Des (the proprietor) is a lovely welcoming gent who is a font of knowledge on Clifden and Connemara. The guesthouse is spotlessly clean and wonderfully comfortable. The breakfast is fabulous and very generous. Des is happy to help you get the best out of your stay by recommending points of interest and natural beauty that you may otherwise miss out on.

My husband and I spent 3 wonderful nights here! If you are looking for a true Irish experience this is the place to be! From the beautiful lace trimmed sheets and pillow cases to the old Irish china used at breakfast it was just perfect. We so enjoyed meeting the owner and his sister who answered all our questions and were just delightful! Breakfasts were amazing and if you don't want their "true Irish breakfast" try their homemade "from scratch" pancakes! Amazingly good. If we ever make it back to this beautiful little town we'll see you folks again for sure!

Had a wonderful nights stay in this charming B&B, situated right in the middle of Clifden. Just a short strole to the nice restaurants and bars the town has to offer. We received a very warm welcome from our host who helped us with knowledge of the area. Extra effort had been put in to make the breakfast a memorable one.

Family-operated for nearly a century with floor to ceiling memorabilia to show for it, Ben View B&B is the finest example of the Irish B&B tradition. On arrival, and with every encounter, we were greated like close family by Des and also by Eileen. Our room was simple but quiet and the bed was quite comfortable. There were several breakfast options and our 3 day stay gave us chance to sample all. Don't miss Aunt Eileen's pancakes. All breakfasts were elegantly prepared and presented by Des in a lovely dining room. The lounge/sitting room was a cozy room to relax, watch TV or read. WiFi reception was good throughout. Parking was no problem, free just steps outside the door from 5:30 PM to 11:00 AM weekdays and all day on Sundays and a 5 minute walk at other times. Ben View is centrally located in downtown Clifden with good pubs and restaurants (Des and Eileen had good suggestions) and Clifden is well situated for extensive exploration of the most beautiful part of Ireland, the Connemara.
