We spent 3 days at Eileen´s and Pádraig´s farmhouse. It was absolutely fantastic. The farmhouse is really lovely and super tidy. Every room is shaped aesthetically in different colours and has a very comfortable bathroom. Eileen arranges every detail in a lovely way. There was such a warm welcome when we arrived with tea, coffee, self-made scones, bread, marmelade... The breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit, cereals, cheese and a variety of freshliy cooked irish specialities. Eileen and Pádraig are so polite and truely interested in their guests. We had wonderful chats and it was a pleasure to listen to their stories. Thanks a lot, Eileen and Pádraig. We will treasure this stay! Sonja, who felt like a princess and Steffen

Don't let the fact it is out of Skibbereen persuade you not to stay here as the customer care is Beyer than any 5 star hotel experience. The hosts Eileen and Padraig are great characters and their focus is your comfort. I arrived and i was offered what i thought was a cup of tea. However there was loads of tasty jams cheeses crackers honey homemade scones cakes and tarts. Anything you wanted. I have never been offered a finer spread. Breakfasts are a repetition of the tea. Every choice you can imagine is there. I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend to friends and family. I would give this lady 11 / 10 for a stunning service and attention to detail.

Its not that often that I write review's but I have the greatest of pleasure writing this. Coolbawn is the most wonderful b&b you will ever have the pleasure to stay in. Exceptional organic food, homemade bread, scones, jams ,farm fresh eggs and meats. The attention to detail is second to none. You will be blown away by the spectacular array of food that awaits you. However it won't be the food that brings you back, it will an amazing women called Eileen . Eileen is a rare find, the kind of person who runs her business for the sheer love of what she does, to meet people and to make sure they have the best time they possibly can. A thoughtful, kind, generous, caring person with a brilliant sense of humour, you will not want to leave, and when you do you will have made a new friend. The area is magnificent with lots of scenes of natural beauty to explore, such as lough hyne, if you want to get away from it all , you will not find a better place to stay than with the wonderful Eileen. It's the people that make Ireland the beautiful special country it is. Eileen is one of those special people you will never forget.

For the third year in succession my wife and I have had the privilege of experiencing Eileen O'Driscoll's warm and generous hospitality at her lovely B&B accommodation Coolbawn Lodge Farmhouse near Skibbereen Co. Cork. Eileen greeted us in person when we arrived on Wednesday afternoon 6th September 2017 at the start of our three day visit. Since our previous visits we have become firm friends. We chatted for quite a while over a cup of tea and assorted homemade delights, before moving into one of her very clean and comfortable en suite bedrooms. The breakfast experience is of itself a rare and very enjoyable experience. We could have had virtually anything we wanted with excellent offerings of home baking, a wide choice of fresh, exotic and dried fruits. Full Irish or any cooked breakfast of our choice. She also provided a full selection of interesting breakfast cereals. Eileen spares no effort at pleasing her guests. This Farmhouse B&B maybe 9km outside the town of Skibbereen but it is a rare gem indeed. Making that journey there is well worth the effort. Michael & Rita Riordan Killiney Co. Dublin

It was such a perfect stay--I don't know where to start. Easy parking, flexible check-in, clean and spacious room, quiet, good recommendations for dinner, less than 10 mins to town. Breakfast was spectacular--full breakfast (I had blueberry porridge with Bailey's, my partner had the full Irish--the best of the whole trip, apparently), plus 3 types of home-made breads/scones, 3 kinds of jam, tons of fruit, fresh local yogurt, local honey, various cereals and muesli that you could mix with goji berries/flax seeds/chia seeds/etc., various cheeses, loose leaf tea, mint water, lemon water...I could go on and on. We ate like kings. To top it off, the hospitality was outstanding. The hosts, Eileen and Padrig were the sweetest couple, and the most thoughtful hosts. We felt so lucky to meet them, and really would have been happy to stay and chat with them the whole day! If you enjoy good food, and chatting with locals, do yourself a favor and stay here. Had we known just how lovely our stay was going to be, we would have stayed a few more days : ).

