Travellers' Choice
Sitting along the banks of the Shannon-Erne Waterway, the Leitrim Marina Hotel is a peaceful haven, less than two hours from Dublin. With a large outdoor deck leading onto the Marina, and fully glass fronted bar and restaurant to make the most of the commanding views, this is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy great locally inspired cuisine, good Bewley's Tea & Coffee or even a cocktail between exploring the local attractions such as Arigna Mining Experience or Lough Key Forest Park.

Although covid19 safety measures are being strictly followed in this hotel I wasn't overly impressed by the room/breakfast. I booked online and the photos of the rooms advertised on the site didn't look anything like the room we stayed in. No marina views or balcony as advertised. Although the bathroom seemed clean there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and the window in our room. There was a picture missing off the wall (a row of 3 pics where one seemed to have fallen off or been removed). Not a big deal but it made the room look neglected as a result. Hot breakfast was ok but there were no pastries/breads etc on offer as the buffet was closed due to covid restrictions.

My family organised a surprise trip away from my birthday and from the moment we walked through the door the welcome was amazing we were made feel so special by Collette who went above and beyond to help in whatever way she could. I cannot speak highly enough of her as I have stayed in hotels all over the world and never experienced such friendliness or professionalism at front of house. We also had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and the food was amazing, the waiting staff were extremely good also and very professional and respectful of current covid 19 restrictions. We felt very safe at all times!! We stayed in the penthouse appt and the views were amazing and everything was spotlessly clean. We will definitely return. Thank you so much to Collette and the team for making my 40th so special and a birthday I will never forget .

On business with my wife we stayed there twice recently. Very impressed with the COVID measures - among the best we’ve come across - correct without being too obtrusive. Comfortable rooms, tasty food. Recommended

We stayed 3 nights at the Leitrim Marina Hotel in The Shannon Side Studio Apartment in an annex to the hotel. We were so happy with our choice. This is a lovely place to stay. We were checked in by the lovely Colette (I am sure management realise what an asset she is!!!) and made feel very welcome and safe. Colette gave an overview of the Covid restrictions and how they applied on our visit to the hotel. We were very pleased with the suite, it was very spacious and airy with a lovely balcony overlooking the Shannon and the Marina to the front of the hotel. We dined in the restaurant on the first evening and had a lovely meal. I require GF options and happy to see a separate GF menu with wide selection. Staff wore masks, used sanitation stations regularly and made us feel comfortable. We had drinks on the terrace and relaxed watching the boats berth. Breakfast was a positive experience In the restaurant with SD tables, good selection on breakfast menu and Danielle and Esabelle confidently took care of us each morning of our stay. The village is 2 mins away with shop/bars and restaurants at hand. It is a good location to explore lovely Leitrim. We had nice days out. There are lots to do in the Area, exploring the Shannon Blueway, a drive along the coast, Carrick on Shannon, Lough Key Park, King House in Boyle, Drumshanbo and Arigna Mines. We dined two evenings at the hotel and enjoyed both times, nice menu. We felt very relaxed on our stay and would be happy to return again. Recommend for a staycation. Thank you to all the staff at Leitrim Maria Hotel who helped made our stay so enjoyable.
