The very best B&B this side of the continental divide! Ann and Teddy make you feel very welcome and are sincerely interested in hearing about your life. Rooms are very clean and morning breakfast delicious. Peggy Linehan-Collins Davenport, Iowa
Ann and Teddy Black are the hosts of a Bed & Breakfast with a nice view over Bere Island. The B&B has nice rooms, a very good breakfast and Ann and Teddy doing more than being "just" hosts. Besids the nice atmosphere Teddy - the Storyteller or Seanachai - has always a good story to tell. Some are funny and other stories provide an insight in the history of ireland. Very interesting! So, if ou want to have a good time, a nice accommodation - take a rest at the Seapoint Lodge!
My father and I stayed here in July 2012. While we had stayed in many a bed and breakfast during our time in Ireland, all fell short of the mark when compared to the Seapoint Lodge. Ann and Teddy made us feel like family rather than guests. They wanted to spend time with us and our conversations were incredible as well as insightful. We were on foot and Ann took the time to help up in taking the right buses while Teddy would help us find the perfect places to hike. The rooms were perfect and comfortable. It was a picturesque walk into town. The breakfasts were delicious. Seapoint even has a common room where we could watch local t.v., check email, or relax. Our trip to Ireland was marked with a very serious accident after only two days in the country. Our initial goal was to hike the Wicklow Way, however, because of the accident this was not possible. It was decided that Castletownbere (and all the day hikes in the area) might be a good destination. Because of the Seapoint Lodge, this trip became a once in a lifetime memory that will be cherished. Thank you, Ann and Teddy, for all that you did.…
We stayed at this B&B in August 2011 and had a wonderful time there. The hosts are Ann and her husband Teddy, who were incredibly friendly and offered help whenever it was needed! They even wrote down directions for us and gave us tips on where to go and what to do in the area. Both rooms (one twin and one double room) are furnished simply and tastefully and were very clean! You can't hear any traffic noise from either room. I stayed in the double room with a lovely view of the bay (see pictures) and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was very tasty. You can chose between a full Irish breakfast or just have some cereal, yoghurt, fruit and bread. Contrary to a lot of commercial B&Bs, this B&B enables you to have a more friendly and individual experience of the Beara peninsula and to get in touch with the locals! If you're up for it, Ann and Teddy will happily make a cup of tea and have a chat, or tell a story about Ireland... We enjoyed this informal and friendly atmosphere very much and therefore hope to come back and visit this B&B again.…