We received a lovely warm welcome from Eileen who invited us into her home as if we were old friends. After showing us our room, she made us an afternoon tea to remember. Not just a pot of tea and a biscuit, but a feast that made us wish we hadn't eaten lunch a couple of hours ago. The room and ensuite were immaculate and the bed very comfortable. We thought everything was as good as it could get, and then..........we had breakfast!!!!!!!!! Actually, it was more than breakfast, it was a feast!!! Wow! Eileen clearly loves to feed people, and the breakfast surpassed all our expectations. It was all so beautifully presented, and such a variety and abundance of food we wondered where the other 20 guests were that she had clearly catered for. We were disapppinted we were only staying for 1 night, but it was probably just as well as our clothes wouldn't have fitted had we stayed longer. We had a lovely chat with Eileen and her husband Padraig after we returned from dinner, and chatted until well past our bedtime. Nothing was too much trouble the entire visit, and if ever you are travelling and need accommodation near Skibbereen, County Cork, and want to stay with a couple of the warmest, friendliest people I have ever met, do yourself a favour and stay with Eileen and Padraig. Just make sure you bring your stretchy pants! When we left, we felt sad to be leaving our new 'second-best-friends'.

Coolbawn Lodge is a beautiful B&B just outside of town. Eileen and Padraig were incredible hosts and within a few minutes we felt that we were part of their family. The rooms are spacious and beautiful and very clean. The bathrooms were huge and the nicest we have seen out of all the B&Bs we stayed in during our 9 day trip through Ireland. Coolbawn Lodge location is in a very peaceful setting with no town noise at all. It is quite close to Skibbereen so its easy to drive in for a nice meal and if you are lucky you might stumble across some local Irish road bowling on your drive back to Coolbawn Lodge. Eileen made the most amazing breakfasts...you will not leave hungry. We cannot wait to return to Ireland and Coolbawn Lodge will most certainly be our first stop!!

While staying at Coolbawn Lodge we tried to think of another of the many places we stayed at that could compete with this lovely farmhouse . And we could only think of two 5 stars hotels that impressed us just as much. The small b&b at first sight offers typical value and equipment albeit at a high standard and quality. Attention to detail, cleanliness - all first rate. On top of that however is a level of hospitality that we have never experienced before. Both hosts put in enormous effort into making their gusts feel at home and into preparing and presenting meals. When we arrived we were asked if we liked tea or coffee and, yes, we were looking forward to a nice cup. What we did get however was a meal consisting of lovely breads, cakes and scones, jams and cheeses. We ended up chatting with our hosts for the whole evening and had a great time. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they made us feel like their guests - not their customers.

By far the best B&B we have stayed in. First, the owner Eileen,a wonderful , chatty lady, always ready to make your stay as enjoyable and as comfortable as possible.Nothing is too much trouble for her. Genuinely caring for you. The breakfast is full of surprises never experienced before but I will not tell you what they are - just come and see for yourselves :) let me tell you that one of them was baileys offered to be enjoyed with porridge:-) The B&B is spotlessly clean. The room is big and tastefully furnished with TV and tea/coffee making set. The ensuite bathroom is bright and has everyhing you need. In the house, there is also a lounge with TV and books, brochures, where you can relax and chat to Eileen. There's free WiFi in the B&B. The B&B is located away from the hustle and bustle of a city/town which was exactly what we wanted and perhaps that was the reason we slept like babies. Thea nearest town is Skibberean and it's a few miles away so a car is a must. I highly recommend this B &B and wish to thank Elieen and her daughter for making our stay such an unforgettable experience.

Look no further. After our second visit in as many years, my wife and I realized if we will be visiting in southern Ireland near Coolbawn Lodge in Cork in the future we will be staying there; and I mean if we are anywhere within 100 miles! Eileen and Padraig make you feel like family as soon as you meet them. The house is set back in a picturesque and quietly beautiful area where the stars seem to be brighter than anywhere else on earth. The comfort and cleanliness of the rooms made us sleep later than what we intended. But of course Eileen didn't mind that we were later than we said we were going to be for breakfast. Which was outstanding. Fresh ingredients from the eggs to the meats to the jams to the breads to the irresistible porridge. Eileen is one in a million. Always a smile on her face. So kind and such a big heart. An inspiration, really. And a true people person. When you leave here, you feel you are leaving home.
