Eileen and Desmond are very charming hosts, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast gorgeous. It is ideally located in Clifden and we could find a place where to park the car without any hassle. I strongly recommend this place.

We had two short days in Clifden and luckily we booked into Ben View House which we found through Google. We were greeted by the owners, Des and Eileen, whose family have run the B&B for nearly 100 years! They definitely know how to do it. The room, bath, house all were super clean and comfortable, with an excellent bed. The House has a homey feeling, as if you were staying with their family. Des gave us lots of tips on dining and hearing great music in Clifden, as well as getting the ferry to Inishbofin. Breakfast was incredible, with three choices, all delicious. Des and Eileen made us feel part of the family, and we were sorry we couldn't stay longer. We'll be going back for sure, not so much to see Clifden as to see Des and Eileen and stay at lovely Ben View House! HIGHLY recommended.

I stayed in Benview with my family who traveled from Ireland, the UK, and myself from the USA. My sister and niece had been here before and raved about it so why go elsewhere when you can go to the best. Des and Eileen are little treasures of Clifden with such a warm and fun welcome. Great chat on arrival and super advice about places to eat, routes to take, and full of local knowledge. The rooms are immaculate, and cozy, and have all the things you could want between TV, kettles with tea/coffee, hair dryers, warm blankets, cozy beds, and clean showers/bathrooms. The house is a little gem in Clifden, so convenient for the abundance of local tourist and souvenir shops - lots of classy stores, etc. We got treated like family and made to feel so welcome. The Bayview is in its 96 years and we promised Des we'd be back for the 100th anniversary. I'm pretty sure anyone who stayed once will be back. It really is that good. The food at breakfast was better than any hotel I've visited around Ireland - the flavors, attention to detail, variety, and abundance. You wouldn't need to eat again till evening (and we didn't!). The Irish mixed grill is a must for anyone who loves their Irish brekkie but the pancakes also melt in the mouth delicious so your kids will be happy (you do get 2 pancakes with your mixed grill too so won't feel left out). Half our party had the salmon with scrambled eggs and were still raving about it hours later! I'll be heading back to Washington DC on Monday but will be raving about this location to all my American pals who are planning trips to Ireland and who want to do the Atlantic Way and Kylemore Abbey which is also nearby. First-class service, first-class rooms and food, and warm and friendly people. You can't ask for more. Prices are super reasonable for an overnight so go visit Des and Eileen and tell them Denise From DC said hi!! lol

The rooms in Ben View B&B is big enough with comfy bed and decent big bathrooms. The hosts Des & Aisling are nice, welcoming and ready to help in anyway possible. The breakfast served is too good. Highly recommended.

Desmond’s a gem. The actual B&B ticked all the boxes of what you’d hope a rural Ireland accommodation would be like, but Desmond’s warm & engaging personality made the stay so memorable. The breakfast room is like a step back in time, wouldn’t change a thing.

Very charming gentleman at bed & breakfast. Exceptional breakfast (with white tablecloth etc. with menu and responding to extra wishes). Charming little room on the second floor with 2 beds. All pubs are in walking distance as bed & breakfast is in centre.

Fab B and B right in centre of Clifden town Des is a total charmer. He's so friendly and welcoming. Chatty and interested to hear from all the guests. The Bedroom was just beautiful, clean, warm and so comfy. Bed was a dream and we slept sound. Shower large and lovely and hot. Breakfast was served in a real quaint dining room by a lovely lady called Joanne. It was just yummy and we were full for hours. With cereals, juice and choices of the Full Irish, Pancakes or Smoked Salmon with scrambled eggs, toast, brown bread and pots [and pots] of tea and coffee. We will be back in July. Thanks to all the staff in this lovely spot. 96 years in business and I can see why.

Go for it! Charming owner, real furniture, great breakfast, nice rooms, perfect service and good advice (Off the Square Seafood is the best). Oldest guesthouse in town. Eines der schönsten B&B mit dem beste Fischrestaurant gleich um die Ecke: Off the Square als Empfehlug landlord und von mir als passionierten Fischesser. Ausernfarm ist 10 min weg und alles fast so frisch.
