Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Location is very good.
Parking on the street and public carpark across the road.
A bottle bank just across the road can be noisy.
Clean rooms with towels.
Didn’t avail of breakfast so cannot comment on it.
The shower hose needs replacing as more water came out of the hose than shower head.

Barry’s b&b is a little gem located right on the marina . You get free parking opposite . The room is basic with no tv but who needs tv when you’re on holiday . The bedding and room is very clean . Lovely hot shower . And wifi . You also get a continental breakfast thrown in with soda bread, jams, fruits, cheese and salmon . Juice and tea and coffee . Homely little place that’s responsibly priced too . The only small issue for me was there was no mirror in the bedroom and the plug socket is not near the bathroom with a mirror to dry your dry etc . So I dried and styled my hair blind so to speak haha . But definitely a thumbs up for us . Thank you .

Brilliant location next to Bantry Bay. A short walk from anything you need.

Barry is super helpful and will gladly give you tips to make your trip as good as possible.

He also provided a really nice breakfast the following morning and the en-suite room was very nice and cosy.

Lovely and clean, nice breakfast the next morning which I wasn't expecting. Kevin is a lovely man and gave us good tips about the area. The accommodation is in an ideal location, in walking distance from everything and I easily got parking just across the road.

Stayed here for one night and it was ideal. Had a late arrival and they were most helpful. Super access to the quaint pubs in the beautiful town as well as the charming view of the bay which is a delight to wake up to. It is simple, clean, warm with a very welcoming host. Will return again!

We stayed here for 1 night. It's in a great location, plenty of on street free parking. Kevin is a really pleasent man. Gave us a few tips of nice places to visit.
This B&B is very good value, it's basic, but very clean & comfy beds. He offers a lovely continental style breakfast.
A real little gem of a place to use as a base for touring around.

I loved this B&B! It was right in the town centre so you could easily walk to places to eat, drink and shop. I'm a complete travel planning nerd so I like to check out places on Google street view. If you are like me, you will be very surprised when you arrive. The outside has been updated with fresh paint, the inside of the house looks like it has also been redone recently. There is a large sitting room on the first floor as soon as you walk in. The foyer is very inviting. It brought a smile to my face walking in the front door. We had a twin room on the 2nd floor that faced the street. It was a great view and offered a breeze coming into the windows off of the water. We got there early enough to get a parking spot right out front on the street. If you miss that opportunity there is a parking lot right across the street. It looked like it was free to park there. I didn't notice a pay and display kiosk. The beds were very comfortable. Our host was fantastic! I really enjoyed chatting with him. He asked what our plans were for the day. When I told him he gave me a great suggestion. He said we should drive the entire Beara Way route rather than cutting it short. That was the best suggestion we had the entire trip!! Thank you!

If you make a right out of the front door and walk towards the bay you will find a very nice paved walkway along the water. We really enjoyed the walk. Keep an eye out for seals!

The only thing I didn't like was the amount of traffic that drove by all hours of the night. I thought it was an odd amount of traffic for a dead end road. If noise like that doesn't bother you then it won't be a big deal. I'm just a light sleeper.

Adequate but no more. Room was cleanish but without tea making facilities or TV. Beds not made ready for 2nd night stay. Continental breakfast only which was fine. Lesson learnt- check details thoroughly before booking! Kevin was friendly enough as host but imo with little effort.

Room basic but fine, came to room from our night after midnight out to be greeted with an infestation of fruit flies, on further investigation found other signs of them around the room.

Will definitely not be back.

Location is great & owner friendly.
