Detailed Reviews
Couldn’t speak more highly of this hotel. From the very first conversation with Kate, everything was so easily organised. Being in a wheelchair myself, our room was unbelievably spacious and with a view across the whole of Baltimore bay and Sherkin Island. It was just incredible. The quality of both the bar food and in the main restaurant where absolutely top-notch. All in all, one of the nicest most friendly hotels that I’ve ever stayed in. Keep doing what you’re doing Kate, it’s fantastic.
Many thanks.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but had lunch on their terrace overlooking Baltimore’s attractive harbour. We enjoyed fantastic local oysters, sirloin steak and fish and chips, together with Guinness. Friendly, efficient service. We had no trouble getting a table during the Covid slowdown - I imagine, when normal times return, things could get much more busy at this pretty place in County Galway’s far west.

This hotel was just perfect, location was unbeatable, a lovely buzz, decent food, excellent staff and a traditional but great quality breakfast with a view. I went with a friend and we both had to work remotely during the day, the hotel was so accommodating in finding quieter areas for us to work in. Great value in comparison too.

This was a difficult hotel to review. The location was excellent, right on the Harbour front and arguably the best location in town. We booked their last room available which was described as small with a small double bed. The room was better than described but was not ideal. It backed onto the back of the kitchen and was noisy with staff loading bins etc. The rate of €150 per night did not seem to be great value for money. The restaurant was extremely busy with pretty much everyone in town coming for dinner or takeaway. They were not taking bookings and it was roll up only and as hotel guests I would have expected to have been given some priority over non residents but that was not the case.
From a Covid perspective I felt this hotel should have been better (especially compared to the hotel we stayed at for the 3 nights before). None of the staff wore masks at any point which gave us cause for concern.
The town itself is lovely and we would highly recommend a day trip to Shirken Island, it is just stunning.

Sightseeing in West Cork and drove into Baltimore, we were hungry and with not much choice went here for lunch.Staff didn't bother explain that you have to go inside to get your own menu and order, while they stood behind the bar chatting. Cutlery was wrapped in a serviette but when pizza arrived we were told pizza cutters were in a tub inside, so much for covid hygiene. Saw another couple walk out shortly after they arrived. Staff need training and menus provided to customers on arrival. We wouldn't have bother stay only it was a long drive to the next town. Pizza was OK but service badly let it down, just avoid it.

I think this hotel could do with an upgrade. It's a good location, but very tired. And the overwhelming stench of fryer oil was not pleasant. It has potential but I wouldn't return to stay, I would have a drink in the courtyard at the front on a sunny day though, thats lovely. But be warned the drinking finishes quite late if you're sleeping in a harbour facing room. Breakfast extremely basic.

What a lovely hotel , good pricing that included a Wonderful Irish breakfast . Great views over the harbour and a nice pub underneath that wall a great fun.
The main restaurant was still closed (Covid 🥵) but GREAT pub food from the Jolie Bries next door . Pizza was great , moule Mariniere even better.
Great outdoor seating area with waiter service for drinks and food , facilities at the hotel were a little basic but really good, we had a lovely harbour facing room.

Exceptionally well-managed hotel, with great attention to detail in the room. Right on the harbour - it can be noisy during the evening, if you have a room at the front of the hotel, but it's not an issue.
Kate the owner is a really warm, hospitable host. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the breakfast is top quality.
The hotel is accessible for the boats to the islands (no cash machine in Baltimore, so if you need cash, get it in Skibbereen).
We'll be back - it's a great spot.

Congratulations to the Waterfront hotel. Despite some restrictions the hotel and their amazing staff provide a wonderful experience. We enjoyed a weekend in one of their gorgeous rooms with a view of the bay. Bar food and drink served by team of professional and energetic guys and girls.
Thanks to Manager Katie for ensuring that our visit was a great success.
