Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent convenient town center location, friendly & welcoming front of house staff that couldn't do enough for you. The view from the dinning room is amazing looking out on the water with the charming rugged landscape, also a stunning outdoor area that we will look forward to come back to experience in the warmer months. The hotel is spotless and fresh with a lovely little bar just off the main street and popular with the locals. All round this place was an A1 experience as ticked all the boxes for us. Our biggest surprise that we were not expecting was the food- as it was EXCEPTIONAL, by far the most delicious/quality hotel food we have had for a long time. Hats off to the chefs as serious pride taken on all dishes we received- all fit for any top restaurant. Highly recommend the steak/great menu. Thank You

We enjoyed our stay at the Woodfield Hotel. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable.
The staff were helpful and hospitable. We had a nice evening meal and breakfast. The location of the hotel in the heart of Clifden was perfect, we enjoyed going to nearby pubs for live music, on a Monday evening. The view out the back of the hotel of the water and moored boats was splendid.

A group of friends stayed last night. We received what we thought was bad news as the water in Clifden was out due to a leak somewhere around the town. Martina sorted out the problem by getting the local fire brigade to bring some emergency water so the hotel was able to stay open. Over the last few weeks I have been in contact with both Martina and Siobhan, both are a credit to the hotel and everyone in our group of 10 agree wholeheartedly. They looked after us with charm and efficiency. The rooms were spotless and the service for dinner and breakfast was excellent. Well done ladies great work..we will be back

Small hotel with wonderful staff. Hotel is located right on the main street, so everything is within walking distance. Check-in was easy, stated our name they handed us a key and offered to help with luggage. The room was comfortable, and bed was a queen size. The bathroom was on the small size. The windows open to the street so it was loud until the bars closed. The weather was warm for Ireland so it was a must to leave the windows open. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very good. Recommend eating there.

We stayed 3 nights at this Pension in the centre of Clifden. Very well placed, the rooms are large. The team is super welcoming and attentive. The view from the restaurant room is top, as is the terrace at the back.
Breakfast is very good and hearty, Irish breakfast (sausage, bacon, tomatoes, egg...) or pancakes, or "just" scrambeled eggs and bacon.
We highly recommend!

I had my boyfriends 40th birthday party here at the weekend.. From the day i started organising it, the staff were outstanding.. they went above and beyond to make sure it was perfect.. I went with a country hoedown theme, they allowed me to transform the bar, including bring in bales of hay to fit with the theme.. The barstaff were outstanding and even joined in in the fun wearing their check shirts and dungarees and cowboy hats.. They were very professional but had lots of fun at the same time..
We also stayed in the hotel that night.. rooms are very spacious and spotless clean.. Would defo have another party here.. Thank You so much to The Woodfield Staff.. Yer a credit to the business.

A group of 9 adults & children ate there last July on a wet summer's evening. We ate on the covered balcony outside as it was still during lockdown. Food was excellent, big portions, very friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Woodfield , Clifton last Thursday. It's a very good central location, great value and the staff are so friendly & really helpful. The bedroom was very comfortable & we were also delighted with our evening meal & breakfast. Overall we were just charmed with Clifton, bright & buzzy with so many stunning beaches nearby. Is it too late to relocate?!
