Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed for a week in this beautiful part of Ireland. Have visited numerous times before and will definitely do in future. Can't rate this campsite highly enough. The atmosphere that's created by Tatiana and Kris make it very special indeed. Can't wait to go back there

This campsite is absolutely superb! We are seasoned campers, and this is the best campsite w ever have ever seen. Kris and Tatjiana Acton have created an eco- paradise, which is among many things in a stunning rural location surrounded by white sands and immaculate water. Facilities are all there, and there is a lovely communal spirit at the campsite. Meters from the campsite is a private beach, and the campsite has amazing views of the Connemara mountains on one side, and sea/river waters on the other. Whilst the eco ethos is proudly displayed, this does not in any way detract from the place. It just makes you want to look after it even more (although campsite, facilities and beach are kept spotlessly clean. Loads more to say, but other things that spring to mind are the friendliness and approachability of Kris and Tatjiana, the secure and safe site, and communal washing up/kitchen area. We can't wait to return next year!

Absolutely an amazing place. We stayed for 2 nights and we got very lucky with the weather over 25 degrees . We got a pitch overlooking the beach. The showers and toilets are basic but clean €1 for a 3-minute shower .You got to try the barrels on the beach for a treat.

This place is magical! This was my second visit and i plan to return annually to re-set and re-charge! The serene views and the sandy beach are simply stunning. The campsite is particularly well-managed - clean, organised and there appears to be an understanding on the part of everyone who stays that this is a place in which to quietly appreciate the spectacular beauty of Connemara. A new welcome addition this year were the seaweed 'hot tubs' - 100 year old oak barrels filled with sea-water heated by log burners. A lovely experience in a setting that feeds the soul!

What an amazing place !!! We had a wonderful 2 night stay in this beautiful site in our camper van. The facilities are great and it is a very welcoming place. The highlight was the rejuvenating seaweed bath in a whiskey barrel at sunset on the beach - thank you Mark it was fantastic . The views from the campsite are just breathtaking and it is so well maintained with the greatest respect given to the surrounding environment well done Tatiana and Chris 10/10 for everything 👍

My family of 4 have just returned from one of the most relaxing camping trips we have ever taken. We did not want to leave this morning. As soon as I arrived I knew this place was special and my first view of the beach was simply breathtaking. Camping in the dunes was THE highlight for my boys (6 & 8) as it was 'just like camping in the wild'. They loved running up and down the hills, rock fishing for baby crabs and sea swimming everyday. We just can't wait to go back but next time it will be a much longer visit. Thank you Chris and Tatyana for being lovely hosts with a friendly chat for everyone and for sharing this amazing part of Ireland. I can see now why so many people return year after year. We will see you again next summer for sure! Mick, Angela, Sam and Evan Diggin

Loved this campsite out on the dunes on the western edge of Ireland. Gorgeous views and lovely sandy bays. Very friendly owners who moved us to a pitch with views of the water (thank you). We have a 7m+ moho so levelling was a bit of a challenge and the driveway was narrow, windy and hilly but is was worth it. More eco credentials than you can shake a stick at and we were self sustained during our stay however they have lots of facilities and ehu if you need them. Would definitely go back

Feeling so very grateful following yet another fantastic family holiday at @clifdencampsite - Kris and Tatyana never fail to make us feel incredibly welcome and the beauty of this location makes it, without doubt, one of the finest gems this beautiful planet has to offer. This eco site shows how in treating our surroundings with care and respect, we can enjoy its beauty to the fullest. Already looking forward to next year, but we leave with another soul-filled photo album of memories for summer 22’ - see you in 23’ 😀 Thank you Clifden Eco Camp!
