Stayed here while working at the Irish Open. Great location. Room was excellent, serviced first thing every morning. The room had a classic look but with modern facilities . Tea making facilities also provided and a selection of biscuits, a nice touch. Highly recommend.
We stayed on 28th Msy for one night .We stay was very pleasent .The lady was very nice .The breakfast was lovely. The only issue I had was when I went to pay i was told it was cash only. This meant i had to drive approx 20 minutes to find a ATM and then go back to the B&B. The lady did apologise for the error.
We were delighted to be able to visit Helen and Abbey House again this year. I can't say enough about Helen, her hospitality, and Abbey House. Beautiful B&B right across the street from Jerpoint Abbey. Our room had a great view overlooking a stream and a meadow. Quite serene. Helen is the epitome of a host. Very charming and helpful in every respect. Room superb, breakfast excellent. The location is ideal as it is a short drive to Kilkenny and Waterford. Many interesting sites in the area. A great place to use as a base to visit the general area. Also a quaint pub in Thomastown that I quite enjoyed. Highly recommend Abbey House and will definitely visit again. Thank you Helen for another wonderful visit.
The period house is nestled in a delightful setting just about 5 minutes drive from Thomastown. Helen met us with a warm welcome and showed us to our rooms which were well appointed with recently fitted, quality, en suite shower rooms. The beds were really comfy with lovely crisp, white bed linen and an electric blanket, (It was only the 1st of March). After a very enjoyable meal in the town and a great night's sleep, we went down to the dining room and despite there being only five guests, the breakfast table was laden down with goodies! and we were then offered a freshly cooked breakfast to order. Overall, we really enjoyed our brief stay at Abbey House and without doubt will return to it. It is aĺl that is good about Irish hospitality and why this type of accommodation is a far better experience than a hotel. Oh and I forgot - it was great value too.…
The proprietor, Helen, made us feel very welcome. We had issues with a booking at other accommodations. Since it was a bank holiday, we were fortunate to find another place at all. We were especially fortunate that we wound up staying at Abbey House! Our room was generously proportioned. The en-suite bath was super (hot shower!). The breakfast offerings were abundant and delicious. Consummate hospitality! Than you, Helen and staff!
Thank you to Helen for her wonderful hospitality. The B and B was lovely. Very comfortable and homey. Helen was a most gracious host and even offered to drive us into town as we did not have a car. We rented bikes and rode from Kilkenny to the Abby House. The breakfast was wonderful and included fresh scones along with a full Irish breakfast. Both the Abby across the street and the Jerpoint Park were very interesting tours. Again, thanks for Helen for her hospitality. And the breakfast staff was lovely too.
Thanks Helen! Was lovely to stay in your house. The breakfast was over the top and we felt spoiled. The rooms where clean. Convienient to stay close to Jerpoint Abbey. The price was also ok. Hope to be back.
Recently had the pleasure to enjoy the hospitality of Abbey House while attending a recent family funeral. Despite the occasion the guesthouse provided us with a home from home in a lovely setting directly across the road from the impressive Jerpoint Abbey. Rooms were spotlessly clean and the breakfast delicious and varied. The friendly & hospitable service was matched by the gorgeous surroundings. Would loved to have stayed longer but will definitely be back. Thanks to Helen and her friendly staff.
We stayed with Helen for two days, and very much enjoyed our time. Abbey House is charming, both the house and extensive grounds. Our room and the house were immaculate, and we had the best breakfasts here in our complete trip. We both thoroughly recommend it. Thanks Helen!
A great B & B to stay in situated just outsider Thomastown in quiet surroundings beside river and Jerpoint Abbey, the rooms always clean and tidy, breakfast always so much choice of fresh fruit cheese bread and cooked breakfast, Helen always so accomadating and nothing is ever a hassle. Lovely host and a great stay. Highly recommended.
