Just back from a weekend glamping in Battlebridge (we normally bring the caravan) While the weather was not great we found the pods very clean & comfortable. It had a very small stove which produced unreal heat with just a few pieces of timber kindling. We had food in the restaurant & a few drinks at the bar, all first class & good value. The smell of the turf from the fires was lovely & the owners Eilish & Joe whilst busy serving food made time to chat with us. Battlebridge is a lovely place & i would highly recommend a visit there.

We decided to holiday at Beirnes of Battlebridge glamping site for my father's milestone birthday. There was a group of 25 of us with kids included. We booked 3 pods and the henhouse for 2 nights. The pods and henhouse we found lovely and had a great weekend until we went to the beirnes onsite pub on Saturday night. A massive mistake. We sat at 8pm and our orders were taken. My mum's order was left out. The waitress that served our table was very sharp and rude from the get go. We only got our main course at 10.30pm and not all together. Some people got their main course 10 minutes before others. My father's main course came about 15 minutes later. The orders got messed up in the kitchen and they brought out food we didn't order at all . Two of the kids were standing at the bar waiting for a drink and the waitress shouted at them to sit down out of the way. When the waitress was approached about it she continued to be ignorant and sharp and was really aggressive. We then approached the owner Ailish who said when she had finished her dinner she would talk to the waitress. We then asked for the bill and at a glance noticed we were being charged for 3 main courses extra. When brought to another waitresses attention this was rectified. In a nut shell beirnes of battlebridge is not a place to bring kids as they only want your money and not your kids. We will never be back here again

What is good about this campsite nothing really to be honest if your a drinker you’ll love it a part from that it’s muck. Came on Tuesday as traveling around for the weekend so though this be a good base. Arrived on Thursday evening nobody here checked in at the pub and told to pick where ever I wished to stay and that was it given a docket with the gate number on it. This was at about 6:30 pm darkness came around 8:10 and not a light to be seen on the site it’s way to dark. But they turned the lights on on Friday night. It’s now Saturday night I’m in my van it’s 11:45pm and there sounds like there is a race happening in the pub. I’ve a 4 month old baby with me that can’t sleep and an 8 year old. The hens that’s on site must not have been out in years cause the noise of them screaming and the pub owners and the hens don’t give a you know what. the owners have gotten there money the pub is making its money and the hens are that drunk they don’t give a Never again will I return to this site compared to sites in Ireland this is very fun down and old and dated this is a site for people that want to sit in a pub all weekend while there kids run wild if it’s a family trip your looking for avoid this place at all costs. So much better out there. The website said 24 for the van €5 for the electric That’s 29 was charged €33 a night even that is over priced for what you get uneven grounds water tap on the other side of the field horrible ground chippings that end up in the van nope never again

Rang us to say they had double booked…no alternative accommodation for us. Disappointed kids. Very bad management to allow this to happen, they asked for a deposit when booking, but when the rang to cancel they said they actually didn’t take the deposit, just kept the card details instead. Surely if you intended to make the booking the deposit Wally’s have been taken? I feel they are double booking to ensure they can fill cancellations immediately. Unfair on families who then cannot find any other accommodation.

We had our 1st camping trip as a family and never again! We arrived on Saturday, on the website it says about activities for kids, boating, nature walks etc... No activities only swimming in the lake. We went to the pub onsite for dinner and after the dinner out of nowhere my 8 year old son was attacked (head punched off him) for no reason at all off a boy, the boy had autism but I'm sorry he's not going to punch the head off my son for no reason! My husband had to go over and break it up, all the staff and customers made us feel in the wrong!! We complained to staff and manager and we were told if he was normal we would do something but we can't!! No-one came over to apologise. Only for my husband went over to the mother, then the mother brought her son over to apologise. I'm thankful to the mother but disgusted with the staff. Didn't feel safe at all!!!!!

We were a group of 12 hens who booked into the hen house at berines camping site. The house was brilliant- has exactly what you need to a group of ladies for the weekend. Everyone had their space, lovely outdoor seating area, big living room and kitchen. We had bbq on our frist night in beirnes pub in the outdoor area and we had a meal in the pub on our second night. The staff were so so lovely. Genuinely they couldn't have done more and were so friendly and happy to help with anything. We rented the room upstairs above the pub for one of our activities which was so handy. Thanks so much to you all! We'll definately be back!

We visited here last weekend with friends in our caravans and a “ glamping-pod” . This site is in a really nice part of the country just beside Leitrim village and a short drive from carrickonshannon . It could have so much going for it but it hasn’t . There is a lovely pub on site selling tasty food and reasonably priced drinks staffed by helpful and friendly staff . The lady I met who owns the site was also helpful and courteous to me on arrival .. That’s where the good points end . As a caravan park it is really very poor . At night it’s black dark with little or no lighting . The road through it is riddled with pot holes and the pitches are extremely poor with very fine gravel which is constantly dragged through the caravan . They are very uneven making it difficult to get level . The water point consisted of a rickety old tap with a hose strewn along the ground and some distance from our pitch’s . The ground around is extremely boggy ( ok it’s October ) but needed to be cut . Our friends had a glamping pod . They said the bed cloths were damp and there were a lot of flys to deal with inside . They also charge €30 + per night per caravan and €100 for a pod ..not exactly cheap The toilets and showers while clean were basic enough . This site has so much potential and really needs to up its game . Sites are coming on in leaps and bounds in Ireland and battle bridge really needs to up its game ..

Rooms were fine however facilities are extremely poor and most certainly not worth the price. Interior is tacky and i felt like i was staying in my childhood room. Lamp had stain, the locker was dirty and there was cobwebs everywhere. No running water, toilets were a long walk and ridiculously dirty. There was period blood smeared on the wall. Customer service was poor but food in restaurant was good and fresh. Pot holes need to be filled. There was one curtain that didnt cover the door and didn't block out any light. It was all cheap interior and did not reflect the price per night. We are really disappointed!
