Hi all. So I’m just back from a wonderful 3 night stay at the “Mannix Point Camping Site” in Cahersiveen Co.Kerry. Oh my god! Wow!! What a place to stay. First of all, the two gentlemen that run the place are so friendly and helpful in anyway they can be to you. The pitches are great, especially if your like me and want electric hookup and fresh water at your pitch. The toilets & showers are great. Spotless clean every day. Ok some people complain that they are over 20 years old, and showing there age but they are well maintained and everything works! Sure that’s all you need. There is also a campers kitchen. A 15 minute walk will bring you to the SuperValu store and fuel station. Further on will bring you into the village of Cahersiveen with many other shops. The views from around the campsite are fab. I loved listening to the sounds of the Curlew bird. We counted 18 of them on the waterfront. It’s something you don’t hear much on the east coast of Ireland now, but it brings back memories. Also spotted a sea otter, some seals and other birds like the oyster catcher and herring gulls. All in all, it’s a fabulous place. I for sure will be revisiting “ Mannix Point camping “.

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. Having read a very negative one recently you lift my spirits again. Thank you especially for that. The curlews are fewer than they used to be but the otters and seals are still plentiful. You should see the seals when they are training their young. That is a wonderful sight to see. It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope we meet again. Cheers. Mortimer.

We arrived on the second last Saturday of the season, we got the waterfront site@Cantwell we requested, our check-in by the ever lovely and professional Pat who made us feel welcome.Rates explained and shower tokens bought, including the necessary WiFi password!!!!!!!!! The check-in area was spotless as were the bathrooms and shower facilities where the water is super hot.( The tea tree hand wash smelled great too).If needed they have washing machines and dryers, precovid a lovely sitting room with a turf fire was available to guests and trad musicians played. Our site was easily found with great signage, and at night, night lights light the way to the bathrooms. The power hook up was seamless. The second night was the treat everyone wants but seldom gets a fabulous west of Ireland sunset 🌇.We spent a week at Mannix point we got to meet the infamous Mortimer and shared an evening meal with Guinness a friendly black and white cat.The site was busy alot of camper vans and day campers but the silent nights were peaceful as everyone followed the 23.00 quiet request. If Mannix point was open all year I would if I could spend a year there, I have no hesitation in recommending Mannix point to anyone for however long they need to stay.Betty and Ray

Hello Betty and Ray. Thank you for your excellent, comprehensive review. I am very happy to know that you enjoyed your visit so much that you "could spend a year there". Guinness, the cat would be happy for you to feed and entertain him. I hope that you have an opportunity to visit again and have many opportunities to enjoy our west of Ireland sunsets. Cheers, Mortimer.

We stayed seven nights in one of the waterside pitches and enjoyed the most amazing sunsets over the bay. Mortimer and Pat looked after us with their expert local knowledge and usual friendliness. We love camping here and will be back.
