Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Perfect spot for us. We spent the long weekend here exploring this part of Ireland. The apartment had everything you could have ever wanted and was very clean. Really enjoyed our stay and Gerry was very pleasant and helpful. Definitely be back.

The three bed apartment was perfect for us; bunk beds a double and a double ensuite. A great location, on street parking and perfect having the kitchen with washer and dryer. Supermarket across the road and lots of fantastic pubs and restaurants. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed two nights here and had the ensuite room on the top floor with use of a lounge and kitchen but as we were the only guests we had the whole apartment to ourselves. The location is ideal right in the middle of town with a good view of the local streets. The accommodation was very clean and modern with woodburner and balcony. Gerry the owner was friendly and informative. He provided a decent healthy breakast of juices, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, bread, jams and coffee/teas. The apartment is well equipped for self catering. Clifden is a good base for exploring Connemara and has a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. I would highly recommend Gannons.

we spent 5 nights at Gannon's during the Arts festival and simply couldn't imagine a better arrangement for us. We shared the upper quarters (two guest rooms and shared kitchen/living areas) with friends of ours so it felt like a private apartment. We had everything we needed provided--coffee, tea, snacks, breakfast fixings--and if we wanted to stock up on anything else, the grocery store was directly across the street. We didnt have daily maid service, but we werent expecting it, so that's just an FYI for others. Two flights of stairs to get to our unit meant plenty of privacy. Gerry was super friendly and accomodating, but not in your face.

We loved our stay at Gannon's, extending our visit to three days. Gerry really is the nicest host we have ever come across. He really can't do enough for you and is very knowledgeable about the area too. The rooms are very nice, clean and spacious. Breakfasts are continental but there is plenty to choose from. Don't book to come here if you want the full fry because it's not what they do which suited us fine. The location is excellent being right in the centre of town next to numerous pubs and several very good restaurants. If you are worried about noise, it was minimal once we closed our windows which really surprised me as there were major road works going on in Clifden during our stay which went on all day. Clifden generally is a quiet town so there should be no problem now.

We booked for two nights and stayed three. Great location in Cliften and Gerry runs a very good B&B. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the common areas very comfortable with big soft sofas. The breakfast is continental and a nice change from the Irish cooked breakfast, which we also enjoy. We can recommend the scones too - very tasty and served hot from the oven. No complaints and would return again.

Gerry gave a lovely welcome. Room was great. Use of lounge and kitchen was an added bonus. No fry but the scones, pancakes and cold meat & cheese were delicious. The location was ideal for a good night in clifden. Would definitely recommend.

I stayed here with my young daughter. We had a lovely stay and felt very welcome. Breakfast was great with a wide range of food - homemade soda scones, many cereals. ( No cooked breakfast which was not an issue for me). Extremely well decorated and amazingly clean!! There is also a sitting room which was good for us as just being confined to a bedroom can get a little claustrophobic. Location was great too. I would definitely recommend!

We throughly enjoyed our 2 night stay in Clifden with Gerry and Siobhan. Our hosts very very friendly and offered great suggestions for eating and sightseeing. The room and bathroom were a great size. We had one at the back of the house which was very quiet. The common room for reading and TV was big and inviting. Breakfast was delicious. Don't miss eating at Mitchell's!

We stayed with Gerry and Siobhan and they couldn't have made us more welcome. The B&B is spotless and very comfortable (which is more than can be said for the 4 star hotel we had originally booked into?!). Gerry's warmth and attention to detail made our stay great and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! Home made scones! We hope to be back again soon...
