Detailed Reviews
Hotel was in a great location, 5 minute walk to the train station that goes into the city, right on the seafront in the heart of Cobh. The room I paid for was a non sea view but we ended up in a sea view room which I was delighted with! The room was nice, had a double and single bed. There was just 2 of us, so it was nice to have the extra space if needed! Room was very clean, and location was quiet and hotel was quiet. The dinner was gorgeous, the breakfast was ok, the full irish was missing a few items. The reception staff were amazing and so kind! There was a gentleman who I spoke to on the phone the day before checking in (I didn't get his name) but he came up to us at dinner and remembered who I was which was a nice touch and had a chat. The staff working on breakfast and dinner however were abit rude, myself and my boyfriend felt they had little to no interest and were very blunt and short, food was good though. Overall the stay was great, great price, and great location!

This hotel is very central to everything in Cobh, the views from the bedrooms facing the front of the hotel are spectacular, you can see Spike island & haulbowline . The rooms are very clean & the beds are comfortable. This hotel brings you back to the early 1900s , it has a very vintage / Victorian feel . Staff were very friendly & accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Went on a trip during our wedding anniversary. This hotel has the best location if you want to visit popular attractions in Cobh including the Titanic Museum and Spike Island. We had a beautiful sea view room and it was so spacious and clean. Breakfast was also great. They also went above and beyond by leaving us sweets and a note for our anniversary. We’ll definitely book here again if we ever go back to Cobh!

I was downgraded to a so called "deluxe room with no seaview" (certainly not deluxe as its very small and quite rundown) because there was only two of us staying after we paid €245 for one night in a family room, Paid for a family room with seaview and ended up staying in a "deluxe room with no seaview". Hugely disappointing as a deluxe room certainly was not deluxe, it is a small cramped room overlooking leafs, moss and dirt on a flat room of another building.
After paying €245 for one night for two adults, breakfast wasn't even included.
No refunded offered, requested a phonecall on Saturdaymorning, still no phonecall.on Monday.

Dear Lightpacker635239, I do believe you spoke with a member of our team on the Monday and she had explained that she would have to follow up the inquiry with the manager who was in contact with you during the week and all was in order afterwards. Kind Regards

Where do i start? The room was amazing (sea view) one large double bed and a single bed. The room itself is old but very very clean with great high celings. The little rubber ducky on your toilet/loo roll is just a cute little topper to the room. The location is amazing been centrual to everything and only around 5ish mins from the train station, with the sea view we were lucky enough to see a cruise ship dock and depart once we were there. Will be coming back here again if im ever in Cobh again.

We recently held a Laurel and Hardy convention in Cobh and we based it at the Commodore Hotel. We booked out the entire hotel for the weekend for our delegates' accommodation and held 3 evening banquets there. The banquet menus offered 3 separate choices of starters and mains plus vegetarian/vegan options and there was a completely different menu for each evening. The food was excellent and our 110 delegates were very complimentary about the high standard of the meals, the friendliness of the staff and the overall great atmosphere at the Commodore. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Commodore for your stay in the area and if you are thinking of hosting a large event we found that Sabrina and her colleagues were extremely helpful throughout the planning period. Its a great hotel in a fantastic location.

As a Tour Guide I have been to Cobh many time, however I never stayed over night, until last night when I stayed in The Commodore Hotel Cobh. When I made my booking over the phone I spoke to Eadaoin who was very helpful. On arrival Eadaoin was there to greet me, once again was very helpful and friendly, she arranged Car Parking for me and gave me a loverly room with a view of the sea. The room was spacious with all mod cons. I went down for dinner and was served by Sean who is full of knowledge of this historic hotel which dates from 1854, however the decor is up to date and very well finished, Sean also told me about all the attractions in the general area. My dinner was first class and as I asked for.
All the staff I spoke to were very friendly and helpful. All in all The Commodore Hotel is a great place to stay, as someone once said “I will be back”

Popped into the bistro for a bite to eat after the spike Island tour. Waited a few minutes for a table and order taken within 10 minutes of been seated. Order came after 20 minutes. There were 5 of us but only 4 meals came out after sitting for 10 minutes I had to go to the bar and look for mine I was told I didn't order it and he would put it through. A lady/manager came down and apologised and stated that he never put it through on the system so I HAD ordered it. I was waiting nearly 15minturs and by the time it had come everyone else had finished theirs
At this stage I was ready for home and ate only half the chicken which was small and far too much garlic sauce. Definitely not worth the money €19 for a chicken Kiev and chips and a spoonful of coleslaw I wouldn't be returning

This hotel is undergoing make refurbishemnts so people need to be aware of this. On saying that we had room 207. Has had a make over, beautiful walk in shower. Glorious. Very comfy beds and pillows. House keeping staff namely Kelley was fantastic. All the staff are excellent, could not find fault with any of them. Breakfast not great. Not hot and an extra charge of €1.90 for a glass of juice. Other than that would def return.

Stayed here two nights They charged me €90-00 per night for a single room which I booked through my booking.com and did this did not include a fully cooked breakfast.
two weeks after booking my room the hotel sent me a email saying they were going to give me a complementary bag with fruit, drink and a muffin that would be left on my door each morning Yes they did one small orange, one small fruit juice and one small muffin not impressed This was a insult This is something you would leave for a child. I was also sent notice that I had to pay €360 24 hours in advance .
when I challenge this the manager told me it was company policy and of coarse they put it all down to Covid.
This was just like buying a Pig in a Poke. I have booked into various hotels during Covid and I never had to pay up front and had a full sit down cooked breakfast
This really annoyed me and it took the Gloss of my two day break.
They were no valves on my room and bathroom radiators therefore I could not turn on the heat. I could not even have a bath as the bathroom was cold.
This another cost saving exercise by the hotel management. This has proved my point earlier buying a pig in a poke.
To explain my overall stay it was a disaster. I will for sure not be staying here ever again What a rip off. and for sure I certainly won’t be recommending this hotel to my friends.

No entertainment at night.
Limited off street parking at back of hotel, safe and secure.
15-18 spaces.
Hope this helps
I got a double for sole use but it may only be a single bed. It's certainly not a cupboard.
I know it’s too late to answer the question for you. But for other travellers we parked outside.the meters were broken but we were advised to walk up as far as the sweet shop to buy a ticket as the parking inspectors issue fine tickets all the time.
Thanks, folks. Commodore Hotel met our needs :-) We were able to watch as our ship sailed right into Cobh. We then moseyed on down to the dock and hopped on board. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy.
