We visited Killeena House for the second time late last year and loved it so much again we plan to return a third time with friends in future. Just as was the case during our previous visit, the chalet was scrupulously clean and tidy. All rooms were well heated and there were spare blankets in the bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and the living/dining area was spacious, cosy and comfortable - truly a home from home. What also sets this place apart are the hosts, Emma and Bernie, who could not have offered us a friendlier or more helpful welcome. They manage to achieve the perfect balance between unobtrusiveness and mysteriously anticipating ones every need: all communication with them becomes a pleasure as a result of their friendly enthusiasm and exhaustive knowledge of…

Myself and my partner stayed in Killeena for 2 nights in early winter. The cottage we stayed in was super cosy. Perfect to chill and read books, write or drink copious amounts of tea and wine! Emma and Bernie are the perfect type of hosts I like, you are warmly welcomed, nothing is a hassle, but then they leave you to your own devices to potter about the gardens and settle in. Bliss. The beds are comfy and all your linen and towels are provided. I will defo stay here again. If you are after some proper down time, this is the place for you. Baltimore is a few minutes by car, but if you plan on having a few pints be sure and book a local taxi.

My partner and I escaped to scenic and tranquil west cork for a romantic weekend in September. We found the very reasonably priced Killeena house apartments on booking.com and were in for a very pleasant experience. Our hosts met us on arrival and showed us to our lovely self-catering apartment. Everything was spotless, the decor was beautiful and the apartment was quiet, bright and spacious. The grounds surrounding the estate are stunning and this is the perfect location to explore the beauty of west Cork. For a peaceful romantic getaway, this is the ideal spot and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

What an amazing spot, lovely accommodation, clean and very cosy just off the Baltimore road. Walk through the lovely gardens to the riverside, an idyllic location. Hosts are very welcoming and happy to help, keep up the good work will definitely return, highly recommended.

I stayed in one of the 'cottages' which was very trad in style, incl an open fire. Felt a million miles away for any hustle or bustle. The grounds were well kept and there's a sizeable games room. It's a great starting point for a traveller of West Cork and near Baltimore where the sun sets magnificently. My hosts were welcoming and attentive (I was even allowed to borrow one of their own personal cafetieres). If you want to get away from 'it all', you'd do far worse than check this place out

On arrival our host gave us a very hurried intro to the facilities. The apartment was basic but at first sight appeared clean. As we settled in however we noticed the smell of damp, mingled with the stale odour of cigarette smoke in the bedroom. This was not helped by the fact that only one of the 3 small windows in the bedroom were unlocked. A filthy sheepskin rug dominated the floor in the bedroom. The bedsheets felt damp. All of this cast a very long shadow over what was otherwise a very good holiday. Also, dissapointingly we had read on the accomodation website that lifts could be arranged to the local gastro pub. On arrival we were told that this was not an option.

The grounds are lovely & the sunny patio in our apartment was a really nice place to spend a lazy morning. There was a €70 cleaning fee added to the price that we hadn't been informed about. I thought it was quite sneaky how this was added on & feel it is quite a high price for a cleaning fee, it would have been better to be informed about this beforehand. Other than that very much enjoyed the stay.

Stayed with friends for a weekend while visiting West Cork. The property manager Bernie was welcoming and easy going. She showed us to the apartment, told us we were free to roam the gardens and to call to the house if we needed anything, then left us. No drama or interfering during our stay. Helpful when we needed things like extra towels, hairdryer etc. Having the bedroom and ensuite downstairs was different but understandable as the big window upstairs looks out on the wooded area that leads to the river. The gardens and short stroll to the river was a bonus. The property itself was beautiful - Like an old farmhouse and stables converted to apartments. We enjoyed our stay here. We were so busy on boat trips and Island hopping we would love to have had more time to enjoy the…

Killeena House is a beautiful little place in a very beautiful part of the world. We stayed here for 5 nights in a 2 bedroom accommodation. We were met on arrival with the keys and shown to our accomodation. It was much larger than I was expecting, very large sitting room and kitchen and a conservatory at the back. It had everything we would would need for our stay and was extremely clean throughout. There's plenty of food shopping options available in skibbereen,a large Supervalu,Lidl and Aldi. There's also a small convenience store in Baltimore. Killeena House is perfectly located to explore all that West Cork has to offer but also offers a quiet place to get away from it all.

A few friends came for a wedding. We had a lovely stay, very quiet and beautiful location. The apartment I stayed in was a bit smaller but had what we needed. The kitchen and bathroom area was clean and it felt like a home, more than a guesthouse, very charming. What our apartment was lacking (such as a microwave) it was found in the bigger apartment that my friends had. The bed and pillow were comfortable. The wedding took place at the Inish Beg and the walk over was magical, we also walked during the evening and the light sensors turned lights on that led the way back home. Would have loved to spend more time there, hopefully, another time. The mobile Wifi (paid 10 EUR for it) did not work very well but as it was mentioned to us, this is in the country so you can't expect…
