Detailed Reviews
Brian and Jackie are just great hosts- from the minute we met them they were so friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. It really didnt feel like we were guests.
We booked one of their self catering cottage- it was so nice we extended our stay for an extra night.
Everything you want was in the cottage for self catering holiday. The cottage was spacious modern but very in keeping with the cottage theme. Two large wetrooms, large dining area. I loved that they provided us with timber for the stove. Our kids played happily outside in the garden feeding their hens and playing with there cats. Jackie even offered some beautiful herbs if we needed it. We have already booked for 2021 and I have and would highly recommend booking these cottage- totally relaxing.

A rare gem in a picturesque setting. Jackie is amazing as host and provides all the comforts needed with all the peace and privacy desired. Ample parking, great wifi all mod cons and the beauty of valentia all around. We are already booked to return!

Jackie met us as we drove up - oops, sorry Jackie, next time we'll remember to drive to the front! It's a wonderful treasure on Valentia Island! We could hear the ocean surf through our window yes, we had our window open in March in Ireland! It was wonderful! And a yummy breakfast to boot!

I attempted to book a family room at Atlantic Villa as I was impressed with the glowing reviews. I looked at their website and it looked very nice. I then rang and was met with a voice message asking to contact them via email. I dutifully complied listing the date and number of people needing accommodation. I received an email reply from Jackie asking how many days I would need. I replied repeating the information in my original email that I would just need one day. Jackie then inquired again as to what date I needed accommodation, I again replied with the same details. As this was on now the day we needed a room my ever wise wife took over and arranged accommodation for us with a quick telephone call. I then emailed Jackie to have her disregard. It was only after that that she shared with me that they were closed and that was the reason for all the back and forth. This helpful tidbit of information could have been listed on their website, on their voice message even been contained in the first email I received from Jackie and saved us both a load of bother.

Where to start... Immaculate home. Wonderful rooms. Delicious breakfast. The most gracious and welcoming hosts. Beautiful town and views (even in torrential rain!). Warm and toasty sauna! Lovely home away from home. My husband, myself and another couple stayed with Jackie and Brian for two nights, one of those days being our Thanksgiving holiday. As we live in Dublin and were entertaining friends from abroad, we really wanted a special experience in Ireland. And boy did we get one! Not only was the breakfast cooking fantastic but Jackie and Brian whipped up an American style (with a bit of Irish and Canadian flair) Thanksgiving dinner that would make our mother's proud. They recommended plenty to do and see around the island during the days and the best pubs in town to rest our wet boots. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting County Kerry. It is one of a kind. OH - AND the beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept in in any B&B!

We spent 3 nights at Atlantic Villa and were made most welcome by Jackie and Brian. Plenty of suggestions of things to do and where to eat. We visited Skellig Michael from there and it was just a short drive for the 8:30 start from Port Magee. Ten minute walk into Knightstown for restaurants and cafes.

We loved our stay at Atlantic Villa. The location is lovely and Kinghtstown is a charming little village. Our room had a view of the gardens and sea. Jackie was friendly and extremely helpful and found a book about the locality for me from their extensive library. Best of all was breakfast, with an amazing spread of locally-sourced options. My Skelligs porridge with honey from their own bees was fantastic. We hope to be back!

What can we say, Atlantic Villa is a jewel to be found in the south west of Ireland and if you are lucky enough to get fabulous weather as we did you could not be in a more beautiful part of the world.
Jackie and Brian offer the most warm welcome that just make you feel your in a home from home from the minute you arrive to the minute you depart which makes all the difference to your trip.
Breakfast was fabulous with porridge irish style which is fantastic and fabulous produce from their own garden.

We were so glad that you chose to include Atlantic Villa in your Irish tour, and delighted that we lived up to your expectations. (You had done your homework and knew what to expect .) You enjoyed a night out dining and meeting the friendly locals and also spent a cosy day and evening relaxing by the turf fire. We try to offer a variety of experiences to our guests and you both seemed to make the best out of what we have to offer and left with your " batteries charged" after your few days stay. It is a different experience traveling in the low season and you had the extra comfort of almost having the place to yourselves. We look forward to your next visit.

We just arrived at Atlantic Villa on the basis of the sign they had outside. It appeared empty until we dialled the number supplied and then it gradually came to life, with the fire lit, tea and gorgeous hand made chocolate. Brian and Jackie were wonderfully welcoming and informative hosts. It was fascinating to hear of the history of the house, as that of the superintendent of the transatlantic cable laying operation. We arrived there after a walk around Bray Head (see accompanying photo) on Valentia Island and had the place to ourselves, enjoying a meal at the nearby Royal Valentia on Brian and Jackie's suggestion. Waking to a view of the Atlantic was lovely, and the breakfast with homemade honey from their hives, their own potato and tomato, gorgeous king scallop wrapped in bacon so beautifully presented with a peppery nasturtium on the side - just superb. I would love to come back and explore the joys of cycling and kayaking nearby.

It is great to hear that our swinging sign on the road works! So glad that you spotted it and came on in .... The turf fires are burning to offer a warm welcome at this time of year. Perhaps if you plan ahead next time, you may like to enjoy a warm soak in the seaweed bath to warm you inside and out and discover seaweeds amazing nutritional, horticultural and cosmetic benefits? All possible. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit.
