We stayed in this immaculate bed and breakfast as we were walking the Beara Way from Castletownbere to Garinish. If you are walking the Beara Way, this is a perfect stop for the night as it is located on the route. It is also situated in Castletownbere and it's many restaurants, pubs and shops. Mary is an excellent host and provides a wonderful breakfast experience.
We have a really enjoyable stay here and liked it and Castletownbere very much indeed. The room we had was spotlessly clean and quiet. The breakfasts served were so tasty, beautiful fruit salad with blueberries and kiwi fruit , freshly made bread and scones and a made to order cooked breakfast. The owners could not have been kinder and nicer. The dining room has very nice comfy sofas and the outside sun terrace is a perfect spot to catch the sun. Castletownbere is a lovely town , most of the tourists are walkers and runners . We did the Bere Island Parkrun which we would highly recommend. The walks in the area are so so nice , particularly recommend the ten km loop to the old mining areas which goes through beautiful costal paths with amazing viewers. A great stay in a pretty town !…
Stayed here for several nights. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean. The breakfasts were very fulsome. Mary is very friendly. Knockanroe House is ideally located. The town shops, pubs and eateries are all within a leisurely stroll. A nice touch is the lovely breakfast room-light bright and airy. A cable TV is available at the rear of the breakfast room. There is a large balcony area available for relaxed viewing of the township/port. The driveway is a little steep but there is safe on-street parking if you so prefer. Our stay at Knockanroe enhanced our visit to Castletownebeare.
We love Castletownbere and so this visit we stayed for several nights with family close by. Unfortunately I was sick in bed for a few days but Mary Kearney's B&B was perfect as it is comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was wonderful in a cheerful room with lots of light. It si located close enough to walk to the main square in town with many great pubs and shops and of course...very friendly people.
My husband and I have just returned from Castletownbere where we stayed for two nights at Knockanroe House B&B. We got a warm welcome from Mary, a very comfortable bed, a good shower and a fabulous breakfast. The room was small but very clean and had plenty storage. There was a lovely terrace with a view over the town and harbour. This is something not often found in a B&B. There was limited parking onsite but lots of free parking on the road. Overall, our stay was a very relaxed and pleasant one. I would highly recommend Knockanroe House B&B.
