Beautiful place immersed in stunning nature. Peaceful. Quiet. The hosts were amazing. They made us feel at home and were super accommodating. They went out of their way and even shipped back home for us a jacket we left there. A wonderful unique unforgettable experience.
Would highly recommended staying here - the hosts were so friendly and welcoming; rooms were spick and span; breakfast was homemade, generous and delicious; and the garden is a delight. Will be back myself, for sure!
What a beautiful, relaxing break away. Thank you so much Rita & Lainey for your warm welcome and kindness. I love your home and your garden, especially love your beautiful little cove, water a bit cold 😉 but, worth the swim.
I recently had a memorable two night stay at Bellatrix, and I am currently planning my return trip. From booking to check out, Rita and Lainey could not have been more helpful in guiding and advising me to get the most of my limited time in this beautiful part of Ireland. I swam, enjoyed whale & dolphin watching as I hiked the pennisula & visited Dzogchen Beara for coffee and reflection, all on Rita's recommendation. The accomodation was comfortable, clean, tranquil and perfectly suited my needs. I left renewed. I recommend a stay in this special place.
We stayed for a whole week this August and enjoyed our time at Bellatrix thoroughly. The place was clean, cosy and came with all appliances you need for a self-catering short holiday (we stayed during the Covid-19 restrictions). Rita and Lainey were very welcoming and offered a lot of advice on different activities we could do in the Beara Peninsula. We loved going for a swim every evening in the tiny and picturesque cove beach that is a 15 minutes walk from Bellatrix. One of the best things about our stay was a beautiful and lush garden with a cat always up for some cuddles. The place is run by two very kind and sound women and we could not ask for better hosts and atmosphere. We will certainly be back :) Dagmara & Gosia
Just a short stroll away from the sea there is a magical place on Beara peninsula where you feel at home immediately: Bellatrix. It’s very cosy, surrounded by a lovely garden and run by two wonderful women that do their best to care for you having a great time there. You will laugh lots, enjoy delicious food, a sweet cat’s company (if you like) and pure beautiful nature. Rita’s hikes are special and so is everything about Bellatrix. Thank you so much for the unforgettable time, Rita and Lainey!! :)
We truly enjoyed our time at Bellatrix. Rita presented us with delicious breakfasts each morning and then provided us with information for fun hikes. Everything about this place is tranquil and pleasant.
I stayed at Bellatrix for five nights this July, and was absolutely delighted with my experience. Rita and Lainey are excellent hosts--warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the area. I especially appreciated how they took the trouble to find out about each guest's interests and fitness levels, so that they could recommend things to do in the area, and spots that were accessible, depending on whether the guests were travelling by bike or by car. My room was comfortable and spacious, with a gorgeous view of the mountains, and the breakfasts were varied and delicious. I really enjoyed chatting with Rita and Lainey, and appreciated the fun and inclusive atmosphere that they create. As a female travelling alone, I felt that I was in a safe space, and that I was looked out for, in a kind, helpful, and unobtrusive way. I would warmly suggest Bellatrix as a destination for female travellers, and as an excellent base from which to see the stunning Beara peninsula. Allihies is a 20 km bike ride away, and Dzogchen Beara Buddhist centre is easily accessible by bike or by car.…
We had a beautiful stay at Bellatrix, a brilliant setting to relax and explore. The welcome was friendly and relaxed and the accommodation is very comfortable. Rita made us delicious breakfasts every morning and gave us very good instructions for walks and drives around this stunning peninsula. We met with women from all over the world and even had an impromptu night of music with some French visitors and locals playing accordions and dulcimer! Highly recommended, thank you to Rita and Lainey.
Rita & Lainey run a very welcoming B&B, relaxed, friendly and with helpful info about the locality, walking routes, places to eat and just about any information you may need. I stayed for four days sightseeing, walking, indulging in Rita's Shiatsu treatment (not to be missed) and visiting local attractions including the Dzogchen beara meditation centre, Beara Island and the spectacular Healy Pass. A nearby cove for swimming and forest walk around the house made this the ideal base for a chill out break.
