The club stayed at this fabulous hostel for a weekend in May. It was perfect. Chris couldn’t have been more helpful. Advising on walks etc. He went out of his way to help us. Everyone enjoyed it. The accommodation was clean. Great kitchen facilities. The whole place was like a home from home. It was hard to leave and we will definitely be back

For anyone who is travelling to Ireland and wants to be a little off the beaten track from Killarney National Park, doesn't want to spend all of their vacation money on accommodation or are planning to hike the Kerry Way or Drive the Ring of Kerry, The Sleepy Camel Hostel Glenbeigh is a must! This gem is not only a place to meet people from all over the world but offers dorm rooms or rooms with en-suite bathrooms/shower. Has a huge kitchen and dining area. Is close to restaurants if you want to dine out is within walking distance of a gas station / grocery store with a good selection and a full deli, wine and beer. You won't be disappointed by the reception you receive. Chris O'Sullivan is a welcoming host with a great sense of humour and a wealth of information on the area and

Excellent Hostel, got my own room and large bathroom adjacent. Kitchen very large and well kitted out. Owner very friendly. Probably the best accomodation available to hikers for the whole kerry way route.

I visited the place with my sister and we stayed in a double room with shared toilet. I like the professional welcome we received, the cleaning standards and our room (with wooden floors). What I liked less are the non gendered-divided shower facilities (the shower room, which contains three showers, can be locked, but that prevents the other guests from using it). Additionally, the common room closes at 9.30, and that prevents guests from socializing or just chilling in the evening. Additionally, when we asked about baggage storage (as advertised on their website), they said that it was not possible. I understand that it is a small hostel and these choices might be related to organizational needs. However, I tend to like better those hostels which offer that kind of facilities.
