Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Restaurant staff were very good, with us having three young kids, who are loud as you'd expect. Staff were great, service was excellent and they were great to accommodate a child's notoriously picky pallet. The hotel staff, including Caroline and owner Aileen were outstanding. They couldn't do enough. I'm delighted to say I will stay here again.

Anyone wedding planning for Clare/Galway this is where you need to be. choosing The Lady Gregory Hotel was the best decision we made. Caroline was nothing short of amazing she did absolutely everything for us and was so lovely to deal with. Caroline took all the stress of wedding planning and all we did was show up and enjoy the day. The place looked absolutely stunning and the food was 10/10. I would highly recommend for anyone who is wedding planning.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Room so hot we didn't sleep a wink. Rude manager and no response. Charged me full price for the worst stay. Manager now ignoring all of my emails. Receptionist never even asked how my stay was, just that my card was charged.

A LARGE O'GRADY FAMILY REUNION WAS ARRANGED IN THIS HOTEL FOR THE 8TH & 9TH APRIL 2023. FAMILY FROM AUSTRALIA, SOUTH AFRICA, CANADA, ENGLAND AND ALL OVER IRELAND HAD A WONDERFUL TIME THANKS TO THE WAY WE WERE LOOKED AFTER BY THE STAFF AND THE MANAGEMENT IN THIS HOTEL. AS THE ORGANISER I DID NOT HEAR ONE COMPLAINT BUT THERE WERE LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS ABOUT KIND & FRIENDLY STAFF THE BEAUTIFUL HOTEL AND THE GREAT VALUE THAT WE GOT FOR OUR STAY IN THE HOTEL. WE ALREADY KNOW WHERE OUR NEXT REUNION WILL BE WHEN IT COMES AROUND AGAIN. ( note: we have no connection with the owners of this hotel and this is an honest report of our experience S.O'Grady)

So one day I decide to ring the leisure centre to ask about a membership, the nice man on the phone named cieran gave me some information and told me that I could come in for a free trial too see if I like the facilities before I choose to become a member I was instructed to say his name at the front desk and to say that he offered me a day pass I was happy so I decided to go give it a shot. I arrived at the leisure centre to the front desk where a diffrent man was working a bit older looking, so I got the membership prices off him and asked him if I could try out the facilities to see if I will like what they got to offer, he replied and said that the hotel don’t do free trials I asked if I could maybe pay for a day pass and he continued to add that it’s not possible that only way is to get a membership and I asked how can I find out if I like the facilities without trying it out and he proceeded to say it’s not possible so I decided to leave unsatisfied. Ofc after this I will not even think of getting a membership there as this man was very unfair unprofessional and not helpful at all. Most places gyms hotels offer customer a free trial so they can decide if they like the facility. Obviously that was not the case here and we all know that he could’ve easily allowed a free trial which is fair I think’ but proceeded to be rude and careless .. this is all after his colleague Ciaran offered me a free trial and said I could come in and use the facilities for the day. I drove all the way from ennis to gort just to be turned out and my time was wasted honestly that man should be fired. Thanks

The hotel was very clean. We had a very large family room which was spotless. Staff we met with were lovely. The leisure center was absolutely spotless too (although could do with a little TLC) and had a lovely time in there. My one big thing was the breakfast. It was the worst I have ever had. And we were starving. My eldest asked why the inside of the sausage looked yellow! The food was over cooked and looked like it had been reheated. We were not offered a different type of egg to what can only be described as the brown watery stuff that was the scrambled egg. Other kids were eating chocolate pancakes which out of the pace but they looked a lot better than what was on our plate. We were never offered them and only we seen it would not have know it was available. We were also squeezed into a section of the restaurant so much you could barely move and were bumping chairs with people behind you. I couldn’t understand why they did that. It was just the worst breakfast ever. I didn’t say anything to the lovely staff serving us but when checking out I told the manager (I think she was) who just went sorry about that and that was it. Nothing about speaking with the kitchen staff and we need to fix that or even a thank you for letting me know. I wasn’t trying to get money off or cause trouble but my complaint was brushed off.

Recently attended our Annual hunt ball in the lady Gregory, and I have to say what a great time we had, the food was fantastic, rooms were spotless beds were very comfortable, I met some of your lovely staff. Caroline & Aileen management what a pleasure it was to speak with you both, it is very clear that this is a very fun place to work and shines through on the staff, which is down to you, To name a small few that I had the pleasure to have had an encounter with, Alannah, Stephen, Declan, Owen and Peter Ye are all equally as friendly and professional as each other, keep up the great work ye do, Really looking forward to coming back. Thank you again. Stephen Finn

Safety hatch in room was broken open giving access to pipes, valves and electricals , markings on all walls, fault socket by bed, way too hot even with windows open, no air con,all furniture was damaged one way or another, Lift was extremely shakey we opted for the stairs from the top floor, The day after a late wedding both me and my partner had decided to stay in bed as we had migraines, this was very quickly interrupted with power tools, sawing drilling and cutting aswell as shouting on the wall directly adjacent our bedroom door, we had put up with it for 15, minutes before calling the front desk to which they affirmed they could hear it too and assured us the manager herself would call us back soon to help resolve the situation. We had waited another 20 minutes and decided to call down again as none of the noises had ceased and was simply told it should have stopped by now theyl get on it, another 15 minutes had passed and migraines on a whole new level we decided to leave, upon opening our room door the hallway was a mess construction zone screws bolts dust and tools everywhere, I went to the front desk to speak to the manager who had never contacted us I was hoping to get some sort of compensation or at the least an apology, but what we received was an excuse stating when work has to be done it has to be done. It was unacceptable placing us right across from construction work and we where basically told to deal with it, that the hotel gets work done when it wants or needs it and that was that. Very rude and un-acomadating.when we eventually returned hours later there was dust everywhere aswell as a screw on the ground outside our door, if not noticed could have caused serious injury.
