We spent two wonderful nights in Ilen Cottage. The cottage was clean and cosy. Prosecco on arrival and some sweets, which were a lovely unexpected treat! We had full use of the cinema room with surround sound and comfy chairs, we brought our own fluffy blankets which really just added to our comfort. The hot tub was amazing, easy to use and we really enjoyed it especially in the miserable weather, it really made us forget all about it. The cottage was ideally situated just off a quiet main road away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to the town that we could drive in and we even ordered a takeaway on even. The bed was comfortable, and everything was spotless, they even left a hot water bottle as I did find the heat escaped in the high ceiling room so that was put to good use! Honestly cannot fault the cottages and we will definitely be back!

We are regulars visitors to cottages for couples. We stayed here for NYE and came here again at the weekend for valentines. We always praise this place and come here often,we prob come here 3 to 4 times a year. The only thing I would say needs improving is the pillows are very flat in river Lodge 2 and needs updating. There was bit of cobwebs near the door going into the shower. Prob could do with anti slip mat for the shower cos can be quite slippy. Although the lodge is eco it does have incredible amount of condensation cos they are no vents in the lodge so in the mornings the front door and sliding door and windows are soaken. I do wish there was a loyalty system for return guests when we booked it we were charged higher rate cos coming up to valentines week but 2 days later seen it advertised on their Facebook page they were offering €50 off per night if ya stayed between 9-13th Feb and we were checking in on the 9th so this was bit disappointing. All in all this is only minor issues and can he improved on. It is a beautiful lodge and would recommend it. Also just for ya to know the local Chinese (dynasty) delivers to this cottage although its not mentioned in their welcome book if anyone craving a Chinese when there :)

My wife and I stayed in lassanroe barn 14th and 15th of August 2023 and will not be returning ever again. The place was just not clean, stains on the uncomfortable couch cobwebs and spiders everywhere especially the ceiling over the bed. Any thing we used out of the kitchen had to be washed first. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable i have slept in. The highlight of our stay was suppose to be the hot tub which was not working in fact the plug had almost gone on fire, i text peter to inform him and sent a picture. The reply had no apology or a thank you for informing him only stating it was working earlier that day and would get someone to look at it tomorrow. To be fair it got fixed but not up to temperature for the next evening so we had a luke warm hot tub experience. When you go to stay anywhere you expect the place to at least be clean free of cobwebs and comfortable, for the price we paid the basics were not even met and there was no sign of luxury anywhere only mesh on windows to stop insect and a plug in rodent and insect repellent device(not something you would normally see in a place of luxury) For what we experienced definitely not value for money not even close Would like to know if peter has anything to say

What can I say! We stay in Lassanaroe Barn & it was beautiful. The detail from the little carton of milk in the fridge to the easiest most relaxing experience of having to only open the front door and unwind from there. The little touch of the Prosecco and the hot tub is a real treat. Our only downfall is we wished we booked another night. Amy & Stephen

We loved the comfort and privacy of this stay. The house is cosy, comfortable and well equipped. Kitchen was very well set up with everything needed to cook for yourselves and we appreciated the complementary bottle of bubbles, milk and basics like tea coffee etc. Cinema room was a treat on a rainy day and the outside space with farmland views was very pleasant. Hot tub was also fab. We would highly recommend as a relaxing getaway for two and hosts were very nice to deal with.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed in the Riverbank Cottage. It had originally been booked for November 2020 but due to covid our stay had been moved twice. Anna and Peter were an absolute pleasure to deal with, where changing dates was no issue and they are extremely quick to respond! It made changing plans very efficient. We finally got to stay in June 2021 where we arrived at the riverbank cottage on a lovely sunny evening travelling up the small lane way in the most beautiful scenic and quiet location. As the sun peaked through the trees we entered the small gateway and proceeded into our cottage where we were greeted with an ice bucket with prosecco and two champagne glasses and a chalkboard with a lovely welcome message. The cottage has been renovated beautifully and there isn’t one joint or corner left undone. It has been finished to the highest standard with all of the utensils you could need. There was tea/coffee supplied along with milk in the fridge. The bedroom had the most beautiful hot tub and there was two robes left on our bed with rose petals and a small teddy Romeo to say hello!
Netflix is provided on all televisions and there were two speakers for playing music, lots of fridge space and soap and shampoo provided. There are so many beautiful beaches and seaside towns to see while based at couples cottages and it really gives the customer a great base to explore west Cork!
The cottage was the most memorable and romantic place we have ever stayed and it really felt like we were in the French countryside especially when going abroad is difficult to do at the moment! I couldn’t imagine Anna and Peter getting any bad reviews and I am so excited to return again! For anyone worried about the journey to skibbereen, it is long forgotten once you begin to soak in the jacuzzi or hot tubs provided and experience a total escape with a friend or partner. Many thanks to Anna and Peter for everything!
Cathy and Ben.

Not Long Back From Courtyard Cottage 2. This was our second time back to the cottages and once again the service and detail was absolutely amazing! The little details and personal touches truly make it feel like a home away from home. Each Cottage has everything you need for the most relaxing time away!Peter and Anna are a dream to deal with when booking and are very helpful with suggestions on what to do and where to eat! Skibberean is most definitely one of the nicest towns we have visited. We had breakfast in a new restaurant dillons corner and the service, food and people could not have being more friendly, We also ate the the church restaurant and would highly recommend. Thank you again to Peter and Anna for another fabulous weekend, we really really look forward to returning again soon!

We are return guests and have been coming here for the last 3 years and have tried the Treehouses and Courtyard 1 and 2. We stayed in courtyard no 2 and always enjoy our stays. Courtyard no 2 can do with a little bit of TLC a new coach as back of the couch kinda falling down a new TV in the room as TV not working properly and bit of small maintenance to the bathroom. The shower is tiny and ya would not want to be too tall and the shower head holder was very loose so it's these little things that can make a massive difference. The bed was so comfortable much better than when we stayed after Xmas in courtyard 1 it needed a brand new mattress. If it's your first time coming to Grove house cottages ya wouldnt be disappointed as ya would not notice the little things and it really is a special place but as a return guest you would notice some areas that need attention and hope this will become rectified. I think it would be nice in the welcome letter to say welcome back to their return guests cos that adds a more of personalised touch to it and perhaps a loyalty system for those that keep coming back?

ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL!! 1st off due to bad directions we arrived a little late on Monday. Thankfully our late arrival was not an issue but both my husband and I had looked forward to a good night's sleep. Unfortunately we didn't sleep too sound as the bed was terribly uncomfortable. To make matters worse we received a knock on the door Tuesday evening from the owner Peter, who wrongly accused us of using our neighbors hot tub, which WE DID NOT!! the mannerism we got was outmost outrageously rude. Only for us paying down the full price of a whopping €500 we would have left there and then. May I also mention throughout our stay we were absolutely freezing. We were supplied with zero fire wood or any oil in the radiators. Needless to say we will NEVER be returning to this god awful place.

Hi Melanie, I am so sorry for the late response, I have not seen your message.
We have been to Courtyard Cottage 1 and 2, also we went to one of their tree houses. The tree house was the most private but to be honest, all 3 were private enough! We liked all of them!
You can check their prices on their website, I think it is easier as they have different prices:
cottagesforcouples. ie
Hope I could help even if I am 1 year late! :-)
Hi There,
I’ve only been to the Ilen Cottage and would definitely recommend it but I’ve had friends go to the treehouse and they said it’s unreal. There was a bad storm in Cork when I was down there but was still brilliant as we didn’t have to leave the place.
