Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a wonderful stay, Dolores was so helpful she advised us on all the best places to go and where to eat, not that we need much after or fabulous breakfast. Our room was comfortable and clean. I would highly recommend staying here.

We have a wonderful 3 night stay, we had one of the cottages outside of the main house. It was comfortable and spotless. Breakfast was awesome as were our hosts. This has to be the best B&B of our trip and will return they next time we visit Ireland

We were in the “chalets” not attached to the main house. No cups or glasses, no top sheet, no soap, broken shower door but we did have spiders. Perhaps the main house lives up to the other reviews but not our room. The other couple we were with had a bed in their small kitchen! Too many B&Bs in the area to stay here.

My wife and I so wish that we stayed more than one night as this place was nearly perfect in every way! Our host became a fast friend as she is very friendly and engaging in great conversation. Upon our arrival, she showed us to our room and invited us down for coffee, tea, and wonderful baked goods! She then took the time to ask where we were from and when we said, "Boston" she took the time to talk about and get to know us. She genuinely cared about us not as paying customers, but as known guests in her home. We even visited a site that she recommended that was not on our itinerary (Kylemore Abbey) and this became one of our favorite stops of our entire trip. Delores even recommended a pub in town (Powers) and this too became one of the more memorable experiences of our trip.

Dolores was a lovely host on our hike through Connamara. Terrific room and breakfast, and she tipped us off to a wonderful restaurant in town and then packed us a nice lunch for the next day. She makes you feel right at home from the instant you arrive. It was a great start to our Hillwalk tour through Connemara. Oughterard is a terrifc little city and I hope to spend more time there one day. We'll be back!

Dolores is an absolutely delightful hostess, very friendly, helpful, gives great suggestions of places to go, sites to see, places to eat, should you want help. The place was immaculately clean and the grounds are beautiful. I was travelling with my 12 year old daughter (mother/daughter trip) and Dolores made her feel right at home. It's out from town, but just a short drive in, but you definitely want to have a car when staying there. It was nice to get away after a day of being out and about.

Wonderful warm welcome, felt more like a friend than guest. Nice view over the lake. Spectacular countryside weather along the coastroad or cross country - ask her for the little road! Super restaurant in the village called Greenway. No1 on trip advisor. Excellent local food products and fantastic choice of wine

We stopped in for our very first B&B experience ever also our first of three in Ireland. It was our second night in Ireland and Dolores welcomed us with open arms despite arriving a little late. She is a fantastic and personable host making us feel completely at home. Dolores even offered to drive us to town for our dinner and a few pints so we would not have to drive anymore for the night. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was fantastic. We could have stayed all day engulfed in conversation. Dolores made fantastic suggestions of places to visit on our way to our next stop. We loved forest hill and hope to visit again sometime! Thank you! Holly and Jaime Pennsylvania, USA

Lovely irish breakfast with tea scones, rolls etc. Dolores is a very friendly and talkative hostess. Gives lots of advice. She even gave us a surprise farewell present. (Thank you very much.) We slept in the chalet (house next to the guesthouse). This is more roomy(we stayed for 5 nights) and has a kitchen etc. So you can cook a meal if you want to. It is beautifully located on top of a hill and only 10 minutes drive to Orcherard.

We cannot speak highly enough of Dolores and Forrest Hill! She provided us the kindest hospitality and most generous welcome of all the B&Bs we visited in Ireland (5 total). Upon learning it was our Anniversary, she went straight to helping us plan a fitting evening. Her recommendations proved to be some of the most fun we had in our whole 10 days on the island. We are already planning our next trip to Ireland and can't wait to stay with Dolores again. Her home feels like staying with family!
