Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had travelled up for a family funeral and needed somewhere close by to stay and Cartron House Farm was perfect. Lovely cosy rooms with comfy bed. Great Shower in the bathroom. Lovely grounds around the property and so much space for parking. Breakfast was lovely. Bacon was delicious and the Homemade Soda Bread was so good. Definitely try it. Fantastic selection of foods for breakfast as well. The host was lovely and welcoming and very friendly and attentive and she made the stay all the more pleasant especially under the circumstances. Would stay here again and would recommend it to others.

We had a family reunion at Cartron House recently and had a wonderful visit. We used the cottages, B&B and venue. Everything was great. Ann and Timmy made our stay a time to remember. They go above and beyond at all times For those who stayed in the B&B we couldn’t have asked for more, clean, comfortable, calm and excellent breakfast. The cottages were well equipped, clean and comfortable. The surroundings and facilities were amazing. It’s no wonder that this place is so highly rated, it deserves all the accolades. Highly recommend Cartron House.

Cartron House is perfect for people that wish to visit the core of authentic Ireland! It is not on a main route, but in a strategic spot from where it is possible to reach many localities in the centre of the Ireland, included Galway, Doolin, Mullingar etc. Ann the manager is very lovely and friendly and accommodated us in any way. The room was cozy but with everything we need, only issue was that it wasn't completely soundproof (building is a characteristic Irish farm), but luckily this was not a particular problem :) Breakfast was amazing, with many choices available (also for people with special food requirements), everything was fresh made and served by Ann. Her scones are special, the best ones I've ever tried! Ann was taking note of the preferred time for breakfast, in case of special needs. Dinner was available on request made 24h before, and food was fresh and awesome! Wifi signal was falling quite often in the rooms upstairs, but it was ok most of the time, it could be powered up in case...and anyway we were not at the place most of the time, not an issue to unplug for a while! We will definitely visit Ann in the future, hopefully with friends or family!

After two Covid cancellations, Ann and Timmy were so supportive in helping us with our third time lucky. As a wedding venue, Cartron House is intimate, relaxed and full of character, a real hidden gem. The separate function area was perfect for the occasion and we had family staying for 2 nights in the cosy, clean guest house and on site cottages. All the rooms were comfortable and charming with all necessary amenities (and a few extras! ) and the breakfast both mornings was extremely enjoyable with a great selection. We had an amazing time and could not have asked for a better day and stay! Ann and Timmy went above and beyond. 5 stars and thanks again for everything. Kim and Raymond.

Cartron house is a stunning B&B in rural Ireland. Close to Loughrea it has gorgeous country views and the perfect venue for an intimate wedding or party. Hosts Ann and Tim are exceptionally friendly and helpful. It is definitely worth a visit and worth considering if you want a wedding or party away from the hassle and bustle.

We stayed at Cartron House while visiting family. Our room was very modern, clean and well-appointed (the Nespresso machine was much used!!). Rainwater shower was very relaxing too.The landlady was lovely and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely dinner on the second night in the house. Everything in the house is fitted to a high standard. Highly recommend.

Fantastic b+b, friendly hosts and the best Irish breakfast you'll ever experience! The room was exactly what we needed as a base for our holiday - the bed was comfortable, the shower powerful and hot and we had access to a communal kitchen and living room (and garden) if we wanted to get out of the room.

We stayed at Cartron House for 1 night on Thursday 22nd August 2019, wish it had been much longer. The owner Ann made us feel really welcome and explained where everything was and then showed us to our room. This is a dog friendly hotel, so our dog Jack -Jack was also made welcome, he was very happy to have a lovely stroll around a Kilometer walk around the property woodland pathway, which is fenced off. We were in room 2, which is a beautiful room, with a really large Super King sized bed, very nice bed linen and a spotlessly clean room. This could have been a room in a top 5* hotel, just fabulous. We had an excellent nights sleep, with a really great breakfast to look forward too. This did not disappoint either, with Fresh Fruit, Hams, Cheeses, Breads, Cereal, Jams and for me Marmite ( how thoughtful is that). There is also a good and varied choice of cooked food, I had Sausage and Scrambled Egg my wife had a Full Irish , which did outface her, but she certainly didn't go hungry. We were in fact sad to leave, but would have absolutely no hesitations, we will definitely go back. We are thinking of inviting our friends and making a mini break of it. If your looking for a peaceful, stunning location and host par excellence this is for you.
