You cannot go wrong with Ben View House.
I had a free weekend March 9&10 while in Dublin for business, and wanted to explore Western Ireland. Found this place using Google Maps, and booked based on the positive reviews. Extremely pleased!

Had a fantastic stay at Ben View House true Irish hospitality....breakfast great! Helped with our travels highlighted some places to visit along the way.
Cute town with a Pub just around the corner where we had a great night with live music.
This bnb was a highlight of my family's trip! Des and Eileen were great hosts, very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was top notch also, fluffiest pancakes + scrambled eggs and salmon. Simply must stay there during your ireland road trip!
This place is great ! Charming, cozy and the best proprietor !! Talk to Desmond and you'll see why I say that. He's knowledgeable and great to talk with. He was a highlight of our trip. When we come back, we'll definitely go here again...More

The Ben View is in town....you don't need to walk to it. There are three main streets in Clifden forming a sort of rounded triangle. The BV is at the northern tip of that triangle. Walk left out of the BV and you are on Main St. Walk a couple of minutes and you come to Market St. Take a left on Market and you will arrive at Lowry's which I think is my favorite pub in all of Ireland.
