Stunning setting with access to the ocean and woodland. Exceptional walking trails, with something for everyone. Family friendly facilities and staff. Spa and health club facilities are great. Self catering accommodation is within walking distance and great standard.
We stayed for 5nights, we could not fault the service, food or the hotel in any way. We enjoy every minute we spent there. The room was clean, warm & very comfortable. We went on all the walks around the grounds and loved the murder mystery walk in particular. There was always a Gluten Free option at every meal & it was always delicious. The staff looked after us very well and we always felt relaxed. We used the pool and jacuzzi every day. I have since I have been home recommended it to others.
I've stayed at Parknasilla a few times. Overall the location is stunning and the staff are very friendly and helpful although in recent years I have noticed that there is a high staff turnover which has resulted in a lower quality service. Food is always OK but not of the quality you would expect in a 4 star hotel (or aligned to the price). On our most recent stay we noticed that they have started redecorating some of the rooms in a style and quality that is not in keeping with the heritage of the hotel or it's 4 star rating. The room on our most recent stay had been redecorated and had lots of really cheap and tacky (for want of a better word) furniture and decor, furthermore the windows were filthy and some of the furniture needed to be cleaned. A friend of ours stayed in one of the manor rooms and although not much had been changed it was over furnished (cramped) and had new cheap cushion's, new cheap picture frames etc. We really love Parknasilla but were so saddened to see this lack of attention to detail and that the recent 'upgrades' are not in keeping with the hotels original period and feeling of luxury. The place has so much potential but needs greater attention to detail and an expert eye for any further changes to the interiors to keep it's previous standard.…
Everything was fantastic. The real winner is that it's kid friendly but it hasn't lowered its standards to do so. As a result, the kids have a blast and the adults can still enjoy quality food, drink and accommodation. The staff were very friendly and the setting is amazing. We'll be back
Received a lovely gift of a voucher for Park na Silla Hotel. States can be used for dinner. Contacted for booking to be told Residents only. Vouchers still available to purchase for Dinner. Beware. Made contact no response
We are just back from a 4 night break in Parknasilla. We thoroughly enjoyed our family break & could not fault anything about the resort. The pool/ bar/ lodge/ coffee shop/ staff/ food were all 5 star. The setting is absolutely breathtaking & there is so much to do from beautiful walks & trails to playgrounds & owl shows. There was always something to occupy our toddler. A special mention to Mary(reservations), Pj( front of house)Norma,Angela(housekeeping) & Lillian, Mia, Adrianna, Ankuish( restaurant) who went above & beyond to make our stay so special & memorable. We will definitely be back
Far to many toddlers running around the place. If you want to enjoy a peaceful swim then you must swim before 10 and after 6pm! After 6pm, "adults are getting ready to dine". There are toddlers in the large sea water hot tub - there is an age regulation for hot tubs! It's such a shame as the location is breath taking; also there needs to be training in the food and beverage department very slack and food is not appealing very poor. Also this hotel doesn't accept cash only card payments. The hotel is old world charm, shame there are too many kids running amok so no peace or relaxing time. Beautiful hotel, but so much needs to be looked at. Such a shame.
Really enjoyed my solo stay in the hotel of Parknasilla; - My loft room was really lovely; clean, warm & cosy with very nice bathroom. - But its a pity glass being emptied for recycling woke me in the early morning. - Dinner from the bar menu: the chowder was gorgeous; if there was an option to add prawns it would have been nice. The pizza was ok. The apple crumble was nice. Dining at the bar was not in a bar it was more like a restaurant; as a solo traveller I prefer a bar setting/less formal. - Disappointed there was no option to buy a coffee from an expresso/barista machine. - Breakfast was fine. - The grounds are outstanding; loved a dip in the sea at the little beach. 10 stunning walking trails. - Spa; loved the 4 steam rooms & heated relaxation loungers; the outside hot tub is really lovely, aswell as the seawater hot tub. -Staff very helpful. - so much more to do if you have time; tennis, kayaking; golfing. A real Gem of a place.…
This is not a complaint just an observation as a 5 * Hotel I was disappointed with the room as it had no security safe or bar fridge and was not up to 5 * prices. Hotel grounds and walks are excellent and brilliant walks. I understand the shortage of staff but I would have expected a shuttle would be available into Sneem.
We stayed here after attending a memorial. The hotel is really more suited to a family break with small children. We were treated very very well and I have to give credit to the check in staff. I have reduced mobility but forgot to mention when booking. They were very good and were able to accommodate me near a lift. The food in the main restaurant was ok but the the bar food was excellent. However on a Saturday there is live music in the restaurant and talking is not an option it was extremely loud and maybe better suited to the bar. My main problem was the lack of attention to detail. A non drinker in our party was repeatedly served alcoholic drinks when we had asked for the 0% option. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable, lovely bathrooms and friendly service. Just a bit off the mark.…
