Detailed Reviews
We arrived in on a Monday and wondered at first if it was closed but then the host answered the door with a beaming smile and informed us he had been on nappy changing duty. Toby couldn’t have been more accommodating and pleasant as he showed us to our room. I had stayed here several years ago but the place seemed to have had a facelift. We had a decent sized room with a fab en suite. It seemed cold at first, despite being August , but when we got back later it was roasting hot as Toby had put the heating on ( it was 12 degrees at night ). We stayed 2 nights in probably the most comfortable bed in a B n B that I’ve ever known.
The next morning Toby’s brother was on breakfast duty as Toby had gone to get his jab that day. All we can say is that it was one of the most delicious and tastiest ever and set us up for the day. The next morning was just as good if not better with Toby at the helm.
Toby gave us lots of information about what to do locally and was on hand whenever needed. No TV in the room but I actually thought that was a good thing as generally you don’t visit Connemara to watch the box. There was a tv in the spacious lounge if needed.
One section of the place had a separate area for making tea and coffee and also a small fridge which was really handy to keep out bottle of wine cool !
Clifden itself was a little bit disappointing as 3 restaurants were closed due to the covid and we couldn’t get into the only bar open, again covid restrictions on numbers.
However we were sorry to leave on the Wednesday. Toby had been a fabulous host. Full of friendly chat and info. The place was warm and comfy, the breakfast unbelievable. Definitely stay there again as great value. Ignore everywhere else. This is the best.

Rooms were clean but basic, perfect for an overnight stay. Guesthouse was charming as were the owners who were extremely helpful and friendly. The location is only a minutes walk from the town centre and is very quiet. The breakfast was a highlight though, made to order and extremely tasty.
I would highly recommend a stay here!

Cycling up the west coast of Ireland for the last few weeks and this was the best place we stayed so far, extremely helpful hosts. They went above and beyond the call of duty. The food was amazing, cooked to perfection with a flourish of fancy.
Let me tell you about the shower, my god, the shower. I could feel the sins and regrets of the last 30 years of life wash away, cuts healed, bones reattached. After a hard week of cycling this place was a shining star on the horizon. I could go on. The shower, is worth the trip alone.
This place cannot be faulted. Absolutely will be back and recommending to anyone who’ll listen.

A wonderful B&B, great location, lovely breakfast, the room was big with our own sitting area which we loved. Pauline and Toby had thought of everything you could need, and were so helpful on information, even at our next location, which was a great night of music. Thanks again. Highly recommend.

Toby is such a friendly host, and an excellent cook! The scrambled eggs I had here were probably the finest I've had in all of Ireland (after 2 weeks traveling so far). You could taste the butter he used, and they were creamy and flavorful from chives/herbs he added. The French press coffee was also delicious.
We were in room #2, overlooking the front street (that was quiet). We loved the little sitting area in a sunny alcove with windows all around - so much so, we never needed the fantastic common area with its cute eclectic furnishings. Location is excellent, with it being off the main pub and restaurant area, but in close walking distance. What a charming place!

3 of us stayed at Blue Quay for 2 nights, with 2 of us in a 2 bedroom apartment and the third in a double room. We all really loved Blue Quay. It’s in a great location within easy walk of plenty of restaurants, pubs and shops. The view from the accommodation is fantastic and the decor is bright, fun and interesting. The breakfast was great. And a highlight was the great warmth and hospitality throughout our stay. Clifden and the surrounding area was scenic and interesting. Loved it all

Comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast. Pauline and Toby are gracious, friendly and helpful hosts.
Clifden is an easily walkable town with numerous restaurants and pubs. The traditional Irish music at Lowery's Pub was exceptional!

Toby, Pauline and Tom. Thank you for the incredible hospitality and all you did to make our visit so wonderful. I highly recommend the Blue Quay and Clifden as a base for exploring the lovely Connemara area. I hope to return next September!

Arrived in Clifden for a quick wander around town before our long drive home and then decided to stay the night. Found a room available at the Blue Quay and very soon realised we made a great choice. Pauline and Toby are so friendly and really couldn't do enough to help. Great local knowledge and advice, they look after guests so well. Rooms perfect, breakfast amazing, will definitely be returning.....so glad we stayed here, was the perfect end to our Holiday.

Hi Shane,
I am afraid that we are fully booked for the above dates.
Kind regards,
Blue Quay rooms.
