Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent welcome and lovely comfortable room. The couple were very hospitable and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The scenery surrounding the accommodation was stunning. I would definitely stay again - possibly in the summer next time.

My stay was brief but perfect. The communication with the host was flawless and timely. My ensuite room (#1) was nice, warmly decorated, with a decent size TV, hairdryer and toiletries. The breakfast, which is to be chosen night before (which I think is a great idea as saves time and resources) was freshly cooked and tasty. Private car par at the rear of the property was a handy addition. Unsurprisingly, it was soooo super-quiet overnight.

This was our second visit to Alaind and again Fergal hosted us with excellent care and attention. Alaind is a great place to stay to explore the beautiful area around Sneem and Fergal is very knowledgeable about all the things to see and do nearby. Definitely a five-star recommendation from my wife and me.

Feargal is an excellent host. The lodge was spotless in an amazing location. The village of Sneem is a 10-minute walk away and has lots of options in terms of food and bars. The locals are also really friendly and helpful.

Lovely comfortable cosy room. and a lovely powerful power shower to sooth the body after two days walking in the beautiful Kerry Mountains. Fergal , the host was so informative and knowledgable about the area including the history, the wild life , the birds and the flora and fauna. He could not do enough for us . He provided us with with a hearty breakfast each day, and a substantial lunch to bring with us on our hikes. He prebooked our evening meals in local places so we didnt have to worry about a thing.! After our hikes each day we relaxed in a lovely sitting room in front of a blazing wood stove with a lovely cup of tea! I cant wait to go again Sue & Rita

My hubby and I along with our two daughters stayed with Fergal for 2 nights and totally enjoyed the experience. The lodge is situated in a quiet area just outside the beautiful picturesque village of Sneem. Fergal was very welcoming, making us feel very much at home from the minute we arrived. Our rooms were spotlessly clean with beautiful views of the countryside. There’s a fabulous lounge to sit in with lots of books, games and television. Although we didn’t go on any hikes, Fergal advised us on some fabulous spots along the coastline to visit. We were not disappointed. On Fergal’s advice we ate in O’Shea’s pub each evening. Sat outside beside their outdoor fire, overlooking the mountains. Food was exceptional. All in all it was a lovely few days and we will definitely be back. Thank you Fergal for all the advice on local property for sale and the great breakfast in a very relaxing atmosphere.
