Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed as a family for two nights to attend a wedding. Carmel and Martin couldn't have been better hosts. Their friendliness shines through and nothing was too much for them. Breakfast was extensive and varied. The room was well equipped and anything we needed was quickly obtained. Beds were very comfortable which made for a great and refreshing nights sleep. Price was excellent and great value for money in comparison to other places we researched in the area. Location and views were specular. All in all, a five star service. Thank you and should we consider going to Clifden in the future, it is guaranteed that we check if you have a vacancy. Danny, Carmel and Thomas Quigg. X

This is a well kept property in a superb location with views of the Atlantic and coast. Owners were very caring and attentive. We had guests for coffee and fresh tea and coffee was served with biscuits at no extra charge. Breakfast was superb, smoked salmon, black sausage tea coffee juice etc etc. A great property well run and with a lot of old world Irish charm.

We have already visited many b & b's in the last 5 years but never so impersonal received as in this b & b. The reviews we had read speak much about friendly and cordial people. Maybe it was because there family was visiting but normally you get at least a cup of tea when you arrive after a long drive. At the breakfast Carmel asked : how are you doing, but expected no answer. Martin, we saw his name on the map, has said nothing at all. The youngest daughter didn't even have the courtesy to you say hi. The oldest daughter was visiting and started though and conversation with us. The rooms and breakfast were basic. The only positive thing we can say is that the location is wonderful.

Wow this was an experience we never not wish to repeat. The owners were rude (which incidentally they accused us of!). Booked thru Booking.com which showed a room with two doubles and single bed. Why two double beds - my arthritis was in a pain phase. My husband soon discovered a dated room and a queen size bed!!! On querying the room were told it was not their problem what booking.com listed. As we say the rest is history as the owners went on the offensive. We left at 8.30pm and would have slept in the car in preference to this B@B. Subsequently they charged for the night. Yes we did find a lovely place in the village of Clifden that evening and professional hosts. In addition calling it an ocean view - really Anne Robertson

My booking was cancelled- without any notice- not even a message, because I requested an access to a Microwave to heat up food for my son. He’s Special needs and had dietary requirements. Furthermore the owner was worried that the room will be inadequate for my sons. Really? How? My son doesn’t have reduced mobility and just needed a bed to sleep. Apparently the owner was worried about the equipment in a room.Honestly what can a sleeping 7 year old do to a room with parents minding him and sleeping in that room too?!?!?So My rewiry is 0, based on discrimination regarding my sons Special needs. This is not how you treat people with dosabilities and their families!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t quite know where to start when reviewing this small piece of paradise…Carmel and Martin are the most wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make their guests feel completely at home, with a perfect breakfast (a great choice of lovely fresh hot and cold food), very clean rooms with comfy beds, a tv and fast WiFi. I only have one word for this B&B – “perfect”.

Martin and Carmel were two of the nicest and hospitable hosts you could hope to meet, and the dog was no slouch either. Throw in a lovely quiet location and a full Irish Breakfast and I can’t complain.

If you want to stay in the wilderness, check out theOcean Villa BnB. The place is a bit run down, but the hosts are charming and make you feel welcome. The rooms are comfortable and clean. We were served an excellent breakfast.

This B&B is in a remote area of western Ireland. Roads are narrow when you get close to the B&B but the views are sensational if you enjoy peace and quiet. The breakfast is one the best in Europe despite what one other viewer has said. I have been in Europe for 5 months and have some experience in this area. The breakfast combines the items in a Irish and English breakfast, e.g. bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, pudding, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast, fresh fruit, and includes items found in a French breakfast such as various cheeses, danish, and more. You truly can't eat it all. Nice sun room out front. Internet speed was great but the shower water pressure was pretty weak. Bed comforter was extremely heavy and would keep you warm in a blizzard. Good country experience.

Very nice house with a lovely couple that lives there! Rooms are super clean and it feels like a real Irish home! Breakfast better then a hotel breakfast! I would recommend any one to stay there! But recommend to book with them and not true a website.
