfast portion smaller than half all day breakfast. Dinner served only between 7-8pm. Hotel closes at 11pm. When it’s closed it’s closed. You don’t have spare key for enter. The house is empty, you won’t find any staffs to complain...

My wife and I stayed at Ross Lake House Hotel recently for five nights. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our stay - the welcome, the accommodation, the food and the high level of service - and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning a country house hotel break in rural west of Ireland. As we were staying for five nights we decided to treat ourselves to a suite We had a comfortable well furnished sitting room with a flat screen TV and door leading out to the gardens. The bedroom was spacious with a king bed and more than ample wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was more than big enough with a shower over bath and two wash hand basins. The wifi signal in the suite was consistently good during our stay. Breakfast was cooked to order and offered us the choice we wanted. We had dinner in the hotel each evening and found the menu varied and based on local produce. The wine list had an adequate selection of wines - old and new world - and there was Guinness and lager on draft. We enjoyed every meal - well cooked dishes nicely presented and a professional yet friendly level of service. This is a small (13 rooms) country house hotel in a rural location 30 minutes drive from the city of Galway and ideally located for exploring Connemara and Clare . We were able during our stay to fit in trips to Galway, Clifden and Bunratty as well as exploring the beautiful Connemara countryside. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
