Very rude, wouldn't recommend staying there. Went to the nearby castle and decided to drive by the lake, pulled in by the road away from the guest house and the viewing point at the lake and just as I got out of the car I the woman came from inside and told me to go as its private land, at no point was I on private land as it's a public road. Not very welcoming at all really

Mary , military style ! Rude ! Ordered us away as we arrived at 3pm and say that the rooms weren't available until 4pm. Place was basic , dirty , and smelled..... the beds were uncomfortable and dusty , breakfast was basic .... what the good reviews are about I have no idea , worst place in the area , surviving on the view I guess.

Had a lovely 3 night stay at the Waterfront. It’s located down a country lane through the local golf course. We has a lakeside view which was clean and tidy. The bathroom was a bit small but not an issue. The host Mary was very friendly with nothing being too much trouble who has been running the Waterfront for many years. The real highlight was the superb breakfast. From choices of many different breads at a great cooked breakfast. What could be better.

Lovely stay and welcome and the hostess Mary was par excellent --- and views to love over the loch -- would stay anytime. We also received lots of help on where to visit and best routes to take. Great eateries and prices in local quaint town. Leaving would bring tears to a glass eye---I should know.

Nice room. We had great view of the lake. Breakfast was plentiful and good. En suite was small. And the shower tiny. Mart very meant and full of suggestions. Very clean accommodations sat outside with some wine and watched the sun set.

Mary made sure we had the best experience, and it sure was. Awesome irish breakfast in the morning, very cozy and welcoming place, beautiful scenery all around. And a superb strategic basecamp where to move from, if you plan to visit western Ireland. Thank you Mary for a wonderful time!

This place is off the beaten path and a hidden gem. It is quiet and beautiful. The house has a homey vibe and it's facing a small lake which gives it a romantic feel. I was very surprised and extremely delighted with its affordability juxtaposing the services we received. We were a party of 10 that stayed and all of us agreed that it was more than a bargain. An absolute antithesis for the cliche of too good to be true, or that cheap is cheap and that you get what you pay for. We only paid £69 for two nights and that's including a really yummy, warm and freshly cooked breakfast. A real breakfast and not just continental, which most inexpensive hostels and inns here in California offer for that price. Mary was a very nice host and very helpful. She happily asks where we are off to or what our itinerary is for the day and gladly suggests places to visit and where to find good eats. We would love to come back and visit Ireland and definitely stay here again.

Having never been to Ireland, we took a chance on all the places we stayed! The Waterfront House Country Home did not disappoint Amazing setting by the lake and off the beaten path. Peaceful, relaxing, serene. A very pretty B&B, clean and comfortable. Our Hostess Mary was warm, welcoming, helpful, and very kind. Mary was also extremely kind and was able to offer me a hot water bottle to help with an aching back. Thanks for all your help and dedication. Breakfast was incredible and kept us going until dinner. Mary was full of information on where to go for an amazing dinner experience! We loved our time in Oughterard at your B&B! Thank you again for everything!!

This B&B is located just outside Oughterard, and is located on the Lough Corrib. Very good location. The B&B is fine, but we should note that the B&B does need some decoration works both inside and on the terrace, in order to earn 5 stars. The same for hostess Mary. We have the impression that she is more or less alone to manage this B&B, and then it is a lot of work to make 8 rooms completely clean every day, and this is possibly why she can't spend more time on the guests. Once again, however, we certainly do not regret having stayed here.
