Lovely comfortable cosy room. and a lovely powerful power shower to sooth the body after two days walking in the beautiful Kerry Mountains. Fergal , the host was so informative and knowledgable about the area including the history, the wild life , the birds and the flora and fauna. He could not do enough for us . He provided us with with a hearty breakfast each day, and a substantial lunch to bring with us on our hikes. He prebooked our evening meals in local places so we didnt have to worry about a thing.! After our hikes each day we relaxed in a lovely sitting room in front of a blazing wood stove with a lovely cup of tea! I cant wait to go again Sue & Rita

My hubby and I along with our two daughters stayed with Fergal for 2 nights and totally enjoyed the experience. The lodge is situated in a quiet area just outside the beautiful picturesque village of Sneem. Fergal was very welcoming, making us feel very much at home from the minute we arrived. Our rooms were spotlessly clean with beautiful views of the countryside. There’s a fabulous lounge to sit in with lots of books, games and television. Although we didn’t go on any hikes, Fergal advised us on some fabulous spots along the coastline to visit. We were not disappointed. On Fergal’s advice we ate in O’Shea’s pub each evening. Sat outside beside their outdoor fire, overlooking the mountains. Food was exceptional. All in all it was a lovely few days and we will definitely be back. Thank you Fergal for all the advice on local property for sale and the great breakfast in a very relaxing atmosphere.

We stayed for 5 nights with Fergal at Álaind. The accommodation is top class, comfortable, great beds and showers, and walking distance to Sneem village with excellent choice of pubs and restaurants. Fergal is a great host, and was exceptionally Covid compliant. Fergal’s guided walks are a joy, tailored to your needs and abilities, so you get to see places and scenery you’d never find on your own. If you love walking and want to discover the best of Kerry then Álaind is a fantastic choice for a memorable holiday.
