We spent two nights at Mannix Point and really enjoyed the location for its views and convenience as a base for touring and sightseeing as we explored the Ring of Kerry. We were assigned a lovely waters edge pitch and met a lovely young couple (Delhi/Dublin) who had pitched their 2 person tent next to us. Good adherence to rules around Covid and the park is well maintained. We dined out on both evenings in Cahersiveen and had a wonderful time. Our only disappointment - no fault of the site owner/management - was a brief encounter with a rude (apparently inebriated) Motorhomer who simply disregarded all the protocols about occupying a pitch that had already been designated and was being used by us. Although this happened after the office had closed and we were unable to make contact with the staff at the time, the driver of the vehicle vacated the space, albeit reluctantly, but without any apology or acknowledgement. We were on the road for 14 nights and this was the only bad experience we had with fellow holidaymakers in ten camping & caravanning parks along the Wild Atlantic Bay.…
We stayed here for three nights during September 2020 and it was great! We had a nice flat and sheltered area for our tent - I don't know why some people would want to camp nearer the sea because the sheltered area is much better for the tents. (there's a lot of wild weather in west Kerry!) The building for showers and toilets was constantly being cleaned so we were happy with that. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately because of covid 19, the kitchen was closed but this is understandable . We'll be back next year!
Our first visit to this lovely campsite was blessed with superb weather, which brought out the best that this magnificent area has to offer. The campsite was well laid out, beautifully situated on the beach; and the facilities were clean, homely and attractive. Best of all was the welcome from Pat, who offered lots of advice on walks, restaurants and things to do. All told, it was a lovely “end of season” holiday experience for us. Thanks!
2 night stay was challenging at times due to our stay during storm Ellen! However staff were extremely helpful and we were able to relocate out tent and stay through it! Facilities were grand, nice place.
This is a great base for discovering this most beautiful part of Kerry . Spacious flat sites with sea access make this a great choice for campers. We found that the staff on the site were friendly and the facilities were very clean. This site had great proximity to Valentia, Port Magee, Waterville and the Skellig route. We traveled alone but it seemed like a great spot for kids One call out is that the road into the site is a little rustic and the lighting at night is very low level so you'll need torches.
