Detailed Reviews
This was certainly the best value accommodation I stayed during my recent holidays in Connemara. I stayed for 5 night solo and would note the following. The bedroom and bathroom were so clean and tidy and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast offerings were absolutely brilliant, omelettes were divine. The customer care offered by the hosts was excellent and they were hoping my fishing expeditions were successful. The host checked and advised me on the condition of my life jackets whilst boating and provided very good fishing advice, their suggestion on local restaurants were brilliant and it is so convenient for Galway and the Connemara district.

Home from home, just a beautiful setting and a very relaxed couple who I’m sure are very busy behind the scenes but are so calming and chilled it makes the guest very relaxed. Lovely lived in home with a gorgeous breakfast, however the highlight for us was the boat hire and the amazing job Greg did in guiding us to an island on the lake where we fished, swam, pier jumped and walked through woodlands discovering the many historical sites along the way, dined to the highest specification with our yummy packed lunch made by Dierdre. Overall this was an amazing two nights, Oughterard itself is a stunning place with plenty of places to eat and drink. We will be back. Thanks Greg & Dierdre.

What a gem! We visited for an angling trip on Lough Corrib and it surpassed our expectations! Greg met us at the location and was so knowledgable about the area and islands. Our rental boat was easy to use and fishing equipment was ideal. Greg gave us helpful tips on where to go exploring and how to navigate the Lough. Our trip was in the off-season so the lodge was closed but had such a great time, can't wait to visit again.

Room Tip:Â Bring a picnic if travelling onto the islands, which I would highly recommend.

Fabulous B&B just on the edge of the village. A 10 minute leisurely walk to the main street. Well equipped rooms, with towels, hand soap, sanitiser etc. We loved the games room with its full size snooker table, books, games a nice area to relax in the evening. Greg & Deirdre were a wealth of local knowledge and we enjoyed a days fishing nearby. The hot tub was a real treat. Fab breakfast each morning, especially the pancakes!

Excellent hosts, informative of area and sights to visit like Cong, Quiet man locations and local castle that had a music festival for free.
Thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality, breakfast was excellent.
GLUTEN FREE options for breakfast, hubby was delighted at choices.
Peaceful, surroundings large garden leading down to lake with boating facilities.
We lounged and took things easy in 30° of heat before dinner, very relaxing.
No hesitation in recommended this establishment, we had a fantastic stay over 4 days.

This is a delightful relaxing lodge. They have everything you need to have fun from a tennis court, to a huge billiard table, jacuzzi, fishing supplies and more but we enjoyed their cozy relaxing areas with big couches and large windows that showed us all the flowers and woodlands. Our room was great but it was nice to be able to leave it to have tea and cake in the family area

Such a amazing guesthouse, hosts were super friendly and gave great travel tips. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with great variety. Rooms and facilities spotless. Tennis court and basketball on site. Can also book in to go out on the canoes. Walking distance into the village. Lots of choice for food and shops in village. My teen loved it. Also dog friendly.

We were there four nights in June 2021. It is a very nice B&B. All very clean and homey. With a cosy, real-home feel about it. Our room was lovely, and the bed huge. The breakfast was excellent. You have to fill a card with what you prefer (and what time) the night before and everything was made to order. They have a snooker table and a tennis court. The garden is also quite pleasant, with a small river next to it. It is a bit outside the town (Oughterard) but you can very easily walk to it.
The only thing I didn't like was that the bathroom had the window bricked up, so there wasn't much ventilation and the towels especially didn't dry very much overnight. But they changed them mid stay, it was a lovely detail.
I would reconmmend it for a relaxed stay without reservation.

We loved staying at Camillaun Lodge and had the most wonderful stay. The B&B was so friendly and the breakfast was amazing (Deidre even brought me Gluten Free Bread). We had brought our road bikes and were invited to store them in the garage , and also given advice on rides both short and long. We would recommend this place wholeheartedly. It was a truly fantastic location to visit Galway, Connemara and even up to Westport in Mayo. And at night the Oughterard pubs and restaurants were great !!!! A memorable stay at a lovely B&B. Thank you so much !!!

We rented 2 fishing dinghies with outboards from Camillaun Lodge to use during our stay in June 2019. The service provided was excellent - not only was their quote the most reasonable one received, the dinghies performed faultlessly and were waiting at our rental house on the banks of Lough Corrib when we arrived.
I dropped by at the Lodge to settle our bill, Deirdre was full of good advice on things to see during our visit and places to fish. The latter sadly did not help us that much, we struggled with the fishing on Corrib, but her advice to visit the island of Inchagoill was heeded and we loved it.
Lovely people, great service, thank you!
