Detailed Reviews
Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed a one night stay at the Glenbeigh Hotel and a delicious evening meal at Jack's Coastguard Restaurant in Cromane.
Tracy couldn't have been more helpful and professional with the booking process beforehand, for both the accommodation and evening meal.
From the moment we entered the reception area of the hotel and throughout our stay we experienced a warm welcome from Karina, the Manager and her team. The cosiness and cleanliness of the place, together with the attention of every member of staff to our needs, their generous hospitality and friendliness, were simply second to none.
A taxi with Sean, a very friendly local man, was arranged to take us to and from Jack's Coastguard Restaurant for a wonderful evening meal. There again we experienced the same warmth of welcome and hospitality from Brian and his team of friendly staff who couldn't have been more attentive. The menu was full of wonderful choices, the food was exquisite, and beautiful live music in the background added delightfully to the ambiance.
We would have no hesitation whatsoever recommending the Glenbeigh Hotel and Jack's Coastguard Restaurant, where guests can feel reassured and safe in the knowledge that COVID-19 Guidelines are taken seriously.
Eleven out of ten!

We needed a place to base our Motorcycle travels from and we got extremely lucky when we booked here. The staff are so friendly and make you feel at home. On two evenings we had dinner in both the bar and restaurant. The food is really nice and the prices are very reasonable considering the high quality and portion sizes. All in all, we had a great time here.

This is a cute old hotel with a lively bar and busy restaurant. We only had breakfast there which was fine. The food we saw when we checked in during the dinner hour looked and smelled good but we had already eaten. The bed was comfortable. The problems for us were (1) our room placement and (2) that staff were so busy it was hard to get assistance. It is family run and they can't just leave someone at the front desk all the time to take care of guests. It was more that you had to navigate around to find someone to get help and/or go to the bar. Our 2nd floor room was charming and spotless but had only one "window" from which you could see some sky if you got right up to it but which actually overlooked a large shaft down to the kitchen. We could hear the kitchen drama and smell the food all evening. The bathroom had a printed message on the mirror that said "tap water not suitable for drinking." That was a little concerning. We opted to skip full blown showers till the next hotel since we did not know what sort of problem there was with the water. There were no bottles of water to drink in the room. We had to go to the bar to get someone to give us some water. Later, it was stuffy even though we left the single window and our room door open. We had to go to the bar again to ask for a fan. The bar staff were not rude but not pleasant. Presumably, they expect to be doing "bar tasks," not "hotel tasks." There is a nice outdoor area for seating and an indoor sitting room. Anyway, it all worked out in the end but we would probably try a different place next time.

A group of us went for a three course meal to the Glenbeigh hotel and were delighted to be seated in the dining room where there was loads of space. The menu in general was amazing but the specials were a great addition. We all ordered something different (which is very unusual for us, normally it's a burger all round) and all loved everything we got. The portions were very generous and we couldn't leave anything behind. The service was fantastic, with new dining restrictions we had to order drinks to the table which were always very prompt. Overall would highly recommend, and they catered excellently to the large group.

We arrived here for food after playing the Dooks Golf club and we went in to an Open fire which was very much welcomed .
We had the full monty starters , main and dessert and all were excellent .
Mushrooms for starters were a highlight and were very moreish !
Our main course was the burger which was superb . I had the fish and chips which was hake in a beer batter and there was lots of it and very tasty and the other main was confit of duck which was a little on the salty side but perfectly cooked and none of it was left behind !!!
We all had choc brownie for dessert which was served with ice cream and cream .
Excellent all round food and a great atmosphere in the bar .
On a side note , we booked 3 weeks in advance and we were going to be put at a tiny table beside the phone and considering we are all 6 ft plus lads , this was going to be a squeeze , but the lady moved us to a booth which was much better .
All in all , great food and highly recommended.

The hotel description says stunning. A better word to describe would be quaint. It’s very old. There are no elevators so be prepared to haul your luggage upstairs. There is limited staff to help and no one at the front desk. Dinner is served in the pub. The food was actually good.
Room could use an update. The carpet very old and room smelled musty. No heat in the room but they did provide a space heater. They have one very small trash can in bathroom. Could use another trash receptacle in the room or one large one in the bathroom. To get around we used cabs. There are very few in this town so little bit pricey.

I could not get over the standard of the rooms at The Glenbeigh Hotel. One of the most luxurious rooms I have ever stayed in. We did not expect the level of quality considering the mid-range affordable price. The breakfast was gorgeous and really set us up for the day. Excellent customer service, a really lovely visit all in all.

Spent a weekend with two brothers. The staff are so friendly and are professional to the core. Food and Guinness were exceptional. I really liked my room and although I was on the road side it was still very quiet. Glenbiegh is a gem in Ireland but glenbiegh hotel is the place to visit. Fantastic walks straight from the hotel. Michael behind the bar was great and what a talent on the piano. Can't wait to return.

+1
My husband and I visited this Darling little hotel for one night. We got a deal on living social. One nights BB and an evening meal. It was ridiculously cheap at €89 and I wonder how they make anything on it.
We had a standard double room which was snug but contained everything we needed and the furniture suited the age of the building. Clean bedding, a good size bathroom and plenty of hot water. The bath towels could have done being a bit bigger but we're OK and lovely and white. The bar downstairs was cosy with 2 open fires. Pleasant staff, no waiting to be served.
The dinner was lovely. I had roast beef and himself had fish and chips. Breakfast was beautiful, served in the garden room. The whole place was very clean. I did find that the room was a bit chilly this morning. The phone in the room wasn't working, so I rang the hotel from my mobile at 7.20am to find out when the heating was coming on, but it just rang out.
Our room was looking out on the main road but wasn't noisy at all.
All in all, a lovely stay.
