I visited Robin Hill in Cobh for three nights at the end of October.I live in Turkey and this was my third visit here.I invited a friend from Dublin to come with me and experience Robin Hill for herself. She thoroughly enjoyed it and hopes to return end of December. I love the cozy feel and ambiance here and always feel very relaxed after a visit.Deirdre the owner and her staff are lovely and make everyone very welcome. My room was comfortable and bed very relaxing. Breakfasts were delicious. I had Acupuncture which really made me feel so much better as I suffer with my back etc and I found the treatment super and only regretted not having enough time to have another session. Deirdre is a wonderful cook and we ate in on Friday night to delicious tapas. We enjoyed it so much that we had the Tapas again on Saturday night.Portions were very big and tasty..The craic as we Irish say was great with plenty of laughter and fun just what we needed and we also loved the cozy fire and ambiance. When I am next in Ireland I will definitely come back for a visit.Deirdre and her team deserve to be supported.…
Stayed here this summer for a few nights. A really lovely place. My wife left a jacket behind after we’d left. Deirdre, the owner, contacted us and then sent us the jacket through the post, refusing reimbursement. We were really impressed with her willingness to go the extra mile. Thoroughly recommended!
Lovely building, room was nice. Breakfast was absolutely superb, which kept me going until tea, which included the most amazing black pudding I've ever tasted! Lovely lounge area with log fire. Only issue had was trying to connect to wifi.
I came to this place for piece and quiet. It was not to be. There was building work going on from 8 in the morning. This is not good enough for the exorbitant prices they charged. There was also a dog barking non stop. When I complained about this I got no satisfaction. Wont be staying here again.
We were welcomed and checked in without difficulty, very friendly staff. Room was as advertised, however felt the bathroom window could have been at least partially frosted as it overlooked the carpark and felt quite exposed when getting a shower. Our shower drain was quite blocked and the water would build up around the basin when using the shower. The room could benefit from somewhere/something to put suitcases on, maybe removing the two chairs as it was very tight when needing to get something from the suitcases. We stayed in for tapas on our first night, however felt we were neglected to an external group who were dining there- one of our dishes was undercooked (non-edible) and when we asked the staff member for attention she said we'd have to give her minimum 10minutes!! She never came back after that, but we got someone else who apologised and removed the food, offered us something else and made sure it would be removed form our bill. The food was good and reasonably priced. Would recommend the steak and patatas bravas. Because of this group, we also had to pre-order our food and were told we couldn't order extra tapas later if we wanted more because there was a group in! Not really good enough for paying guests. We did however really enjoy sitting infront of the fire after dinner and watching a movie with a cold beer- very relaxing and just what was needed half way through our busy holiday. Final note was having to pay extra for breakfast- just remove "breakfast included" from your site and this would not be an issue- almost every review says it!!…
