Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly and helpful hostess, nice views, good breakfast. We would stay here again without question. Be sure to have dinner at Hudson's in Thomastown.

Spent two very pleasurable nights at Carrickmourne House with the helpful and welcoming hostess, Julie.
Breakfast was in a sunny room with a view over the valley, and included real fresh strawberries, blueberries, and fruit salad - nothing canned here. Thoroughly recommend the scrambled eggs and salmon.
The beautiful house had large and well appointed rooms. Highly recommend this B&B.

Me and my husband stayed in Julie's B&B for the weekend to attend a friends wedding that was near by. The place was very clean, quiet and the breakfast was delicious! We did a lovely walk to Thomastown, the B&B are very well located. I recommend this place, and we definitely come back!

I stayed with Julie for three nights while I toured around the Thomastown area. What a charming lady Julie is. She attended to my every need and then some. My stay could not have been more pleasant. My room was very comfortable, outstandingly clean and well-appointed. The house is situated on a hillside with a sweeping view of the Nore River valley which is as lovely by night as it is by day. I was concerned I might not be able to find the house but there are several signs posted on the New Ross Road guiding the way. I've traveled around Ireland quite a bit and this has to be one of my favorite B&B experiences. Highly recommended.

We stayed in Carrickmourne House for two days and Julie was so welcoming, our rooms were perfect, my children were delighted with their own room with their own tv, and the view from mine & my husband’s room was amazing. Breakfast was 5 star and Julie was so accommodating with times that suited us, will definitely stay again.

Myself and my husband arrived early and decided to see if we could just drop our luggage off , we were made to feel so welcome and escorted in to our room with such warmth, we stayed for four nights and the service we received throughout that time made us feel relaxed and comfortable in our surroundings, we will definitely be coming back in fact I'm going to miss being spoilt by Julie especially in the mornings when she arrives with a full Irish breakfast which is created with top quality ingredients, If your looking for a warm and inviting atmosphere, but at the same time wanting to feel relaxed I would recommend carrickmourne house any time.

Spotlessly clean, old fashioned B&B. Lovely host and food, cooked breakfast is delicious, lots of hot tea and no rush. The only down side for us, was the distance from Kilkenny town, a wee bit more than ten minutes.
