Detailed Reviews
Nealie runs a perfect bed and breakfast. He not only built the spacious and lovely house, he makes guests feel at home and welcome. From the Irish bank notes (framed) in the foyer to the quiet and comfortable beds, all details were perfect.
You will be able to walk to town centre (10 minutes) and feast on seafood at the port and square. Nealie will direct you to a best choice, depending on your tastes.
Make your reservation early. We 5 cyclists stayed downstairs while the 14 hikers were upstairs. Great memories. Thanks, Nealie.

Very friendly and helpful older gentleman as host. Delicious breakfast in a cozy dining room, hot breakfast of your choice and with advance order the evening before. Rooms are rather rustically furnished but well equipped with everything you need, e.g. kettle and tea bags for making tea. Hairdryer available. Sufficient parking available. Heating could be regulated by yourself. Quiet location, about 1km to the center. We stayed there for two nights while passing through and were very satisfied.

Great host, could not of been nicer. I was let down by another BnB in the area late in the evening and summer hill took me in after an emergency and made me feel at ease. I would recommend to anyone going to castltownbere and I will definitely be staying here again when I return for work. The room was lovely and clean.

Neil was so friendly and welcoming. The B&B was clean and cozy and the food was delicious. It was conveniently located only a few minutes walking from town and with easy access to all the local sites. Parking was also easy. IT was an all around wonderful experience! Highly recommend them for your Beara stay.

Gracious host. Lovely establishment, spotlessly clean and welcoming. Cornelius provided us with helpful advice for locating sites in the area we were interested in visiting. Would highly recommend Summerhill bed and breakfast to anyone.

Meeting Neilus reminded me as to why its called Ireland of the Welcomes! And it was a genuine, warm, friendly reception we got. Myself and my friend stayed one night on our Hiking holiday to Dursey Island. We got 2 lovely, super clean rooms with a great shower en suite.
He gave us some great local recommendations for dinner (we settled on Murphys...excellent). Next morning we could smell the delicious cooked breakfast before we got downstairs. What a great breakfast, prepared and served by himself, complete with a helping of good stories.
Neilus shared some of his interesting life and he obviously loves spending time with his guests.
Highly recommended. A real 'find', only 10 minutes walk from the centre of the town.
We will be back, without a doubt. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely home with a bit of walk out of town. Your host is friendly and very accommodating. I had to do a bit of work and I was able to sit in the breakfast room with no problems. When I was leaving Neil, the host, spent time showing me the way I was going to walk that day.

We had a lovely stay and Nealie made us feel right at home. He was very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were lovely, clean and spacious. The breakfast was delicious. The property is central to everything we wanted to visit and is only a short walk from the town. We really enjoyed our stay and can't thank Nealie enough.

This property is an excellent place to rest your weary bones after a lot of sight seeing. Neil the owner made us so welcome and basically give us the run of the house, made it like home from home.
Would definitely visit again if was in this part of the world.
