The Alcock & Brown Hotel has been taken over by new owners. They have invested a huge amount in the renovation and redecoration of the Hotel. My bedroom was up to that of a five-star standard hotel. The staff are more than friendly and go beyond the what is required for great service. The restaurant in the hotel is operated by the much-acclaimed Sea-Hare restaurant. I will certainly be back to the Alcock & Brown Hotel, and I’ll be recommending it to any of my friends travelling to Clifden or the Connemara area.

The Sea Hare is a new pop up eatery in Clifden with seasonal food and is different from the usual wraps and sandwiches type of place.. it's absolutely gorgeous.. I had the Dahl with a flatbread which was perfect for a light lunch.. the interior and the atmosphere is great.. really trendy and lovely furnishings.. I'd highly recommend it 👍 It's next door to the Alcock and Brown hotel in Clifden.

Visited at the end of April. Frontage is not a strong point but the location, right on the main square, is perfect. Clifden is not the biggest town but everything is within a couple of minutes walk. The hotel has no in-house parking but free parking is available across the road in the “Supervalu” car-park across the road. Reception and bar staff were wonderful and all staff were friendly and very efficient. They went that extra mile to make sure we had a pleasant stay. The room was good and clean and perfectly adequate. Sadly, our room had no view but we were using the room as a base so this was not a problem. The bed was a little firm but comfortable. When we were there, the kitchen was not running so no hot meals and only a continental breakfast. There was a good choice of food and it set us up for the day. Pros: Excellent staff. Great location. Cons: Some rooms may not have a view of the incredible countryside. All in all, an excellent stay and we would recommend “The Alcock and Brown Hotel” to anyone staying in the area.

Stayed here from Friday 25th until Monday 28th following our grandson's Christening.  We had 7 rooms and every one was perfect.  Spotless, comfortable and warm.  The entire staff team, Sharon, Reception team, James and bar staff, breakfast and domestic staff all lovely and welcoming.  Thanks to you all for looking after our family.  Will definitely be back.  Hope you like our pic.

Just back from a fantastic weekend in the Alcock & Brown. We had a group booking made and Sharon went above and beyond to make sure everything was in order for us. We also had a few last minute cancellations that they didn't charge us for which I thought was extremely decent of them as this would not be the case in alot of hotels. The rooms are all recently renovated and they have done an amazing job on both the bedrooms and bathrooms. Breakfast in the morning was a continental breakfast and the spread was just fabulous. Pat the night porter was also fantastic. We had dinner in E.j kings and the food there could not be faulted. Would highly recommend this hotel, staff are fantastic, rooms were top class and the rate was very hard to beat..thanks very much to Sharon & all the team.

Best location in Clifden. Very friendly staff and very nice cosy atmosphere in the hostel, especially the lounge reception. Rooms slightly dated but new ownership post Covid so I believe hotel and rooms being refitted over the winter. No food offering in hotel as no chefs available but plenty food within 200-300yards Will be back.
