The Old Monastery is a place to come for a unique stay in an old house full of history and charm. You will be warmly welcomed into my home and I hope that all guests feel at home here, I love this area and very much and want all my guests to experience it to its fullest so I will be at hand to give lots of local tips on food, things to see, places to go etc. The toilets are shared as are the shower rooms however all toilets and showers rooms have latches on the inside of the doors. However, this is not a typical Irish B&B, the breakfast I serve is not a fry, it is a continental breakfast featuring food from local suppliers such as breads, cheeses, muesli, yoghurt, jams, fruit, pastries and other local specialities all depending on seasonal availability. The bedroom doors don't have locks as they are old solid wooden doors, they keys of which were lost many moons ago.

Once we found it, we were greeted by Lucy and made very welcome. Recommendations for dinner and a tour of the monastery, with a lovely warm bed and shower. The building is period building, so don't expect it to be pristine, but it is clean and very comfortable. Lucy provided us with a beautiful breakfast of meusli, bread, cheeses, and scones which we shared with 3 lovely Polish ladies who were also holidaying. I would recommend this place for couples and singles. No TV which we enjoyed, but they do have free wifi. Great place to stay.

I stayed overnight on my way to Skelligs ! Old world charm with lots of character! Made even more special by a wonderful hostess who provided me with many suggestions on local restaurants and places to visit! I had breakfast very early and it was superb ! A wonderful table spread !

Boutique hotel / hostel style accomodation in a stunning victorian former monastery. Intimate and charming with lots of space, reading rooms, kitchen and dining room available for use of the guests. The bedrooms could be a bit updated (locks would be good for the doors), but otherwise we had a lovely time here, with congenial breakfasts around the table with the other guests. Breakfast is included and is Irish / Continental style (brown bread, scones, meusli, porridge, fresh fruit, salmon, avocado..) My kind of breakfast! Lucy was a very friendly and helpful manager. Will come again!
