Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The welcome is of high quality: Desmond, the owner, makes the effort to learn the first names of the arrivals... and remembers them the next day to welcome at breakfast. The place is cramped but beautifully decorated with family souvenirs. The bedding is pleasantly firm. Only small downside: the curtains, side street, let a little too much light pass.

Desmond’s a gem. The actual B&B ticked all the boxes of what you’d hope a rural Ireland accommodation would be like, but Desmond’s warm & engaging personality made the stay so memorable. The breakfast room is like a step back in time, wouldn’t change a thing.

Such a lovely little guesthouse. We only stayed for one night but really loved it. The room was large and comfortable with tea and coffee in the room. The breakfast was very varied and generous and the hosts were incredibly friendly. Can't recommend it highly enough.

We highly recommend the Ben View House! Desmond, our host, was charming and informative. He helped us map a road trip route with spectacular sights. The room was warm, clean and inviting. The dining experience was spectacular. For breakfast we had the Traditional Irish Breakfast and Smoked Salmon and Eggs. Both were delicious. Thank you, Desmond.

I just finished a 10 day journey around Ireland, and my stay at Ben View House was one of the highlights of my entire trip! Mr. Morris is part greeter, guide, historian, curator, chef and companion. I was thrilled with his welcoming self.
I will be back and for sure the Ben View House will be a definite stop along my way!
Thank you so much Mr. Morris for your care...
Kind regards,
Duffy Doherty

Ben graciously took us in after we had a mixup with Airbnb at another place. Wow—we got lucky to stay at Ben’s beautiful place! Ben was extra friendly and made sure we were settled in with everything we needed. I think his is the third generation to run the business, so they take a great deal of pride in it.

The breakfast is unrivaled! They offered a full Irish breakfast on family china and accommodated our dietary needs.

We absolutely loved our stay with Ben in beautiful Clifden, Ireland. Thank you!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this charming guest house. The hosts Eileen and Desmond made us feel like visiting relatives their welcome was so genuine. The breakfast was absolutely second to none and the location is also ideal. We will definitely return when next in the area.

Eileen and Des are the sweetest hosts! Our stay was 10/10! The rooms are clean, cozy and comfortable. The breakfast is absolutely delicious and large portions. It was great learning about the history of the B&B as well. All around amazing service and stay!

This is a lovely guest house. We stayed for three nights while touring the area on motorbikes. The great welcome which we received from Des and the unlimited local advice was greatly appreciated. The room was spacious and clean, we had fresh towels every day and the breakfast was brilliant. Attention to detail was exceptional. If we’re in the area again we would certainly come back. Thanks Des and Eileen

Very charming gentleman at bed & breakfast. Exceptional breakfast (with white tablecloth etc. with menu and responding to extra wishes). Charming little room on the second floor with 2 beds. All pubs are in walking distance as bed & breakfast is in centre.

Is it easy to park a car nearby? Do you have private parking?

Parking is the only downside to Ben View, but we found it to be . just a minor downside. You have to park on the street. Ben View does not have its own parking lot. And, I think we did have to pay a small daily fee to park.
