Food expensive but not tasty! Stopped off on way back from a lovely day in Kells Bay. What a disappointing meal. The staff were lovely, attentive and courteous but that’s where the positives stop. The brown bread served with the chowder was stale. The burger mediocre, turkey much the same, portions were generous enough, but would much prefer quality and not quantity. And, as already mentioned, expensive for what we got. Will pass by here the next time.
Very disappointed with our stay here. Rooms are very dated and the music from the local pub blaring into the early hours of the morning made it very difficult to sleep. We paid €400 for 2 people for 2 nights and payment was requested upon arrival. This price was meant to include breakfast yet staff would not facilitate a 7am breakfast. When we were leaving the hotel just before 7:30am, we discovered that the main door of the hotel was locked. There was no way for guests to unlock the door from the inside. We had to wait for a member of staff to arrive for work. When questioned about this, we were informed that the night porter finishes at 5am and that reception does not open until 7:30am. Surely this is in breach of fire safety regulations. The only redeeming factor was that…
Dropped in for lunch and booked two rooms. Apparently you can do the Ring of Kerry in a day- it took us three days just because we found some amazing little places, and stopped off. This was the best find of our little Break. Lovely staff, good food and the owner was patient enough to give me the history of the paintings displayed. The rooms were lovely, the hotel setting was very nice. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay - they have the loveliest bar staff ever. Nice little pub across the way. Will definitely return and only sorry we missed the live music by a day.
We had a wedding here on a Saturday of the 02 April The hotel had a lovely open fire Drinks reception was in the bar We headed for the meal to a lovely restaurant The food was A1 staff were lovely The hotel was cosy clean and I would love to go back to them for an evening meal at my leisure well done to a well run hotel
My wife and I attended a wedding at this hotel on Saturday 2nd April. It was a smashing day. All of the staff were lovely, and couldn't do more for the guests. Would be happy to recommend this hotel to others getting married, certainly the staff did everything to make the bride and groom and all guests have a great day. It's also a very nice and clean hotel with plenty of character. Dr. Pat O'Sullivan
Visited last weekend ( September 18th) Three words, unsanitary, expensive, unsafe. Slow staff ( only 4 tables eating ) Dirty table cloths, filthy seating… food was mediocre, but so expensive and the portion sizes were tiny!!!…. Flies in the glasses… We were told no contact tracing details were necessary, and neither was the use of masks in public areas… would definitely not recommend. Avoid.
The absolute pinnacle of Irish hospitality and welcome. Been coming to The Towers for years and Breda and the team never fail to create the warmest atmosphere. This place is a must to soak up the best of Ireland. The restaurant and bar have a magical ambience. Rooms and entire place spotlessly clean, food very fresh and top quality. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Absolute rip off, place needs total refurbishment. Wouldn't advice anyone to waste their money here, drive on to better value and comfort. I even wrote to the Director of this establishment and they didn't even have the courtesy to reply.
Booked 2 nights in this hotel and I should have smelled a rat when asked to pay upfront. Stayed in room no 3 which was like being in a fish bowl no privacy. Supposed to be a deluxe room. Room was clean and other than that an awful stay. There is no air conditioning so had to leave the windows open. We got no sleep due to the carry on from some other guests and a pub directly across the road. We went for breakfast and the tables had dirty table cloths and dead flies on the surrounding surfaces. We contacted management to say that we could not stay the 2nd night. She said that she only lived down the road and had heard the carry on and agreed to refund us the 2nd nights stay. We proceeded to collect our bags and check out only to be told that she had changed her mind. What a…
I read the lovely reviews on this hotel, so booked it via the hotel website. 1. Nice breakfast, good selection 2. Staff members Aoife on reception and Brendan on breakfast were very nice. 3. Clean room 4. Torn bed linen (photo attached) 5. Each staff member said a different thing...we can do dinner in this part of hotel as we are resident/ no you can't because of Covid. We felt very unwelcome. (I saw two people eating dinner in the bar next day, this was declined to us 'due to Covid'). On reflection, we were back from our walk and had coats on. I firmly belived that the staff member thought we were visitors who booked a table; she did not clarify that we were residents until I said it. 5. Exceptionally poor Covid precautions, tables too close together. No alcohol gel on…
